My recommendation for the house: Take it all the way down to the studs and joists. Then you can move walls, add walls, update plumbing and electrical. I work in the industry and see so many people make the mistake of trying to salvage anything they can. It ends up costing more money in the long run and they never really end up liking it. Good luck with the project!
I’m sorry for your loss man. Been following some of the photos you’ve been putting up on other social media platforms. It’s very cool that you were able to keep the house and the family you have incredible photos and memories there.

@@AutoAuctionRebuilds I am sorry for your loss. My dad died from pancreatic cancer about 11 years ago when I was a kid.
Sorry for your loss Randy. I know you are putting way more into the house than what the market value is for the house, but you can’t put a price on memories. Mike is really a great friend, most people wouldn’t do what he has done to help you. The videos with both of you are always great, I hope there will be many more in the future.

Can make his money back over the long run renting the house out if he can find good tenant
I’m sorry for your loss, you’re making your uncle proud in the sky above, He would want the house saved, A lot of people tear them down and start new but they’re not built like they used to be. House is coming along great the potential is 100% there
The house was your grandparents and your uncles and now it's time to make it yours. The memories will always be the same. Given the distance, your best off finding a contractor to do the repairs, freeing up your time and relieving the stress. Great video. I see my grand parents house in yours. Thank you.
I’m sorry for the loss, but seriously big props to Mike for helping you! He’s such a good older brother to you and helping you! Love y’all’s videos!
My aunt had a house in rural Pennsylvania that I wish I could have bought, you did a fantastic job cleaning your uncle’s house, sorry for your loss, can’t wait to see the future updates.
It's actually healing to have this family history to rebuild. I know the sad reverie that accompanies this but there also is many warm memories. I know you'll do great by the memory of not only your uncle but your grandparents as well. Be sure Mike earns his keep lol! Take care guys.
That house has so much potential can't wait to see the transformation you do to it.

RIP Uncle . Mike is a real friend for helping you out. Don't do carpet if it's gonna sit and you have sinus issues, it absorbs moisture and stores dust mites...Laminate is very affordable now. That house looks to have some good bones, it will turn out nice i believe. It really has potential for a cool place. Some of those collectibles may have some fair value on the market. Might help pay for a little repairs and appliances. Don't know much about Terre Haute, would be fun if you did a video showing us around where you grew up at least awhile. Your family would approve of your renovation i'm sure.
Sorry for.your loss . You're lucky to have a good friend like Mike to help you out . World needs more guys like him
Glad you saved your family's house from the state. Prayers & condolences go out to you & yours Randy 😔🙏. Shout out to Mike 💯 friends like that is extremely hard to come by 👏👏 Salute guys 😎
The cleaning crew really did a great job! That house should have a large attic. It may have more memories to look through.
Thank you for sharing this vulnerable experience! I would say to keep your head up and the end result will be worth it and this is stuff that I love to watch, so we will be here!! 🥰
Sorry for your loss Randy. It's excellent to have good friends like @Monkey Wrench Mike to help out. Thanks for sharing your memories with us.
dont loose hope man. It can all be fixed and we are all here to support you and see the updates. I cant wait to see how it turns out. Wish you the best man. its going to take a lot of money but just stay positive man
Hey man, wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss, losing someone near and dear to you is super tough. It's amazing that you got that house, and are planning to save it - that's extremely admirable. I wanted to thank you for the content and wish the best of luck on this house rebuild, I have been a fan for a few years now, since the old old shop. Hope you're doing well
Sorry for your loss Randy. It is real nice you got to save your family house from being sold off and get to fix it up. Thanks for the video on the house and look forward to seeing more.
Really, anything can be saved, it all depends on how much time and money you want to invest. It’s nice to see the trim has not been painted and the hardwood floors still look decent. If you leave metal on the side of the road most times people will come by and pick it up, a friend of mine lives about 30 minutes from there in Sullivan, at one time he built an entire garage pretty much from stuff he found on the curb, luckily for him he also worked for the town dump. I thought your youngest brother lived with your uncle, you introduced us to him when you brought that Copart Pontiac Montana to your uncle, few years ago.
Looks great randy! Glad you are saving the house and giving it some new life. Them old Soild Doors man! Worth keeping, or put up for sale They go for decent coin! Sorry to hear about your Uncle, mine had passed in 2019 right before Covid. I'm only 4 hrs from your uncles place, I would love to help! (as all would) but i think it's best just for you. Can't wait too see more.
Sorry for your loss Randy. But I can’t wait to see the final outcome of the house! I know it’ll look great!
I can definitely see the potential in this house. Good bones, as some would say. Hope you continue to share as the updates/remodeling progresses. Its great that you were able to be in a position to acquire this house that holds such memories and be able to restore it.
I do metal detecting as a hobby and if I was closer or in Indiana on our family reunion trip we take every September, I would love to detect the yard and give you everything I found for your memories. There is always stuff lost in the yard. Returning history to family members is what is the goal. So glad you are going to save your family home. Matt. Wow that Crown Royal is very vintage.
When I lived in Chicago, I used to work for Pinkerton security out of merriville Indiana. Glad you are doing this for your uncle. You have a genuine heart. May he rest in heaven.
Good job Randy. So cool to see both of you together…keep it up.
Sorry For your Loss Brother. Thank you for sharing this Video and Looking forward to the full Remodel of your Childhood Home. 👍

When my grandpa passed I was able to go through his old house and bring items home. Very therapeutic I think. I'm sorry for your loss but I'm glad you are fixing the house up. It makes ME feel better! Lol. Thanks for sharing your life with your viewers. 👊
Gotta say this: MMike is a really good friend! Not many would help you with this project. I wish you the best of luck with this rehab project. The nearby RR tracks will make it hard to sell, even with a super redo.

Sorry for your loss. It's nice to see IRL friendship still exists in a social media world.
Im happy your re doing your family 's home its a good investment it must be an emotional time for you have fun doing the remodel
I love old houses. Like old cars, they have a beauty and charm. I see the potential. Makes me think of my dad's house. It has a modern tub shower. My dad tried to do that with a clawfoot tub and couldn't so we had a cheap little plastic shower and tub. That house also had a toilet room you could close off with an outside door which is nice when you have one bathroom. 10+ foot ceiling with 8 foot doors is not unusual. I also see outside doors in bedrooms in a lot of old houses. Having the ceilings lowered was smart. My dad also refinished the wood floor by hand because the sander kept snagging on nails. Plaster repare kit was hard to find so drywall makes sense. My Dad's house and the other houses on that block are now a condo. I look forward to watching the rebuild series.
Prayers and condolences for your loss 🙏 the house will look great in time keep up the great work. If I had the funds I would love to come and help out .
Hey randy. Awesome content. Sorry to hear about that sad news. You are saving the old house. The house looks good when those people cleaned up the house inside.

I appreciate it . I definitely will. 👍.
Sorry for your loss. All the floors in the house need to be replaced. The stuff you mentioned is good to keep as a collector.
I wished we all had friends like Mike....I use to flip houses and I know how expensive it can be I installed windows for homedepot in North Alabama. You can't put a price on memories keep up your videos and good luck
As awkward as it may sound, my condolences & my congratulations Randy. I'm glad you were able to save your grandparents place and it'll be in the family for a long time to come 😇😇 . If those old CB radios need somewhere to go they'll have a good warm home here in the high desert of Southwest idaho, just lmk 😀
It's great you guys are so cool especially on this special episode of home auction rebuilds ..your uncle was a handyman for real no wonder you are so talented. Manhood on 1000.OG shit with the crown royal lol.I know Jessica will love what you do to the house
great video thanks for sharing, I've been flipping houses since 1994. everything I see in your video is repairable. I would strip those plaster and lath walls down to the studs and drywall all the interior walls, it looks like you're going to have to replumb the whole house get those vents in the walls
Sorry for your loss Randy RIP a good man You will restore this place to it's previous Glory you always do
Good on you for saving that house Randy. Looks like it will be quite a project there.
Randy the house looks so much better and I hope that you will make it look good for your family and you 👍 be safe on you way home man and Mike and you did great to on the house . Have a safe trip home . Friend .
Randy going to have a your hands full., but a lots of memories,That chimney wall that is plastered you can scrape it off laminate the drywall on the cement , with special construction adhesive, and check the wiring while you at it especially you going to take down some of the wall. For cost effect maybe Vinyl Laminate all the floors , this would be a nice video series to see the work and finish product
That's good that you saved your uncle's house
Sorry once again for your uncles loss Randy. On the positive side of things. House rebuilds is a segment id love to see on the channel
I tore down a house in Norman from about the same era, those walls don't have traditional studs like newer homes, they have planks 1" thick connecting the floors to the roofline. Craziest thing I ever saw but on the other hand for being 80 yrs old it was tough to take down.
You've come along way on the house good job Randy.
I’m sorry for your loss. Enjoying this different style content!
Hello Randy and Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. Let's see if you can make your uncles house great again. It's awesome that you're able to save your uncles house. Again sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss, fixing up the old house will help bring closure. In my old house I took the bad plaster out down to the lathe then just put drywall over it. As far as the trailer you could cut it up with a sawzall into big hunks and put the parts in a dumpster.
So happy the house is being renovated. Good content though I’ve been watching you videos for quite some time now. Keep up the good work ❤❤❤
That house is worth saving. I would love to see more DIY video on it. You have already transformed it in just a short time!
What a awesome kool cozy home u grandparents & uncle lived in Randy 22:45 doing that upgrade opens section along alot of amazing history was their now u own making better .
This reminds me of AA head quarters when you started out at that property, would be concerned about the tree limb falling on new roof keep up the good work
Enjoying the video. Looking forward to seeing more
Can definitely repair it but it will take alot of work I would do it especially it being a family home . Would keep the wood moldings and the interior doors really like the solid 6 panel doors. We found ours in the basement sanded them and stained and put them back in they look amazing. So much better than the doors the previous owner put in good luck with everything. Have a good day and stay safe Jimmy from North Attleboro Massachusetts.
Beautiful old home. Gonna look good when you get done.
That house is nice it will be lovely when it's all fixed up I love the story of the garage door
Rip to your Uncle. Glad you got the house, good video 🥰
Sorry to hear about your loss man, but glad you were able to save the house. the techie in me couldn't help but notice the assortment of computers in the living room. that white dell is worth something if it works. just finished a purge of stuff that would put that pile to shame, but the bad part? it's not even half of what I still have... what a throwback phone, they built those things like tanks lol. Sadly , it looks like the house probably would have to be gutted to the studs. A big project to be sure.
Good job bro I'm glad you kept the place I look forward to the videos on the house
randy i am sorry to hear that about your uncle i wish you the best man greetz rogier from the other side of the world
Lovely video Randy. Makes me want to do the same to my own childhood home.
Sorry for your loss. I love the picket fence.
Man randy you are a real hero God bless u
I immediately recognized the song by neffex and my jaw dropped. You just got even cooler in my eyes
Sorry for your loss randy, the house looks like it will clean up really well. Please try to keep all of the original trim or if not don't just throw it out people will buy trim like that same with doors ect
Hey Randy, I am going to watch this whenever I get home from work, can’t wait, Sorry for your loss, I am glad you are preserving it.
Very sorry for your loss man but that house looks a lot better then it did it takes a lot of time to restore a house I love the videos of it being cleaned up. That sink in the kitchen is very old and is worth either selling or having it reglazed can't wait to see more of it man
