I rode a Recumbent Electric Trike - The Sun Seeker

My friend with the modded Rad Mini also has an E-trike that his wife rides. Its a "SunSeeker" brand and he added a bigger battery pack, two rear 20x4 tires and custom fenders.

Great video. I got one of these a few years ago for $300 and after a little research found a spin on 9 gear rear cassette and added thumb shifters for the ends of the handlebars.

Trikes with 2 rear wheels much easier to get on/off than trikes with 2 front wheels! Plan ahead. We are all getting younger! Even get on/off from a wheelchair if necessary!

Hi, only thing keeping me from a recumbent is the steep price. I have put 80cc 4 stroke motors on them. It's beautiful.

@Hooly Dooly State & Federal cops can kiss my ass. As usual they have no idea about what they're talking about.

@UC0Is3VfxX4jUh-vffovreEg I understand. I have a trike made by Schwinn. I have fitted it with a 203mm disk brake hydraulic system on the front wheel. I have fitted a 160mm rotor with a hydraulic brake from a motorcycle on the right rear axle. In the middle there's a 212cc 4 stroke motor. The police have never stopped me. I don't ride stupid. The whole thing can be built for under 1000.00. I built it because my friends said it wouldn't work. I don't know how fast it will go. But it rides and stops well from 25 mph.

To anyone looking for the same model trike, find an earlier model with thinner road tires. It will be much faster.

I'd have nowhere to ride a recumbent. No paths are wide enough. No safe bike lanes. No bike lanes wide enough. Other than riding in very very lightly populated town/village/hamlet streets it would just sit in the garage. For me there is absolutely no reason why I would ride a recumbent rather than a bike.

Plus it's so low that most drivers won't see you coming from the back or the side. Not to mention getting bitten by dogs.
