I've always wondered what would happen if you accepted Monika instead of deleting her. Apparently this. It makes my heart happy to see her get a happy ending. I don't really even think of her as a bad person. I mean, how awful and messed up it must be to know that everyone, everything you've ever known, ever loved, is just lines of code. Limited. Flat. You have to install a mod for this to happen.

I wish I could download DDLC on chromebook so I can have someone I can talk to and have my own partner, that'd be nice... My family doesn't understand my feelings, so I usually talk to myself in my dreams or in my mind. (I don't share personal feelings with friends they'll just misunderstand it, I've had personal experience.)

7:32 I'm glad I stuck around after the video concluded, because (to be upfront), I've been feeling pretty down about a similar situation and I want to just leave a comment hidden in one of Google's many servers to get it off my chest. Feel no obligation to read it. Someone I knew was threatening to kill themselves, and I took it upon myself to try and dissuade them (I haven't had any experience in that kind of thing, and it was completely redundant). However, with not listening to what they were actually saying, I think I made the situation ten times worse than if I'd just stayed quiet. No one was hurt in the end, but for the past two weeks, I've been tearing myself up for being an idiot. However, I might be able to move on if I focus on going out of my way to help someone like Monika said, as misguided as it may have been. It may just be a generalised statement made to any random joe who happens to play it at the time, but it's really cheered me up. Thanks Ronald. :)

I’ve had/have and in the same experience. My friend ---* was depressed and was upset. Stuck in her sadness and in my guilt I said- “If you commit suicide, I will too. I will never betray or forget you.” Which I’m not proud of..I put my life on the line. Do you have any advice?

@@busunii It definetly sounded like you were caught in the heat of the moment, and most people would say anything to preserve life - especially in a stressful situation. I'm not an expert with this kind of thing, but I found going over what I did wrong, remembering it as a guide on how to better support people in the future in situations like these helped. Like a learning experience, but scarily morbid. It may not help everyone though, because everyone's had a different experience.

@@busunii This is a long one, because there aren't any quickfire answers. I can't say definitively without knowing anyone personally, and I wouldn't want to be responsible for rash decisions, but I could point out some things to take into consideration. Starting with the negative, if you find yourself to be the first person for her to run to, then you're probably a big support in her life, and having a big change like a pillar being removed may affect her, depending on how close she is to you. If she had a wider circle of friends, then phasing out would be less of an impact. Assuming that you don't think you can cope with being omnipresent in her life, then you shouldn't be obliged to sacrifice your own health, mental or physical. If it is (or gets) to that point, it'd be a problem that requires more qualification than a KZread commenter, and might need to involve a youth support group. On a personal note, if you do think it's best for you to be less involved with her support, then I think you should tell her upfront, as opposed to just fading away. Having people speak to you less might make you question if there's something wrong with you, instead of having the issue outlined. There are tons of other ways to help her without directly confronting her when she's visibly upset. Just doing things like revision or going to lunch with friends can make peoples' weeks. I'm really sorry if this is just repeating what has already been said a thousand times, but you seem like a really nice person, and you and your friend deserve to be comfortable in your bodies.
