Wow, i grew up listening to this one ! VINTAGE
I had one very similar to this. It had only one cassette bay. It worked for many years until the kitchen steam and grease got to it. It had the best shortwave reception I have ever seen in this type of radio cassette recorders.
I love videos like this bringing old things back to life :)

We have a similar model to this (530) and we've been using it for years as a work and construction radio. Tough as hell and very reliable with excellent radio pickup. Ours is in slightly better condition, only minor scratches and just some paint and cement stains but it works flawlessly apart from a broken cassette bay but we only use fm and rarely line in. Great units, will last forever!
thank you for your uploads, it's inspired me to fix things around the house
Excellent restore. Love old cassett player so much. 😻😻😻
That is one amazing restoration
Good Restoration Done 👍 Thumbs up 👍 👏 👏
Great job!. Thanks for sharing.
Cảm ơn bạn,tôi thích video của ban.
Next time you should remove the speaker grills. That way you can preserve the "chrome" tweeters. Also is good to clean the shiny dust caps on woofers. Overall though you did a good job.👍
Not the most refined technique but I am glad to see these poor thing restored. One thing I can point out: you should have covered the tweeter inside grilles from the respray as the main speakers were removed... the shiny slotted grilles were were a distintive design feature of the model. I've had this very model as a portable during the 90s and I have fond memories of it, sounding very polite for the money. I still got it in my shop as a spare readio... one day I'll probably restore it. It's a humble stereo that deserves to live. If it still manages to function after being neglected and attacked by rust so badly it is a testament of how durable even 90s vintage electronics was... do not expect a modern switch or potentiometer to through that ordeal and still function, even the carbon trace will wear out faster than it can rust out.

I have a rx-ft560 , and I'm thinking about adding a bluetooth module to it. I don't know it the external input is amplified , if it's the case i'll be tapping on that.
@m80116

@@ShinryuZensen it's a line input level with sensitivity for about 0.5 V. Pretty much ok for any Hi-Fi, Stereo, CD player LINE OUT and also compatibile with headphones out once you dial a bit down the volume pot on your device source.
Bom trabalho, parabéns👏👏👏👍👍👍😀🇧🇷
very Good Mr. Tools...
Oh, I love when someone is washing cassette player mechanics like this. You can always be sure, they have zero knowledge about what they are doing. Also there is never need to adjust anything or put some grease between moving parts.
Fantastic job, i had the same in early 90's
Great work! Great content Would be helpful to mention the chemicals or tools used in the process

WD-40, Vinegar, Lemon, Baking Soda, Laundry Detergent. That's pretty much all he used. There are not many options for compounds or chemicals available in Pakistan that don't cost an arm and a leg.
You know, you could have played music from KZread's audio library to test out the unit. The restoration looks good and would have been nice to hear some sound out of it too.

Yes, that one or NCS also got a huge selection of no copyright music, also Mozart, Beethoven etc. are old enough, but recordings might still be covered by copyright. Also I'm missing a test of the tuner by using a FM transmitter with some NCS Music.
Very nice video bro I'm Karnataka Bangalore India 👍🔥

dam just shows how good these units were, just a shame mines going but it needs new belts not a full resto like this
❤Very Good ❤

Musel som ho rozobrať celý, a teraz ho neviem správne poskladať a to mechaniku Deck 1 a DECK 2 a tiež správne mechanicky uchytiť motor a elektricky ho zapojiť. Thank You for HELP .

Just bought a 2nd hand Panasonic RX-FT600 on Ebay, and one of the cassette decks is working, but audibly slower. You're obviously a genius, so any tips as to how I can fix this, please?

RX-FT590. 1990.J 👍
What on Earth is “synthetic vinegar”? We have synthetic versions of this too? Lol
You could have played a recording of something that's not copyrighted. Or maybe the electronics were shot and it doesn't actually work. I'm thinking the latter.
@supernovaf1

The belts were gone on the deck anyway and finding replacements must have been impossible, so just a nice thing to look at.
Not bad
Next time do a video on restoring a paper plate.
😮 like new
I have Panasonic ft 560 with perfect condition, I use radio sometimes but I don't use it now even though it's perfect because I don't have a cassette. I wish I had. I wish I had.....

You might wanna try adding Bluetooth capability to it. I'm thinking of trying myself on my rx-ft560.

I’m in the process of repairing a RX-510 at the moment. The tape mechanisms run slow, I notice the high speed dubbing switch isn’t working properly. Could this be the issue?

And this is why you should always be careful at what you buy on eBay or you may get something like this.
