It’s a good head canon but definitely a miscolor! Otherwise they wouldn’t have fixed it for Dragon Ball Kai!

Vegeta with the brown/red hair always looked cooler to me, it made him different from other Saiyans which makes sense since he’s supposed to be part of the Royal family.

An absolute work of art. Well done.

If i recall correctly the coloring came from his introduction in front of the camp fire and thats why he was colored that way during the filler. Somebody just didn't realize it was meant as fire light and kept it for a while. I believe those colors also did appear in the manga but only the one time while by the fire.

This is so cool!! As I kid I was OBSESSED with Vegeta’s alternate colors and was so thrilled to get an action figure of it! I don’t know why but there was just something about it.

This is the first video of yours that i watched, so then I went back and saw all the other ones! Your videos have improved drastically in only 3 months! Impressive! Keep up the good work, and keep making these figures pop to life!

Awesome! I did the same thing with a DragonBall Creatures Oozaru Vegeta a few years ago, except I undid all the battle damage by sculpting the missing pieces of armor. About 1/5th the size & 1/100th the detail of this Ichiban Kuji figure. I wanted to do it again with this figure but couldn't justify the price.😩

When I first saw this colour I thought it was a different character, and when they arrived on earth I thought it was because of the atmosphere why their colours changed which I thought was such a cool detail to have in a show. Turns out I was giving to much credit to a mistake.

The thing about the "wrong" colors is that, especially as a kid, it impressed me how far they went with portraying the alien planet: it's got a different atmosphere, which scatters the light differently so of course vegeta and nappa look differently from how they look on earth! But then find out it's an animation mistake 😢

Loved it. Great job. I myself do something similar with Funko Pops. As I really hate how funkos look with no nose, mouth, and with their wierd eyes. So I change them. In the end of the process they look something somewhat similar to Nendroids. Although I'm no as good as you are.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen someone completely hand paint a figure. Idk why but this was stressful for me to watch. I just kept thinking how I’d love to do this with my airbrush, at least the beginning. But it looks great. I guess the only difference I’d have gone with would have to lean into the reds a bit more.

Kinda late now but... DBZ BT3 has that Vegeta color scheme for Scouter Vegeta, that Vegeta can transform into a great ape with that color scheme So you coulda used that as a reference to help as well

Theres very little rhyme or reason to the different armor colors and types/ padding etc. Might as well just say that was Vegetas 'casual' armor that was destroyed with his pod

i don't have an original but i know that the bootleg is a little smaller, and that the paint job is abysmal compared to the real thing. from what i've seen from photos, the booty is also less detailed in the sculpt, like the tips of the fur and teeth are sharper and the cracks in the armor are more pronounced on the original. but it's also 10x the price so i can live with the less sculpt detail if i can make up for it with my own paint job. i actually bought another one to paint in his regular colors to add to my collection!

That’s actually an anime mistake too! Bulma’s hair is purple in the manga, so Trunks has purple hair.
