I'm 27 and recently lost my mum who was in her 50's after a long battle with alcoholism. What is important here is that you acknowledge you relapsed and are looking at ways to prevent it happening again. The main struggle we had with my mum was that she almost always didn't acknowledge her addiction. That's the big step. Good luck.

I'm 4 years into recovery with one 5 month relapse. Sobriety and healing is not linear (like any progress). The best thing to do is learn from it. Another thing is you have some time under your belt so you know you can do this. There's always something to learn each time we take a step or 2 back...stepping forward again is easier than the first time. Don't beat yourself up. Learn from it. Best wishes and happy new year ❤🎉

The holidays are hard, even without trying to resist temptation. Add on the fact that we treat it like the time to do things we normally wouldn't allow ourselves - things are bound to happen with someone, somewhere. Don't be too hard on yourself. Just learn from the experience and figure out what you're able to do differently next year and for the years after. You can't change what's done, but you can always work towards the future!

This is part of the journey, you’re not alone, stay strong and honest with yourself and you’ll be okay, don’t beat yourself up about it. You’ve already accomplished something great, you can do it again and make it even greater. Surround yourself with support and take it day by day. Thank you for your ongoing honesty and updates. You’re an inspiration!

Take each day as it comes. The first and most important step is you want to stop drinking. Good luck, good health and Happy New Year

Kind of felt you were most probably gonna have a drink on christmas day.Did the same shit when quitting drugs.Look for any excuse to get back on,having a bad day, boss pissed me off, fight with the misses or even any birthday, christmas or minor celebration.Keep ya head up and try and stay strong for new years.Don’t try and justify by saying well i have to have drink with it being new year’s eve or day.Good luck. Also nobody has ever succeeded by having a “cheat day” when it comes to alcohol, drugs or cigs.

Subscribed from Arsetralia. Mate I'm 65 years old and I've drunk 2 bottles of red wine every night for the past 20 years and used to binge before that........... My parents are aged 91 & 86 and look like crap and have everything wrong with them and are medicated and constantly in and out of ER or hospital. Neither can hold a drivers licence, they don't go anywhere nor do anything but exist. However they never drank or smoked. I know what I'd rather be doing. Jeremy Clarkson has recently come out and said his GP said he has another 15 years (75) until he's basically dead or damaged from his smoking, boozing, being well overweight, a stress head and zero exercise & the J man is quite happy with this outcome. Who wants to live past 80? I don't know any 80+ year old that doesn't wish they were 50 again. You worry too much! Have a great 2024.

Mate you have no idea what you are doing 🤔🤔🤔🤔 DENIAL = Don't Even Know I Am Lying Good luck with your journey but doing what you are doing ONLINE is setting yourself up for failure, when you are uo you will thank your supporters, but when you are down you can blame the negative comment for a lapse. 🤔🤔
