Great restoration and some great playing as well! One option that could have been considered was leaving the original yellow finish on it (if it was original, and it appears that it might have been). That would have given it a "vintage" appeal, but then again, it is only another option. Kudos!

I've wondered that myself several times as well. In my opinion these are genuine restorations. I've seen neglected instruments first hand several times, and the building of crud, dirt and fading of the metals is not easy to fake. You can fake rust pretty well, but not the general aging and fade of metal and plastics I've seen here. But, it is still surprising how all the instruments are spray painted and full of stickers... a couple of finds could be, but it begs the question on this amount.

I actively cant believe that they just find guitars this damaged. But i cant imagine this person wrecking them that much just for a video lol. Especially with how expensive some of them are. Like mosrites currently sell in the 1200-2500 range depending on model and year. The restorations are great though and i love watching how every part is rehabbed. Very satisfying.

And, when you were cleaning the pots with a wire brush isn't all of that debris and dust going right inside the pot?

Wouldn't it be possible to play the guitar alone in a small piece and then play on pieces of musical bases to hear the sound of the guitar in a musical context...? I suppose it's possible, but that doesn't sound right to me. The years of gunk and grime on many of these guitars would require lots of time. Unless he's got a backlog of instruments that he's "reliced" over the years, I'm pretty sure he's finding these in the condition they are in. I'm guessing there's a heavy punk/thrasher scene where these are acquired. But who knows. Either way, it's fun to watch! Yes?

Yeah, you're right that it's Japanese. But that's a Japanese take on an American-Designed Mosrite Ventures model (the Ventures became highly popular in Japan.) It's easily seen as Japanese by the neck plate being mostly rectangular, instead of it being the asymmetrical "peanut" plate. I'm a huge Mosrite fan, and if you want to hear more of what's inaccurate with it, here are 7 more things I counted (though there may be more:) 2: They got the headstock logo mostly right... But there's no Ventures logo (although the late 60s ones didn't have Ventures association either, nor did the early 70s ones.). 3: The tuners are not Klusons as they ought to be (though they could have been replaced.) 4: The serial number in the fretboard isn't placed right (it's too close to the fret) and it's not the right type of stamping die. 5: The Mosrite logo on the Vibrato Tailpiece doesn't say "of California" on it (not that it should, being a Japanese built one.) 6: The metal just under the "Moseley" name on the tailpiece also looks too smooth, comparing to my 66 model. 7: The Toggle Switch isn't the same design. It might be a bit better, though - I've had the design on mine get jammed a few times so it won't go into the middle position. It's fixable, but it's a bit bothersome. 8: The bottoms of the pickups don't look the same as on a 1960s American Mosrite Ventures model. It looks like the inlays are the right size, though.
