I totally agree with your thoughts on The Initiation. Everyone else I see raving about it but I had the same vibes as you and ended up giving it three stars. I read all three books because I got them through my library and I was interested enough in where the story would go, but each book was just three stars for me.

Love your thoughts. I agree with your thoughts on The Initiation, the men seemed a little too thirsty, especially the hero's dad. The drama gets wild in the subsequent books but I don't think you'll change your mind if you read on, which I don't think you did. I stopped in the middle of book 3, so I may just finish the story. Undeniable (Undeniable Series, #1), Sheehan, Madeline is comparable to G. Darling's Fallen Men.

I just started the Wicked Villains series and I’m loving it so much!

My thoughts exactly on the book Initiation. Just grossed me out, and I don't think I want to read the following books, especially after reading the synopsis. I just felt sorry for everything she had to put up with in order to save her family from financial ruin.

I have the Nikki Sloane series and the Giana Darling series in my tbr already. Can't wait to get to them. Listening to Much Ado About You (Samantha Young) on audio and physically reading Only When It's Us. ❤❤❤

Thy Kingdom Come is dark, not the darkest I’ve read, but definitely dark, suspenseful, bloody and action packed!

If you read Thy Kingdom Come, there’s something that’s revealed about the female interest that made debate continue reading, the thought kind of grossed me out, but push through, there’s a twist that fixes all that, the ending was AMAZING! The book was sooo good!

I really struggle with pacing and slow books as well. I've started to allow myself to DNF a lot more books now instead of constantly falling asleep while trying to get through them lol

Master of Salt and Bone by Keri Lake is definitely dark romance! I recommend it!

Pam Godwin! Her books scare me. I need to be in a VERY good mental space before attempting to read one of her books. Also, I know you like Trisha Wolfe. I've recently added "With Visions of Red" to my TBR. Maybe you could try that for something a little darker than what you read for this vlog.

You should try Still Beating by Jennifer Hartman or torment by Dylan page.

I think Abigail Barnett is good for dark romance. Francine Phal is also good(first name might be Francette) There's a lot of plot and character development to go with the steam. Kenya Wright and Sam Mariano are both good if you like dark mafia romance. Coralee June is excellent for dark RH. Kristy Cunning is great for paranormal RH. Crystal Ash is good for MC.

Books 2 and 3 are better in The Initiation series than the first book. I just find that there's usually not much plot with Katee Robert's books. I mean if you're just looking for steamy or erotica they're usually OK, but I normally need more. I read the dark Jasmine /Jafar retelling she did, and I just thought it was OK.

I am about to read a Sea of Ruin. I ordered my copy from the author. I'm kinda scared. I feel like it will a rollercoaster ride. Mean while, I am reading Moonlight Sins by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I think it's mafia light?

Tillie Cole's Hades Hangman Series was way too dark. Read them all, but man... some parts were hard to get by.

Yeah I didn't vibe with The Initation and I think the secondary characters made me not want to read the second book. Yeah I didn't care for the end, it would be better with different secondary characters. And I also felt like she was not into the initation so that affected my opinion. I need to pick up the Fallen Men series, but I've never read a mc book. Is that a good series to start with?

I was also grossed out by the initiation scene cause i envisioned ooooolllddd and creepy-ass men but i enjoyed the book otherwise!!!

I thought The Initiation was extremely problematic. I absolutely hated it. The scene after she lets him drive was so messed up IMO, plus the actual Initiation, and the ending. I love effed up thrillers, so I can handle a lot, but I was so confused how this was supposed to be erotic.

I did not like The Initiation, I thought it was so strange and to me it made no sense. Also the men were so creepy and it made me cringe.
