Because they thought limited time events were good game design...Somehow. The legendary-mythical segregation is just : One of a kind pokemon obtainable in game - One of a kind pokemon obtainable through a stupid event. The terms are just there to differentiate how they’re obtained, stupid i know.

I loved the pokemon manga

With Darkrai, I feel it's worth noting that it's a main villain in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness, but in the events of those games Darkrai turns good. Also, those games came out before Platinum, the first instance of Darkrai's Pokedex saying it isn't evil, implying that Darkrai was once evil, but now isn't, because of the events of those games.

@@Keqingsimp9057 I really dont see it Marshadow looks like the cross of a small fairy thing that can beat the heck out of you and a eldrich looking entity that can beat the heck out of you.. aka: 90% of all mythicals Zeraora looks like a cross of Lucario and Pikachu.. thats it To me its down there with Zarude as the least mythical looking mythicals in the game, but at least Zarude has some flare to it

Personally I agree, Zeraora should've been a normal pokemon, not a Mythical, it doesn't have that vibe, and it's a shame that it isn't in the wild or available for play through, and the method for unlocking it is super lame.

@@t1r1g0n Oh definitely! Pidgeot, Beedrill, Mawile, Banette, Houndoom, Manectric, Lopunny, Blastoise, Glalie, Gallade, and Medicham; all of these lost their competitive viability when their Mega Stones got crushed into powder for Sandaconda's Sand Attack!

I just saw his comments about Keldeo and mentioning bronies was enough to make it funny. I don’t know if the brony joke was intended as a joke, but we actually adapted Keldeo as part of the fandom, and is possibly the most popular Pokemon in it, at least until Galarian Ponyta came in

Best mythical is always gonna be Mew for me. As you said, it is THE mythical. The most elusive Pokemon in the world. Brilliant, simple design, amazing lore, amazing gimmick. The nostalgia as well, all of those urban legends spread around the world before the internet was really a thing for most. After that Darkrai probably does take second.

You should've mentioned how much of a terror Magearna is in VGC. Steel/Fairy with those defenses, fairy draco meteor, good coverage, and a heal move now with that SA is a nightmare to deal with. If you don't have fire, your dealing with a sweeper who calm minds every kill. And you can't Earthquake it because if you kill its partner, it also calm minds! Even in Ubers its fairly top tier.

I miss this too, but ever since they started calling them mythical Pokémon instead of legendary, they basically just became DLC Pokémon

If you can get it in the game, it's legendary. But if you can't get it in the game and the pokemon is limited to event, it's mythical

Darkrai doesn't get nightmares from Deoxys because it can't harm Darkrai 😆

I think it really depends where you draw the line with Mewtwo because there is so much anime lore and manga lore which just makes it too rich to ever be beaten. If you go base game only you have Mewtwo who is a manmade pokemon despite to be the ultimate pokemon which was too strong to be contained. So powerful they guarded only way in and out of his cave not letting anyone disturb them unless they were proven to be the best of the best. Which beats doexys up until the release of the delta episode but by that time we have seen Mewtwo transcend games into Manga and Movies where they have a tragic psychic friend with other clones who get terminated. Has an identity crisis and goes to battle with the very creature they were cloned from. While deoxys is a virus in space which gets blasted by cosmetics rays and becomes a powerful force of nature that does battle with Mega Rayquaza. It is by far a better battle but on a lore side it isn't as rich plus let's be real Deoxys is not the first alien pokemon Clefairy are the first pokemon referenced to come from space. Then again giant killer space virus fighting astroided dragon powerful he makes his smoogon rules

And if i remember correctly, in manga about PokeRanger: SoA, where ge was being rescued, ge was also called a he(not rlly sure but eh)

Victinis whole "fated for success" gimmick is a cool concept imagine every time you are about to lose something happens to swing the battle in your favor like your you VS Machamp scenario he would slip on a particularly wet part of the arena or something would fall on him knocking him out(when it absolutely shouldn't be able to happen) and you win by default

Manaphy has Tail Glow and Heatran is really good in competitive due to its type

Remember tho that in every instance of Pokémon media, deoxys was getting bodied by rayquaza. Not even for noble reasons, most of the time rayquaza was just pissed off lol

Deoxys literally bullied Rayquaza in it’s debut and only lost because it was barely awake. It’d have used speed form to dodge the hyper beam that hit it and knocked it unconscious easily.

Deoxys lacks battle iq and experience since it just travels through space multiple times and just fights space Pokemon that aren’t legendary. Rayquaza is from the solar system with earth. Not another. If a trainer were to teach it to battle better it wouldn’t make the mistakes it did and would win against Rayquaza and mewtwo put together unless they mega. In that case it loses badly

Honestly. I remember over a decade ago it was the common opinion to absolutely despise arceus because people didnt like the llama esque design. As someone whos had it as their favourite pokemon for a decade and a half I am happy the opinion of Arceus is higher than ever.

@@Alastordadeer I was playing Gen V a while ago (my PC broke down unfortunately...) on the emulator and I can kinda see why. A lot of the new Pokémon looked weird, and despite still being 2D the style changed significantly compared to Emerald, Fire Red and Platinum. I'm still waiting to finish it so I can give my full opinion. Overall I'm actually liking it so far tho.

Diance has a sword in the movie? Why? Why didn't we get it in the games?
