Thanks Stephen 🙌 I watched your Manchester marathon the night before and got a heads up about the hills, though I must admit given we’ve been through the NDW100 I didn’t think they would be that bad! 😂 I can absolutely see why people get hooked on the marathon distance. Well done Mike 👌. My 1st marathon was Manchester last year too 3hrs 47 and my 1st ultra is London ultra in 6 weeks 🤞. Great vids 💪

Lovely to meet you at the start - didn't realise the camera was rolling 🙂 That was a superbly judged effort for a first marathon. It looks like you really enjoyed the race - even the last 6.2 miles in a strange way! I hope our paths cross again soon. North Downs 30K is on our bucket list later in the year.

Well done Mike! The first one is always the hardest. Top tip, ignore the race predictor. Mine said 3hrs 12min before the race and 3:09 when I finished despite finishing in a time of 3:02 🤩

Well done Mike! I checked how you were getting on with the tracker, but there were two people with your name so I tracked you and a random stranger as I didn't know which was which! I'm running London tomorrow, similar to you, I've done a few ultras but this will be my first marathon.
