Great idea! I think you’ll enjoy it. My fam is full of nurses (except me, I dropped out because… no lol). Brother is a doctor, my sister is getting her masters in nursing admin, and my other sister travel nurses. Let me tell you, she was getting PAID. Especially during Covid times. Right now she’s in California, saving up for a home and studying for CRNA school. Wishing you the best!!

I’m not in nursing, but the theme of abuse from customers seems to be the common thread among a lot of customer facing positions. I switched roles a year ago to reduce the amount of contact I have with customers due to verbal abuse that was taking a toll on my mental health. I’m glad you learned this early in your career and have a plan! I always recommend to travel while you’re young.

i traveled for a couple of years to pay for school and even took my kids with me on a summer assignment in new mexico. i agree, that is the perfect time to explore and see what else is out there- not only in the community, but also different organizations do things differently. get that valuable experience!

Yup! My bf is an ER nurse…he loves it but I have worked MANY jobs and I know its 100% not worth it lol. You cannot have your head spinning for these jobs it does not pay to do so you have to put yourself first ! I’m praying to God I pass my nclex the first time…taking it soon and very nervous! And I’m excited to start my career because I did nursing for ME and I will be moving as such! God bless!

Yes, boo make that money I’m currently on a local contract and we deserve to make money for all we do and put up with.

You can do so much with your degree. I saw a lady on a podcast that was a nurse she said she made $30,000 a month. I don't know how but y'all definitely deserve more than $30/an hour. I was making $24/hour as a bus driver. Traveling nurse could be more and there's things you can do outside traditional nursing. If I could get my 20's back, there's no telling what I would be doing right now.

Girl get it! The work we do and the things we deal with 31$ is not enough. I have been a nurse for more than 5 years and at the old hospital I worked made more than nursers who have been working. That is horrible. Now I am working as a local travel making more than double and now I feel better.I don’t see myself going back to staff nursing any time soon. I will be off for February and traveling around Europe with my hubby. I can’t go back to asking for PTO anytime i will be leaving bedside but I want to do traveling to get my financial in order and some goals done.

I left my beside medsurg job after a year. It’s been 3 months since I left. I’m with an agency at a doctors office (not for me). Now I’m thinking about going back to a hospital because I miss the hands on aspect. I’m such an indecisive 25 y.o 😂
