    Airless solid rubber tyres belong on, fork lifts, mining trucks and security vehicles. If they made a bike tyre that had a honeycomb air cell that could work. Still need the similar feel of a tubeless with 70psi as a minimum with no degradation over it's life. Great tyre for a Brompton commuter in Singapore with nice roads

    I once put these tyres on 15 bikes for a company that was on building sites all the time. After 2 days the job was done. 30 tyres and blisters for 2 weeks. After the first couple of tyres you get the hang of it, but it is a frustrating job. The worst was putting all those plastic holders in the tyres. The only good thing about the system are those huge tyre levers. They work really well on 8", 10" and 12" children's tyres. Edit: You need to use the tyre lever to mount the tyre. It's a lot easier. And a one man job if you use the lever.

    I have had a lot of customers with these tyres on, most of them break spokes because the wheels take that much more punishment. If you're using them for commuting, make sure you have some stong wheels! Spoke replacement is not fun when you have tannus tyres, it will end up costing a lot more than usual to replace a spoke

    Then time trial disc wheels would be the perfect solution. No spokes to break, and spoked wheels provide too much vertical compliance anyway. Remember all of the punctures at Paris Roubaix this year? Problem solved.

    I had Tannus tyres on my commuter hybrid for a year or so (12km each way). Never again. They were perfect from a puncture resistance perspective, but terrible for everything else. Handling was sketchy - cornering was an adventure in the wet in particular, and practically no grip at all on white road markings. They'd literally slip off the top even when going straight. Far worse than pneumatic tyres, and in the winter they were even worse. The ride was harsh. I broke about 5 spokes in 12 months - which is a _lot_ considering I've broken maybe one other spoke in decades of cycling. The clips break after a while too, which means the tyre separates from the rim at speeds over around 15mph. They were heavy as hell too.

    How many pinniped did you get on your regular commute tho. Hateeeee saying things like this but I’ve never had a punny on my commute in 2 years with some gravelkings *touches all the wood* (pause..) Just feel like it’s too rare to bother with this faff haha

    @@hibillhotmailcom Not loads, but at least one or two per year. I rode them more for peace of mind, as the last thing I want to do in pouring winter rain is to repair a flat with frozen hands.

    For unflattable tires, Schwalbe marathon plus tires. They work. (Theyre a bitch to get on but once theyre on you dont need to take them off for the next like 8k km

    Francis I tried these tires and came across the best idea ever online, before installing tire to rim, warm up the tire in a clothes laundry dryer for about 5 mins, this warms up the tire and makes it 10 times easier to stretch on to the rim. fact!

    Cook those suckers in a big pot of water while they are still cable tied together. I bet it's a breeze putting them on after that.

    I had another Tannus product that goes inside your normal tire and still allows you to use an inner tube. It just adds foam on the outside 10mm to protect from punctures. They worked wonderfully and there weren't any compromises to handling since you were still using standard rubber to contact the road. Biggest downside was the 150g weight added to each wheel and relatively stiff feeling tires.

    We have horrible goat heads where I live and I’ve been using the inserts for a few months now, roughly 500 miles, and no puncture flats after getting them multiple times a week before. The added weight isn’t even noticeable and they don’t affect how the bike performs at all.

    Tire liners are light and add no stiffness. Can't even tell they're in the besides (almost) never getting a flat. Hell, they're cheaper than some inner tubes!

    I’ve run schwallbe marathons (35mm) for years as has my wife and a good mate and non of us have ever punctured. I’ve picked glass out of them and we all commute on them in Melbourne so the roads are far from clean. Only way you’d puncture is a pinch flat from not pumping them up regularly. And if you put a tyre liner in you’d be safe for all but a stinger grown out by the cops. Cool to see these put to use but I feel like the needs case for them is SO niche now days given tyre tech and quality.

    I got fed up with constant punctures on my Conti’s so did the same, 28mm Marathons (not Plus). They weigh over twice as much (nearly 600g each as opposed to about 240g) but it’s so worth it. I’ve rewritten the tortoise and the hare story! My conti’s (gp5000TL - well, TL for about 400 Km!) started to delaminate after about 800km. The schwalbes have done 5000km and still look like they did when I put them on! Only complaint is they are a bit boring, it’s sometimes nice to have an excuse to change things!!

    Great for touring and commuting with a belt drive. Probably is you really need to stop pedalling between gear change selection as changing under torque isn't wise long term with internal gears.

    The greatest advantage witg geared hubs and belt drives is no problems that come with chains! No oiling, no problems with said oil staining stuff, no dirt getting in to oil etc etc

    I had one of these years ago and they are really uncomfortable, if you need a tyre that almost puncture proof go with Schwalbe marathon plus, really incredible for what they do, almost one year without a puncture riding almost everyday as delivery rider.

    I tried these on my Specialized Creo E--bike and they did look awesome. I had the yellow ones with a black bike. The ride experience was dead a door nail and gave no feel or feedback, but I can report I got no punctures for the 10 miles I used them for !!! I used the 25mm regular and was glad the bike had some suspension built in .

    Using cable ties around the rims and tyre as you fit them to hold them in place works as an extra pair of hands, although they are slightly difficult to fit.

    I bought a pair of these in 2017. My commute takes me along a lot of country lanes with loads of crap on them and punctures were common, even with gatorskins. It took me most of a Sunday to get them on, so I felt your pain. I ran them for about a year and had no complaints, but I was petrified that I'd spang a spoke - if I needed to replace the nipple I'd have to take the bastard things off again.

    I use Vittoria airliner road runflat tubeless inserts for commuting. They protect your wheels so they're great for carbon wheels. I run em with GP 5000 S TR tires. They work great! Each insert weighs only 28 grams and doesn't affect rolling resistance unless I get a puncture. The inserts weigh less than a flat repair kit. It's the same inserts the pros have been riding in Paris Roubaix for the last 2 years. Been commuting on these for the last 6 months.

    Tannus makes inserts (Tannus Armor) that are a MUCH better option! Before I got a bike that was tubeless compatible I got these and they worked fantastically well. I used to get multiple punctures within a week and after I got the Tannus Armor I didn’t get a single one. Of course, tubeless tires also fixed this issue.

    I have these tyres and bought them because I keep my commuting bike locked up outside and it often fell foul to vandalism (yes some people really do puncture the tyres of parked bikes where I live). Anyway, this solved the problem perfectly, although at a price of ride comfort

    We used Tannus tyres (32s) from 2018 on our entry level Hybrid bikes. They were fine for our local country lanes and trails. Obviously they were quite bumpy but we were used to them and they do get softer with time. In August 21 we joined a cycling club and whilst not keeping up with he ride leaders our fitness improved massively because we were having to work harder to get up the hills! Last March at the age of 53 I got my first ever road bike 🤭Yes I stuck Tannus tyres (28s) on it!! I rode up Cheddar Gorge, ZigZag Hill and did my first 100m Sportive (in fairness, I did get swept up at 78 miles - numb feet and hands -bloody cattlegrids in the New Forest). By July I decided to try some air tyres and haven't looked back. I believe having to keep up on the Tannus tyres was brilliant for my cardio and I still have them on the hybrid (for now) in case I need to go somewhere stony, but there's no way I'd put them back on the road bike .....     I ran these for about 2k miles, and yes, they are harsh, but they are indestructible - biggest issue for me was riding in the wet, as they tended to hydroplane easier than typical tires. I switched over to their armor inserts with some serfas drifters, and am now at 8k on that set up without a single flat. The inserts are more or less the same material as the solid tire, but you still get to use a proper pneumatic tire and tube setup.

    Regardless of the hard ride & broken spokes discussed in the comments below, I think this would be an ideal solution for someone like myself who only rides occasionally.... Last winter, I took my bike out of the shed after a couple of months & found the rear wheel has gone flat. I work shifts & couldn't find the time to sort it out for like 2 weeks. The net result is that I just put the bike away and forgot about it. When I am tired after a night shift, I just want to go out for a ride and not spend an hour in the shed fighting with an innertube 😄

    Tire liners, bro. Really easy to install and they basically last forever. Been using the same liners for years. Hell, I've sadly ran over stuff that took chunks out of my tire and I could see the liner! Didn't go flat, though! Only flats I've gotten with them were from bad rim tape, a thorn going through the side wall, and over inflation (POW!). Not fun, but rare. I've yet to experience a puncture through a liner. I use Slime liners, about 13 bucks at Walmart. Only time I've had to buy new ones is because my bikes got stolen.

    When he mentioned still avoiding bits of glass it made me remember way back when, when mountain bikes first hit the market, I did a similar thing, sort of a tense cringe, upon entering a sandy patch. So used to what would happen if hitting sand on a road bike.

    In the 80's my dad rode from MN to CA. he used solid tires, so he didnt have to worry about getting flats. he had no spoke issues. classic springer brooks saddle/

    Definitely, city commutes for anyone can have their dangerous or sketchy moments and I can see the value of these tires, even from a time-management perspective, no worries about the time to dismount and fix a flat. And I started out on solid tires, four of 'em on my pedal car in a trailer park in Coalinga, California, a gift of kindness from an older girl named Sherry--I was only five so at the time she was a big girl to me. And I still recall my surprise when she asked my Mom if she could give it to me. I couldn't believe it. And I always called it the Sherry Car.

    A cycle tourist did the maths on these and determined that if he rode across America on them, the extra rolling resistance added enough time that a pneumatic tyre would be faster even if he had to fix a puncture every day. Marathon Supremes don't puncture very often, and tubeless is great now. I could see the point for a midnight London, Chicago, or NYC commute, though.

    what i found when i ran tubs, one removes them from the packaging, then leave in the airing/boiler cupboard for at least 24hrs so that the tubs, or even tight clinchers, 'stretch' a tad. they always ended up more supple, more round, and easier to install.

    If your in an area like the SW USA that has lots of goat head thorns they work great....or if your doing long bike tours where you don't have access to bike shops for replacement tires they would be great. But I read they only last 5000 miles so need to be changed by cutting them off. If you have full suspension on your bike they would be better.

    Marathon plus’s aren’t as bad as you’d imagine for the weight. I don’t use them anymore, but I remember years ago, when I hadn’t been commuting for long in London, getting a puncture at the side of the road with them (a nail) and having a complete mare (in the rain at night) trying to fix the puncture.

    Ive had the first version of this tyre commuting for several years in london. Its a harsh ride but its not a big deal, i like not having to carry any spares or worry Bout punctures. Never broken a spoke or anything like that.

    Tannus Armour inserts with smaller tubes give a good compromise. Had a nail through my tyre with no flat.

    I've been using these tyres (26" ones) on my two hybrid bicycles for about 2 years now. I really like them. I'm a 'utility' cyclist that cycles along lots of small country lanes that are often covered with thorns during the winter months. I cycle mainly in the evenings and at night, in all weather and usually carry quite a lot of cargo. I really don't want punctures! These tyres feel a bit different at first but I've got used to them and I'm not racing anyway. A while ago I broke a spoke and I managed to remove the solid Tannus tyre and re-install it again once the spoke had been replaced. I've just bought another of these tyres to try on my Brompton fold-up bike.

    I have these on an aluminum CAD12 and the ride was super rough until I switched to a suspension stem and seatpost. With the weight savings of not needing to carry a pump, CO2, extra tubes, etc it was basically a wash weight wise. And the ride has smoothed/suppled out enough that it’s an enjoyable bike to ride again.

    More cost and weight though. The total add up of the solid tyres plus suspension has to add over half a kilo. My mini pump, CO2 and a lightweight spare tube is around 300g. If you run tubeless you could just carry a tube and s pump as your odds of a flat is much lower. The added rotation mass from heavy tyres or wheels is definitely not where you want weight penalties.

    @@glennoc8585 yeah definitely not a performance solution, but with my setup ended up being net gain of ~250 grams, which for a winter trainer/commuter is definitely worth it. I’ve changed enough tires in the dark & rain for this lifetime…

    In my experience they aren't bad, just not great. Certainly, they're good for their intended purpose. In my case, I'm a heavier rider and after about 2,000 miles the rear tire was permanently compressed to the point that if it were a pneumatic tire, you'd feel something a little off while riding and look down and realize your tire was going flat with a slow leak. The front tire has held up fine though. I had 28's at the 105psi rating. I liked the Tannus tires enough that I got a 32 rear tire but that only comes in 80 psi equivalent. I slowed down significantly on the new rear after break in. As others have mentioned, handling can be squirmy and they definitely don't impact well (like hitting small cracks or raised road bumps) compared to pneumatic. I used these tires mostly on rails-to-trails crushed/fine gravel and on the road to get to the trail.

    Not had any punctures since going tubeless on my gravel bike but surely this is as effective on road bikes now? It’s amazing! I do notice some seepage with some tyres through the tyre walls but mostly totally maintenance free really.

    I bought a pair of these about 2 years ago for commuting. I absolutely could not fit them on my rim. I am a rather calm person normally but those things pushed me over the edge. I broke tire levers trying to get them on and ended up in a fit of rage and sent them back.

    one of my bikes has one of these, but I only use it for commuting (in the city) - perfect there! PROS: - nothing to be afraid of (e.g. broken glass), - no need to carry tools and the usual accessories, - you can use it practically worn to the rim CONS: - a bit heavier - harder, less comfort - rolling resistance is much worse, so unfortunately slower - you can feel every little bump with your ass - if you break a spoke, it sucks to remove and put back on again if the engineers at Tannus could improve these things, it would be much better!

    Have used Continental grand Prix GT tyres with Vittoria latex tubes. I'm 85kg and do around 200 mikes a week. Have never punctured, speed and ride is very very good. 👌

    I installed solid tires on my e-trike conversion. I pushed it home with a flat once. That was enough. I'm 72 yrs young. It took me three days to install the three tires by myself. I tried stretching and heating the rubber but it took Brut force to get it done. I fastened the wheel down to my bench. I used steel wire ties twisted tight to keep the tire in position and added more as I progressed around the wheel. I used two C-clamps on opposite sides of the wheel with wood shims to hold the tire in position as I stretched it. I then used my longest screwdrivers as tire irons to stretch the rubber over the rim. I worked my way around adding wire ties and adjusting clamp positions until the tires were in place... After the trauma of the installation I actually love these tires. They were made for someone like me. I have suspension on the front forks and a suspension seat. I just turned 100 mi on the odometer. The ride is worry free and fun. .

    I ride fixed gear with these tires, i love them! But can not skid anymore to look cool. Only when i need to stop really fast. Rode on them for 3 years, commuting 3 times a week. Currently on my second pair on the back wheel. The front is completely fine, even after 3 years.

    Been using tannus on my road bike for 2 years now. I ride for fun and commuting, not competition. Pneumatics definitely feel better and roll faster. But I've dug some nasty nails and debris out of my tires, and never having to worry about flats or leaks or setting the tire pressure before each ride is worth it for me. Not for everyone, but I'm glad they exist

    @@RideTannus Just bought a pair too. I mean it was 400 for one tire, but a very highgrade option from my local bikeshop was 360 DKK. This is really genius and hope I'll be happy with them in the future. First ride is in a few days.

    I tend to search for reviews on this tires like in every year. I would really like to have a flat proof tire on my commuter Brompton, but I heard so many terrible things about that. Maybe some days they will make something usable, then I would definitely buy it, until that I will use the good old Marathons (they are not so good in size 16", they really does not have the same protection level as the bigger 26" or 28" sizes, and they have a limited lineup, you can not buy a mondial, or a plus in 16")

    I bought these tires a few years ago for my motorized bicycle because the inner tubes kept exploding. After a few days the solid tires were all squished. In the end i increased the tire pressure to about 70psi and that solved the bursting problem.

    It’s good to see the technology has improved over the years as back in the 90s my friend had a set of solid tyres and they weight as much a bike 😂 and rode awfully (basically had a sand bag inside the tyre which says it all)…

    Tannus has been around for many years and it is very disappointing they they have not come up with a better formula for the compound of the rubber to make it more like a 80lb pressure tire. I keep checking them about once a year hoping for this

    I have a set of these. Admittedly I don't ride a lot, but with kids and stuff, I have enough other things to worry about. Having these, it's one less thing to be anxious about. I did get them on by myself, but it was a huge pain

    I got some 3 weeks ago. 700x32C for my Orbea Gain e-bike. I wanted no punctures- subjective - it would always bug me especially as I do canal towpaths occasionally. I got them on using the2 long plastic tools provided - i didn’t stretch them first and used so much force I thought the tools would snap!!! I got the wrong rim size tyres(21mm) and they wouldn’t drop fully into the rim (20mm)by about 1mm -I had to push them in from the sides. and the clips wouldn’t go in ! Ooops. I have a 180+mph motorcycle so I just ride them without the little plastic clips LOL. They seem secure enough given the extremely tight stretch to fit - I was risking they’d roll off in a corner…150 miles later they’ve bedded in and I might see if the clips will go in! I find them (32s)a bit less grippy than the 38s they replaced probably due to the reduced contact patch and/or 80psi equivalent (per Tannus info) in tyre pressure No punctures!!! It’s wonderful aiming at glass and sharp looking gravel. They are hard but much faster than the originals - and the steering is very flighty. Highly recommended if puncture threat upsets your riding experience. I’m 64, 65kgs - if I can get them on alone you can! But I don’t have posh rims so I could use a lot of force.

    I recommend two things to help put these on: 1. leave it out in the sun to warm it up and soften it before you put it on 2. use some pure dishsoap as a last resort to get it to slide over

    As the tube of my 16" front tyre on my Aceoffix bursts pretty often, I decided to switch to Tannus solid tyres (the 16" is Mini Velo, I think). Got the local distributor to put it on. I normally pump my tyres to just under 100psi (the max is 100psi on the tyre sidewall). The Tannus psi equivalent is said to be about 80psi (for this size, there are no hardness options). So, first thing is, the ride is surprisingly smooth. It was not jarring at all and was actually a tad smoother than my pneumatic tyres. I ride on roads and pavements so not the smoothest but not gravel and potholes. The cornering and handling is fine too. What I was absolutely dismayed to find was 30% rolling resistance! The effort needed to even get close to my past rolling speed was monumental and I could not keep it up for more than a few seconds. However, I am told that Tannus solid tyres news 50 to 100 miles (80 to 160 km) of wearing/breaking in, before this sluggishness wears off somewhat. If it does not, I will at least have legs of steel!

    Smaller width solid tyres might end up being more comfortable if they use the same materials and just make them smaller. On normal tyres that's offset by higher tyre pressure but it's just the tyre material, so it would be like a constant pressure even if you change the size. It'll be like running 70 psi on a 23c compared to 70 psi on a 32c. 23c is around ideal range and 32c is way too much.

    Since I bought my first Schwalbe Marathon Plus five years ago I haven't got a single puncture. I change my tyres couple of times but now puncture whatsoever. I believe other popular tyres like Continental Gatorskin are giving enough protection to not think about solid tyres like this one.

    I use Mr Tuffy tire liners and almost never get flats. I have pulled out pieces of glass that ruined the tire yet still did not puncture the tube. But they do ride rougher than without them.

    I'm the same with Tannus tyres found more problems than use for them, I am waiting and looking o see how Gecko Rubber Tyres will do as seems the company just starting out is just about to launch and hopefully the idea will be achieved. fingers crossed.

    In a former life I used to have to fit the original solid tyres by a brand called Greentyre. There were a nightmare to fit just like these and I've bent many a wheel trying to fit them. You used to get the customer back in after 2 weeks asking to swap them back as they would complain they were rattling there fillings loose..

    I've had these tyres fitted to my bianchi Nirone commuter bike for the last 7 years and they are still going strong after 17000 miles. They feel slightly more heavier than normal tyres but no hassle of punctures on route. I also find them grippy in wet and icy conditions. I wouldn't fit them to a bike for road trials but would always have them on my commuter. Also never broken any spokes and I've hit some rough potholes over the years.

    My partner uses a wheelchair and recreates on a hand cycle. These give her the confidence to do neighborhood park rides solo. Flats, and pumping are an order of magnitude more difficult for some chair users. Also, if you live in the AZ desert like me thorn punctures are fairly common.

    I use these, they are great if you use you bike to do errands and you have to bike with a log of weight, like getting groceries. I kept getting pinch flats because i would carry 50 or 60 lbs of stuff. they ride fast with a lot of weight compared to air, and that is the main reason why i still run them. they are not comfortable to ride on, but if you have front suspension it is a lot nicer. never broke spokes but have dented my Al rimes with them on.

    That's all I use is solid inner tubes) I won't buy a bike unless I can get solid inner tubes for it) I get too many flats and pinches even with slime, and liners) no air for me) I bought the one's by "bell") been using them ~8yrs) only draw back is they wear your tites down kind of fast) thats nothing) compared to checking your tires Every time you ride!)

    Those tires looks like the tires you can achieve on Zwift. What happens when you lock the brakes on those tires? Do they slide within the rim? Best puncture resistant must be to use sealant innside the inner tube.

    I rode a pair of some similar tyres from a chinese brand, 700x0.23 in a fixie, they had a inner solid tube with a harder material, they last for years since i almost never skidded to preserve them. They didn't have those clips, but never had trouble. You can fell unstopable with a more flexible frame, kind of balances the confort x security trade.

    I tried solid tyres about 30 years ago because I was fed up with punctures. The main problem other than ride quality was they lacked grip. That led to a bad crash within a couple of months. I went back to normal tyres. I thought they might have improved in the intervening time, but the tale about locking the wheel up badly enough to make a flat spot, and other comments below, suggests they really haven't much. Whereas regular tyres have much better puncture resistance these days - I've never yet had a puncture with Schwalbe Marathons. And there are instant-fix puncture repair solutions that will get you back on the road in seconds, that seems like a better approach to the sketchy neighbourhood problem.

    I ride 26 miles round trip to work on mixed off road (thorns!) and urban (glass!). I was very sceptical about these tyres when I fitted them to my old Ribble Audax 2 years ago but TBH they have been brilliant for piece of mind. No punctures ever when I was originally having to fix 2 or 3 punctures every week. Gutted that my hub has just exploded and it will be cheaper to get another wheel than replace the freehub so I'm going to have to fit another solid tyre to my new wheel now!

    Tons of goatheads where I live. I've always found the green slime tire liners perfectly effective against them. I don't know what the equivalent for roadbikes is. Obviously only works for tube tires.

    We've fitted a couple of sets on to brompton wheels but as a general rule we don't recommend them as they can crack rims and hub flanges!

    continental gatorskin tires about $50 per tire but ive ridden for over 2 years on central florida roads that are paved in beer bottle/windshield glass and metal scraps and not one flat.they make a "hardshell" version too that apparently is tougher but they are one of the best things ive ever bought.not super light but beats getting a flat in a race either

    I use Continental Gatorhardshell 25 mm tires and I never had a puncture. I used to run top end tires, but I've got tired of fixing punctures on the side of the road.

    I think the skinny ones may actually be softer since they will have the same resistance lbs/sqin but less surface area so they should compress easier.

    Bought a box of 40 experimental type similar things from a bike shop in the 70s orange or black was the choice .. Had a black plastic hoop as the alternative inner tube and crazy hard to get on the rim.. Lethal in the wet . And the spokes rattled loose after a few 100 miles followed by wheel bearing failures... Great idea in theory but I do not think any one has truly cracked the performance aspect yet..

    I used to fit these in 24 inch size to wheelchairs. I used to be able to fit one tyre on less than 15 minutes. Start the tyre in the normal way then fit zip ties, the move along and other zip tie..... and so on! O yes, and I used to do it on my own too

    Tubeless + liner + quality sealant and if your wheel aren't tubeless compatible get inner tubes with removable valve core and just put sealant in the inner tube

    A few things 1 most Solid Tyre's are meant for Mountain and Trail Bikes because they have Rear Suspension and are more prone to Burst or Puncture due too terrain 2 easier way to apply use Soapy Warm Water 3 use metal tyre leavers 4 while you can put them on both wheels are only really meant to be used on rear wheels as they take most of the Bike and Riders weight (60 to 80 percent of weight!) and see while less likely to get a Thorn than the Front Wheel are more likely Puncture Badly or Burst due to the Extra Weight

    Last year I put the 700 x 23mm Tannus tires on the aluminum rims that came with my bike and keep my normal inflatable tires on my Zipp carbon wheels for the weekends. During the week I use the Tannus set because my commute is only 2.5 miles. I did this because I moved to a budget-strapped city in the Midwestern U.S. that doesn't sweep its roads (or repair them really). Before I purchased the Tannus tires I was averaging a ridiculous one flat per week even with flat prevention inserts and stronger tires. Tannus tires are OK in warmish temps and no rain but I will now drive to work when the temperatures is below 55F/13C or raining because their traction is poor when it's cold and wet. I would never, however, recommend them for long distances or racing. Please think of these as commuter tires and nothing more.

    They need a special wheel that opens up and is held together with about 10 bolts. Like the old semi truck wheels that opened up with a big snap ring. They could kill you if the snap ring came off while airing up the tire.

    I put tannus on my tcr sl 0 disc red and I like it because flats are gone! It feels marginally different but I have another set of carbon wheels w pzero race sl on them so if I want I can switch them.

    I doubt I stopped getting punctures, but stopped getting flats from road debris after I started using tire sealant. Then I started getting punctures from the rim, then found out that the pre-installed rim tape isn't aligned, leaving several inches of spoke holes exposed to the tube. Now that I'm thinking of it, I wonder if that contributed to my first flat on this bike. The first blowout was while inflating a tire after adding sealant.

    When I was running Recyke Y'Bike we looked at stocking these in the shop at The Journey in Newcastle. The rationale was that we could sell them to people with commutes like Emily, or to Deliveroo etc. riders - people who absolutely can't afford to get punctures or for whom time would literally be money, and would be willing to pay the retail price plus a fitting fee. The rep from Tannus sort of persuaded me that there'd be demand for this, so we took a few pairs as a trial order, PLUS a set for me to try out on my commuting bike. I was nervous of the risk of damaging customers' rims, and wanted to be confident of the product before we sold it. Like you and the guys at the Backyard Bike Shop, I found fitting them an absolute nightmare (took the whole of one Sunday), and then on the next day I tried them in the real world... After 60Km, my view of them was that they're arguably the worst cycling product I have ever experienced. The ride was unbelievably harsh, and yet at the same time felt completely disengaged from the road surface, and somehow really draggy. I got home exhausted, with my backside and hands screaming at me, and took a Stanley knife to them (this is pretty much the only way to remove them), grateful that taking them off a the work of minutes rather than the hours it'd taken to fit them. I would NEVER recommend this dreadful product under any circumstances for any rider.

    I have them on a Brompton. They were great from puncture side and I can lend the bike out without worry. I had them professionally fitted. They were good in winter when the tyre was harder, but they were too soft in summer as when soft you had to try harder.

    Well i just skidded a 2 inch hole into my ultra sport 3 so might get one lol, need a new one but cant find any that are as good for the price, any ideas? I use it as a roadbike but im a fat 22 year old that does skids and dicks about doing jumps and practicing wheelies on rocky, muddy and gravel paths
