Why would Shaq win?! He's dominant as hell, yes, but his defence is significantly weaker than that of Bill, Kareem, and, of course, Hakeem. He struggles with his shot, slower. Honestly, only Kareem or Hakeem are the only bigs that would be able to win a 1v1 tournament like this.

This is while playing in an era with the more elite big men on defense than any other... and when it comes to offense they literally changed the illegal defense rule because it was impossible to defend him 1 on 1. Everyone in this game can move like a guard. For example, there's no way a prime Kobe wouldn't be able to blow by Giannis and hit a step back and have Giannis glued to him every time. Also Shaq hitting fadeaway jumpers? 😂 Not saying Kobe would win, it's just nowhere how I think it would play out in real life. Still really cool to watch.

@@lookworm_ well I mean in the "playoff seed" format you can get uneven matchups like a tall center vs a small guard and it won't be fair to the shorter player meaning it won't give him a proper "ranking" I guess. With the league format, they'll have a chance to against other players their size and make their ranking a little more accurate. It would justify like what Michael Jordan said once in a press conference when they asked him if he's the GOAT and he replied something like "Look, I played in an era where there was no Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Lebron James, Yannis etc and can't call myself the GOAT because of that." I feel like the league format would kind of give a boost in the MVP accuracy and actually show who would be the GOAT in some sense.

Bird is the most savage player in NBA history (not to be confused with the best in nba history). Dude would consistently tell the other team exactly what he was gonna do and it didn't matter. Giannis is built for 1v1, but 22-0 is straight blasphemy.

I was a very dominant 1 on 1 player in my late teens. I'd beat nearly everyone I faced and extremely badly. Never played pro or tried to but I remember this one guy who gave me a lot of trouble. He was huge and athletic, similar skill level to me but the size advantage made it so hard. He had a big strength advantage so it was hard to drive on him or stop him when he had the ball. I was shocked at the loss I took, it wasn't even close. It was that day I realized just how big of a factor size is 1v1.

I enjoyed the video! The games can't or don't animate some of the things that make some of these guys so dominant. I saw no sky hooks from Kareem (one baby hook.) He would have shot 75% sky hooks in a real tournament. Same with the Dream Shake from Hakeem. He probably would have only done 40-50% because of his other moves. And Jordan, well, there's a lot.
