I put dust under the microscope and found many skin cells

But I was (unfortunately) not able to find any dust mites. Maybe I have to look more...

    dust mites are more likely to be around bed area and in carpets, i don't think they like exposed surfaces ;)

    When you added the methylene blue, did you just “add a drop” out of the bottle, or did you dilute it first??
