So... The server didn't actually get hacked ? I thought that it would be a video showing the consequences of setting up a vulnerable server on the internet, and analysing what did the attackers do to the machine. Here we only saw the sponsor blocking attacks, there was clearly a ransomware attack shown on the thumbnail

I was inclined to say that it is just the thumbnail, which would have been fine, but yea... John does say that the server gets hacked at the very start of the video. This is an infomercial. Which we should still be fine with though, free information that is reliable even though it is partially commercial does not make me poop my pants.

yes the server is a vulnerable VM deployment, but he installed the crowdsec agent to defend it, which is kind of the point of the video. which either means crowdsec is good or your red teaming is bad.

i dont use windows server im not retarded but is this free and is this going on linux servers ?
