Great stuff! If you go-ahead with plans on doing the NC500 I'd highly recommended doing it out of season, it's pretty commercial now but not as much out of season as the colder weather comes in, also! when it's colder you avoid the midges, I'm from Scotland and everyone always forgets the midges, in warmer weather they can drive you insane!!!!! Nip into grannie helias for a stay .lovely site ,lovely views,very clean .

Wheels look like land rover rims, you'll know when you take the wheels off and see an adapter plate. Mitch, take the front wings off as they usually gather crap from the scuttle drain holes. There's a mod that involves a hose to drain the water straight out the bottom of the wing. The 2.4 is very easy to turbo 😉

A great choice there Lauren, loving the colour and in my opinion (I'm 53 mind) it has the best engine, a good all round plodder with no worries about turbos etc. I've driven my mate's 2.4 high top professional conversion camper and that goes more than well enough, does motorway speeds no problem and he's been all over in it such as the Lakes and it does hills no worries.

Rear engine water cooled engines were built. I had a 1986 from 1989 to 2006..This was a campervan of course. The turbo diesel engine wore out at 100,000 miles and the replacement VEGE lasted about 75,000. I gave it up then the and sold it. Your vehicle is very old now and you will have a lot of work to do but you are young and keen and I wish you well. I had a high roof fitted which was a great advantage. Sheldon in those days

I owned one just the same as yours except mine had been for carrying wheel chairs with a mid mounted lift and I loved it. I know have a autosleeper motorhome on a 2.5 turbocharged t4. The 5 cylinder makes them sound really good.

Club 8's were special editions. I had one the same colour (Caribbean Teal). They had painted bumpers, alloys, electric windows etc. They were available in green, white or yellow as far as I remember (been a while since I had mine).

Mitch, You will never loose any money on that price, you bought the best of the Transporters the T4 Caravelle with the 2.4 Diesel Engine, Mileage is just average for the age, If you Give it a good Buffing will look much better.

"and now for something different", didn't see that coming, but not complaining ! 100 times better than kipping in a damp, windswept tent... 03:30 , in the 90's, i had the joy of changing an exhaust manifold on a t3 pickup, this had a diesel lump under the floor at the back, nasty job, probably been easier dropping the engine out, but that was a rear engine water cooled lump... [audi?] keep up the good work

Your both going to have some good times in the VW when you have got it the way you want it. As for the NC500, i have done that, make sure you have time as the scenery is stunning and the other decision is which way are you going to do it, clockwise or anti-clockwise. I went anti-clockwise from Inverness as the left hand side is the more scenic drive on the way back down 😁

Hi mitch been watching your channel for a while, always been in to classic fords all my life but last year I sold my sierra cosworth estate F20YBT and ordered a brand new t6.1 volkswagan transporter swamper 204 dsg highline lwb kombi camper from van haven. In just over a year I have covered 20,000 miles .and in that time I have been to Scotland twice Wales, France Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany twice. 3 weekend's of every month we are away with the van . Really looking forward to seeing what adventures you both get up you in your new t4 🤟
