Not sure if you mentioned it because I couldn’t watch the video but Brian Williams said if a special guest referee is a part of a faction, and that member is one of the ones in the match that referee will favor his faction mate and if the special guest referee is a face, he will lean more towards being fair and if he is a heel, he will lean more towards being unfair. That’s amazing 👍🏼👍🏼🔥🔥

I hope 2K looks into adding in that feature later on where guest referees could also be included for tag team matches and so on instead of 1vs1. I’m sure 2K would probably add it in a future patch and announce it on X before anything. I’m crossing my fingers 🤞🏻

Wow! This actually looks beyond amazing! I know we “get the same game every year” but I love to see they finally started adding back some style to the main menu

so basically the special guest ref mode was better in Smackdown 2 which was released 24 years ago..

Heres the thing, its all well and good explaining what involves playing a special ref match. But if its too technical it completely takes out the fun of doing these kind of matches if you can't do what you like.

he had said that if you choose the 'dirty' option at the start of the ref selection then you dont have to worry about your ref getting ejected. so you can just beat up the other guys whenever in wrestler mode and then just switch to ref mode to count the pin with i guess the 'select' button

The royal rumble stable not attacking each other feature did not work in the last game, so I have my doubts about the ref features.

I noticed HHH with a dx entrance tron omg might we finally get DX back 😮

That tag team in the rumble feature needs to work for CAWs and their factions/Teams this year. It’s stupid when my faction is in a rumble match or battle royal and start fighting each other right away despite there being 6 other people in the ring

I feel like they can use that feature of a new ref coming out for more things. Like if they had a feature where the ref could get completely knocked out then they could add that cutscene where a little bit after it happens a new ref comes out

Can we just talk about the update to the atmosphere of the arena?!? It looks so amazing!!!

Universe mode needs cinematic promos that you can customize. Also, we need 2000 images for character creation, suite and pictures.

The level of freedom im seeing in these videos is so great for now and promising for 25

I destroyed a match today by doing something that I see a lot in real matches and that is the infamous quick count. I think I was playing as Dom so that made it even funnier since he's part of the judgement day. I will admit it definitly would be nice if they had expanded special guest referee to more match options.

So is Undertaker '03 in the game? I saw multiple versions of him in the wrestler selection

Nah that's there for the DQs for the Ref to call. The meters can be disabled so you can do whatever the heck you want lol

2K said they added more cutscenes to Universe Mode. I have a feeling it's just Special Guest Referee cutscenes.

I was disappointed when I found out special guest ref is limited to only 1v1 but then I thought “ok, as long as we can use it in any 1v1 modes” but now I find out it’s only for normal 1v1? No hell in a cell, no cage matches? Arrrgh! Oh well. Still looks fun though. I guess they’ll give us more next year.

In classic 2K style (and THQ style to a certain extent), they introduce a mode, a match type etc that people have been waiting for right before the new game comes out and then say "Well, we're limited here but if you spend another 60 bucks at least next year, then you'll be able to do this much more!", I hate it so much. In WWE2K14, they didn't say "It's only 1v1 in this game but next year it'll be available in multiple man matches!" no you could just do it in multiple man matches. One of the many annoying aspects to modern gaming.

@@JoshinTexas85not to mention the limitation makes sense considering irl they’ve had a bunch of one on one special guest ref matches. The closest to it is tag matches but that’s it. Keep in mind 2k nowadays go for more realistic than wacky.
