I really miss that. Strolling down a strip mall, ... and then finding myself spellbound by a musician who's performing on less-than-average instruments with a damn-higher-than-average vibrant skill. After the musician finishes, it feels to me like waking up from a beautiful dream. I miss this more than I miss being able to go shopping itself. Thank you, Jacob, for bringing this moment of joy to me, to us. And your skill, as it becomes usual to us, your listeners, seems to be off the charts.

These kind of simple pleasures are really meaningful. Maybe having them out of our lives for so long will make us appreciate these moments more.

To experience live music like that must make for an unforgettable experience. And Japanese people are a wonderful audience, from what I've seen. None seemed to be in a hurry, and was there simply to celebrate the magic of music. That's just so convincing to me. It must be a bless to know that what you do is meaningful and needed. Greetings.

They don't blow you away with loud hoorays etc.. but they really listen with all of their attention. I've been hooked ever since the first time I played at a small restaurant in Japan and everyone stopped talking and eating once I started playing so they could listen to every note I played. I was blown away at the concentration spent on my music.

Yeah, I usually don't grasp the Japanese culture, I'm simply not accustomed to it and it feels alien to me, but I absolutely adore their emotional approach to music

Well don't forget that there are 5? people showing their cameras in the faces of the audience.

Not to take anything away from a great pianist, it helps that the piano is in a superb state of tune.. even out of doors.

@@rudymahdeo8823 Piano Technician, here. When the action of an upright piano is regulated properly, to factory specs (such as this Yamaha studio), and the piano's replaceable parts (key bushings, jack springs, felts, leather, etc.) aren't worn to an excessive degree (

この曲を知ったのは高校生の時だったかな…自分で和訳してみたものの、この曲の哀愁漂う世界観が当時の私には理解できるべくもなく…でもメロディに惹かれたのでしょうね、今でも好きな曲です。懐かしい…ありがとうございました💐

Beautiful arrangement, performance, piano, and the audience! It says a lot about the level of culture of the nation in general, when a musician playing on the street is treated with such attention and respect.

I love how knowing the song you can feel those voluntary offkey chords before getting back to normal. Constant tension/resolution process.

Next level arrangement, and performance Jacob. Added to my playlist which is rare for an outside performance, as obviously the audio isn't nearly as good as when recorded in your more formal indoor playing/recording settings, which is just kind of what it is, not something you can do much about). The piano sounded very good, ESPECIALLY for one that spends any time outdoors, nicely tuned. :-)
