I was given a free car when I had no money and years later I paid it forward and gave away a car to someone else who needed one. It does happen :)

he's super lucky but it totally makes sense. the car rent company normally would've had to pay a driver, their train ticket for the way back and alot of gas. this way they just had to pay one gas filling and a ferry ticket
