Might have pushed them towards the current UI, but the want for AAA Mecha has been building for a while. Hawken died, Titanfall 3 never released, Mechwarrior Online is just an FPS, Gundam hasn't ever had a good game on PC in the west, and indies don't quit hit that itch. AC6 determined that the niche was still alive though.

I have high hopes for this game. Like Absurd said, be good gamers and answer those sus questions the right way. Monetization in games today is awful. Let them know what is and isn't ok.

Me too. Based on some of the trailer footage it seems likely. They also have a lore discussion channel, so i expect there will be a single player story to some extent since story delivery isn't usually a multiplayer thing.

As long as the weapons/frames customization is good, I think we'll be in good shape. The game looks fun.

Do we have any confirmation that we can actually customize the loadouts at all? So far from what I've seen these feel like distinct and set in stone mech builds that are basically like a hero shooter's "classes". Which is fine imo. It lets the devs craft distinct play styles and unique designs for each mech, if the parts aren't swappable. Not every mech game needs to be Armored Core but I'd just like to manage my expectations here.

@@getschwifty5537 I think I saw a video about this game somewhere that said customization is a thing though limited. The joy of AC6 was you could mix and match parts with only some limitations like weight and EN load. But I think this game focuses on a streamlined aspect that requires specific functions to be done. Definitely things like a transformer flight mode are probably model locked to specific weapons and frames. So no the heavy weapon mech with gatling guns probably won't be allowed to use sniper rifles. For what it's worth, this game seems to be focused so much on abilities(that I hope are customizeable) compared to weapons/parts which isn't a bad thing. I do like it having something different than AC6. I sadly haven't played the previous AC games.

Looks cool, can't wait to see if they deliver

I just really hope there's a huge PvE mode, I always loved PvE in these kinds of games, like daemonxmachina

I REALLY hope more single player games like this come out. I really love this genre deep in my heart and this looks so cool but I can’t force myself to sweat as hard as pvp-based games require to have any success/fun. I likely won’t be buying this game if it doesn’t have a campaign/replayable single player action

Team based third person brawler. Reminds me of Kid Icarus Uprising, and I’m a bing fan of mechs, specifically the Japanese Gundam like kind. Looking forward to this!

This game is shaping up to be what gun evo never could

Looks absolutely great, but I’m worried that the single player experience might suck. Kinda seems like a mecha version of Overwatch which is fine, but I like having single player options as well and often can’t get online friends playing the same game

I never got to play the armored core series as a kid so as an adult AC6 became my first entry into the genre. This game looks exactly like what I wanted out of the AC6 PvP so I'm super excited to try it out.

My only major concerns are that this game falls into the microtransaction pit that doomed Gundam Evolution they can have cosmetics on there, but each and every mech (including any new ones added later on) should be available to use from the get go, or at least give a way to unlock it through gameplay and not our wallets. Looks good though, I also hope they add a more chill PvE as well for that Power Fantasy

Yeah, I'm excited. The PvP was way more fun than AC6 PvP (but i'm not a fan of deathmatch)

This game looks like it has so much potential even though this is just the open beta test

the greatest custom mech pvp game of all time, circa early 2000s, PC only, was eXteel since it's sunset over a decade ago, i have been waiting feverishly for a successor, if not a downright spiritual successor or sequel. im adding this to my wishlist w fingers crossed, we finally get a custom mech pvp game in the same vein as eXteel

There is a coop mod in the works d For PC version Oroboro was showing it off in a vid and it seems to work well!

PvP is cool and all but man I want more story oriented mech games with Ace Combat/Project Wingman vibes

Man I was so happy with Armored Core 6, did 100% of it, had a BLAST playing that wonderful game (my GOTY), so imagine how I felt after looking at this game on the TGA? Holy fuck this looks INCREDIBLE and I cant wait to play it!

Since this is from Seasun games(the devs behind Snow Break) I'm sure there's a high chance there will be gacha elements. That said there's a lot of gacha gundam games out there that are either directly from Bandai or other devs/publishers in collab with bamco and yet this game by the looks of it "out gundam" almost every current gundam gacha games out there. So I hope they do deliver.

What makes the Armored Core different from any other game is the customization. If this is just basically 1 robot stuck with that 1 mechanism. It will be fun, but not for long

Hyped for this game. About time one capitalize the success of Gundam Vs for the international community.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. From the game play you showed looks like a good time. Hoping for some solid PvE as well. What really concerns me at the moment is that the company that is making the game is known for monetization. If it's just cosmetics fine, but in a heavily PvP based game if it's going to be pay to win then I will have to pass. Anyways here's to hoping for a solid complete game that is not locked behind paywalls. Glad to see the resurgence of mecha games though. Kudos to AC6 success bringing the genera back to the forefront of gaming. I've still been playing titanfall 2 while hoping for a 3rd installment in the series ;-)

I just want to know one thing. Do lasers still hit you when you dodge them?

After AC reviving the genre and Gundam Versus leaving us too soon, this is a dream come true :D

no idea on either point, but I can say it felt like a very team focused game so it doesn't seem like they are designing around 1v1. 3v3 6v6 and BR are all that's confirmed so far

As an Armored Core 6 fan, I am worried with the multi-player aspect. As a boomer, I don't have buddies that play games, I am pretty much a lone wolf , which was no problem in AC6, because after the campaign I got straight into PvP. And I don't think this game has a PvP, only a battle royal mode.

Any1 play Exteel back in the day? XD

No, this game is made by Chinese

So tldr, there are no part customization like Armored Core other than changing it colour. Also my guess to get the mecha or future mecha you have to pull some sort of gacha like Super Mecha Champion.

This reminds me of Starwing Paradox, the Japanese arcade mecha game Too bad it shut down due to the Chinese virus in 2021.

It really feels like another Overwatch clone. Which is fine. Hero Shooters have their audience. I do wish it was more single-player focused though, like Armored Core 6 or Daemon X Machina. Not a lot of those types of mecha games these days.

I had signed up for the alpha but the questionnaire spooked me off with all the monetization talk. I get that they are collecting data but even entertaining selling power for irl cash is a big red flag imo.

The have eastern servers too, and eastern audiences feel differently about monetization. I totally get the hesitation, but the game deserves a chance until we see how its monetized officially.

AC6 definitely feels weighter, while this seems more fantastical and floaty.

This look's like an RTS; turn table mecha game, with a Star Citizen type aesthetic to the game design and mechanics; also very anime'ish.

I'd just like to remind people that this studio (from what I can find) also made Snowbreak: Containment Zone. A TPS gacha game. While I don't think it fully translates to Mechabreak, I think maybe you should at least test it out, get to know what the studio has made before.

Tbh I think this game is just gonna have the same lifespan as gundam evolution or chrome hounds. All Im saying is that if you wanna play this game then better get it at launch cause its gonna die fast as all mech pvp games do sadly

The pvp modes we played had potential to be engaging long term. I think the monetization would be the main thing that keeps the western servers from staying full, but that remains to be seen.
