these videos are really well made my only suggestion is a turn counter on the screen or the overlay to help me keep track of what's going on. i struggle to keep track of turns on the tabletop without a counter so im not surprised I'm struggling to track on the video.

This is such a great concept, you should definitely do more collabs, playing some guys in person would be great too. If it gets enough traction, it could potentially become an official ruleset.

THANK YOU you for this. I’m so glad I found this. You guys are awesome. I’m 24YO and I can remember coming home from school at 5 and 6 waiting to play DOW as soon as I “finished” my homework. I’ve missed it, I’ve fallen in love with table top since I was 12ish. This is insanely amazing and hearing all the voice lines caused some unbelievable and unexpected nostalgia. The feels, the memories, thank you. THE PLANET BROKE BEFORE THE GUARD!!!

MATE I know that exactttttt feeling. I used to stay at my mate Cam's place over the weekend and we would ride our bikes back to his after school and just play Dawn of War taking turns for like 48 hours hahaha. Stoked you enjoyed it so much mate!

at 33:50 I believe OC is additive, so the terminators would have had a total OC of 4? vs the sentinels OC of just 2? right?

I was thinking the same thing. Came up a couple of times and I wondered if it is specific rules in the Dawn of War scenario/system he's built. in the video game I don't think you can cap with enemy units present at all and this might be their interpretation of that.

@@jwsntn170 You can cap but they're going to be hitting your guys in the face while they just stand there, and sentinels can decap but not cap themselves in DOW2 idk if they can at all in 1.

There are a few mistakes present in these videos, I'm assuming just fallout from 9th. We all make mistakes, but it can be painful to witness anyway.

OC in 10th edition is per model. So in the end and 33:54 the marines should have captured the Objectives. Both for scouts and termies. That of course is if didn't have a home rule in place! Other than that Great report!

Bring on the GUARD! HOLD THE LINE BOYS. Man I love seeing these as physical models.

Bruh, it was *chefs kiss* imo, much more interesting than regular BCs since you skipped over a lot of the technical nitty gritty like every dice roll, bonus action and 20 minutes of prep just show casing every model. @@ZorpHammer

Am I missing something or wouldn't the terminators retake the objective from the sentinel? They have a total OC of 4 vs the Sentinels 2. Same thing with the scouts at the end of the game, a combined OC of 2 vs the Kasrkin's 1. Also how was the Baneblade able to shoot it's blast weapons when in engagement range of the terminators?

Think that might be because its classed as a Behemoth meaning it can use it ranged weapons.

@@Zack_Wester Big Guns Never Tire allow vehicles and monsters to shoot AT units they are in Engagement Range with, but Blast specifically says you can't use it against units that are in Engagement Range of Friendly models, so you still can't use them.

The OC part also confused me as well. Either something about the DoW ruleset they're using simplifies it to per-squad or that's just a straight goof.

loved the little intermissions with Ollie. felt like "incoming transmission"s from the enemy in Red Alert 2 campaigns. absolutely love the Dreadnought. it's voicelines lend it the same character as Red Alert 2's Apocalypse Tank.

This is absolute class! I’ve been dreaming about seeing Dawn of War realised in tabletop form for years and you’ve done a stunning job, working in the economy, reinforcements, everything! I love the addition of voice lines from the game(s) as well, it makes such a huge difference and each and everyone is a direct hit of nostalgia right into my veins. Amazing job on the video! I really enjoy this take on tabletop 40k, as DoW was one of my favorite games of all time. Really makes me want to redownload it and see if I can still manage the Guard as well as I used to.

Amazing series, can't believe my algorithm didn't send this my way 6-8 months ago, been binge watching it the past few days! Would love to see more DoW games on the channel, hopefully not too hard to do even if it was putting together some alternative match-ups with armies you've already got painted up Otherwise would be fun to see some of the races which were introduced in the expansions like Sisters and Dark Eldar!

I really, really wanna see some Tyranids show up in one of these Battle Reports. Purely because i'd like to see how they handle this system and how you would run them. Probably would take a little bit of work figuring out their points and how their research and upgrades work. but you could take inspiration from some of the mods for Dawn of War. Absolutely loved the battle, very happy that the true heros of the imperium won. Real men wear Flak Armor!

Hearing some of these Chaos Space Marine voice lines sneakily inter-speckled with the Space Marine voice lines leaves me expecting the cantankerous groans of the Cultists spewing out behind them :D

omg i missed this when it first came out! this is an amazing way to play 40k and i love how you adapted the RTS rules into a tabletop setting!

At around 28:00 when you’re shooting the Astartes with the Basilisk I think you only rolled the hit roll but never made the wound roll. But what a fantastic production - this table has me green with envy and all the scenery is top notch. So dope!

Really enjoying the DoW content. Mid game went over to Elstonation to check out his painting of the Guard. I do hope Necrons will make an appearance in the future.

Wow so realistic. DoW was my intro into the massive world of WH40k and you guys are bringing it to life

As someone who started third or 4th edition and stopped around 6th... i was giga lost on some of the rules. but hell did i had a big grin watching this. you all did a great job with bringing dawn of war alive on the tabletop. great fun!

For reference Zorp. You can't fire the Demolisher cannon in close combat as it's a blast weapon. Other than that, fantastic video!

It actually can. The leman russ demolisher datasheet specifies that it can target enemy models within engagement range of itself with its demolisher cannon, and it ignores the usual penalties for big guns never tire

If I had to choose only one KZread channel to follow, it would be this one. Combining my two favourite games into one is awesome! Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing a lot more of your content 😊

I really appreciate this large table which lets 40k seem a bit more realistic with less of a shooting gallery that smaller standard tables size's.

Really do love this! Can't wait to see more! However there are a few mistakes with the 10th rules >Hazardous guns don't wound/kill on 1's. You instead roll each hazardous weapon after the attack and then damage for every 1 in *that* pool. >Sentinel with Ob-2 would not beat the Termies 1. It's per model, not per unit. So the scouts would also have claimed the objective at the end

I would say I really do love the idea of taking Dawn of War and making it into tabletop. The only issue I have with the game is I think it honestly be better if you are to apply a different rule, more like kill team where you can preform one action and your opponent preforms another. I do love the Fog of war idea. Though I think this game could benefit from a much bigger table to play on...and honestly the more I think about it, only apocalypse players or people with horde armies could play this game. I mean the amount of units you would need to use is staggering.

This is genuinely superb. The time spent on editing and presentation shows, and of course, the models are top notch. Bringing Dawn of War to the table is a fan dream and appears to be well executed. Really my only criticism with this one was that it felt like Olly did reactions after the fact rather than legitimate live reactions to what was happening. If those were actual live reactions, then I guess something about the framing made it seem fake. But obviously that’s a minor complaint, this vid definitely deserves more attention

I think next time I'll just leave Olly's camera down in the corner for those turns, It was just an absolute bitch to sync the audio because of the delay, we're talking over each other and stuff, so I just used snippets, which probably made it feel more unnatural I just could not be assed editing it through haha

Not sure if you’re doing something different in your experimental rules, but rules in the normal current tabletop game are OC is a per model basis, so 4 OC 1 terminators on a spot means they have a total of 4 there.

Amazing Battle report. Usually many battle reports end to be boring, but this one was very interesting. 160h of good work.
