i've played pokemon since i was about 5 years old, started with pokemon blue :) however, my favorite gen to this day is the 2nd gen. so i started off in the Johto region and picked totodile for my starter. my husband who has never played pokemon ever wanted to play it with me, so he also started where i did so we could go through the same places together. he picked cyndaquil. so far it's a blast :D

You and I are the opposite tho 😂. My girlfriend had always noticed I play pokemon and wonder is it really that fun, so I introduce her Platinum and Soul silver since I've the Heartgold version... and she become even more crazier than I am 😂. My team are Typhlosion, Umbreon, Kingdra, Ampharos, Sandslash, Crobat. Hers has Meganium, Togekiss, Golduck, Glaceon, Heracross, Ninetales.

honestly pokemmo is a great game who loves the older gens mixed with some aspects on mmo. i would say its not a perfect mmo. but the connectivity and online player presence is there. playing with a community is really fun. most people usually just finish 4 regions and quit. but those who create their own set of goals. that might be pvp, shiny hunting or vanity collection or something else, they can really keep playing for a long period of time and enjoy the game.

I played PokeMMO for a 1 year caught multiple shiny Pokemon,did PvP, collected a bunch of vanity and quit my honest opinion on the game is it's super grindy everything needs grinding, it's super fun for new players or people with friends but for the rest like me with zero IRL friends playing it's boring at the end

​@@KingSazzy No it's not. They made items in game almost impossible to get or pay real money to increase chances. Good game. But atleast they don't have breading. No berries,no word bosses to get shiny egg,som stupid crating system. What good? There 12 + 1 coming soon Poke force,hope they not ruin all,like previous 12 and pokemon world online did with their games. New player not welcome in any of these games nowadays. Or I am wrong?

@@DisguisedHaku you saying that assuming that your entire purpose to play pokemon is to catch legendaries instead of enjoying the game with it's non legendary mons that make up 95% of the mons, also PokeMMO does have legendaries, Rayquaza Keldeo Mewtwo Lugia are temporary but Raikou Suicune & Entei and Shaymin are perma obtainable and soon we will see more

Being broke as a kid was a blessing. I always hear people around my age (25) say their first game was hoenn. if I would've started with hoenn I wouldn't have played the older ones most likely, and since we were broke, I was always a generation or 2 behind on game consoles. So my first was yellow and then gold, my two favorites of all time. Its nostalgia though, if I played hoenn first I would've thought they were trash probably. hence why it was a blessing lol

The one thing that keeps me from playing this more is just the complete lack of Co-op, PokeOne did this really well but It's just not nearly as good as a game.. I'd give an arm and a leg for actual double battle co op in Pokemmo, it would ACTUALLY make it feel like a multiplayer game as opposed to just a giant lobby where i see other people.

Yeah, its a shame, but dont let that discourage you though. This has the complete 4 games of pokemon in one platform + you can see and trade/battle with other players! As for coop, there is actually one co-op double battle ingame you can do with a friend, but it requires the completion of Hoenn region (Pokemon Emerald). It is the Battle Frontier that is the endgame content and it has a coop 2 player battle against NPC.

@@stepitup23 You can play side by side, but you cant like.. enter a battle together. You're playing alone, just seeing each other in the overworld. PokeOne lets you literally go into combat against npcs and gymleaders with your friends.

if you have 3 friends you actually can double battle with other players, or search for rivals in the global/channel chat

I think it's probably something to do with balancing. Balancing the entire storylines not only for single player but also for co-op would be extremely hard and unnecessary. If you want to battle alongside your friends, you can go to Hoenn's battle frontier

Pokemon MMO is what they should have done in the first place instead of releasing all these new low FPS games.

When it comes to naming the rivals, I use their canon names, so my rival in fire red and leaf green would always be Blue

how many encounters or hours did you shiny hunt before giving up? it would be interesting to know (also slightly funny to us hardcore shiny hunters in mmo doing eggs and single encounters haha I swear 5x hordes seem so free to us lol)

If you have everything to stack your odds, the average time is about 300 hours. The rate is 1/30,000. Without charms or donation, it's about 450~ hours. Shinies are held to a much higher pedestal than in normal games and owning one while just hunting (not buying) is a massive event in shiny hunting guilds. It's a lot of fun even if it takes forever to get one. Join a shiny hunting guild after completing all the gens, and you'll have a good time

Shines are that rare here? Wow I remember I got a shiny paras when I tried it years ago and thought it was much easier due to me actually finding one.

are you using a mod or smth to make the health bars bigger while fighting?

I don't know if its still the case from normal hoenn but if you use a sableye in the fighting gym they won't be able to hurt you since its both dark and ghost type

lol that free deino is so relatable. I was having trouble defeating misty 2nd gym, so I decided to catch and train an oddish, But then someone randomly gave me a lvl 26 Electrode and I used that to beat her. Fun times.

Holy shit, i never thought that pokemmo is actually a thing, imagine this officially programmed and released by pokemon, this would be crazy. I feel like this would be the greatest thing they could do in order to save the franchise and and gain back its glory. This could be an amazing future of pokemon.

@kingp260 apparently the prenerfed version can be used to cheese certain fights, so i get it. But if they're gonna do the lazy thing and alter just shedinjas' ability, they should also buff something else. It's just a slightly better mimikyuu ability but completely gutted cuz sheidnja still has 1 hp.

If you’re just starting I’d recommend buying HM ocarinas. You do need to purchase shop points to get them but the quality of life is worth it. They’re $2 each.

Thats what makes the game. Its an mmo and being able to catch a pokemon and sell it for a ton if you’re lucky is alot of fun even if you just want to collect OTs try this game

It's slow as ☠️, and some moves not codded, copy cat for example,I mean come-on it's the same mirror move... But mirror move codded. And they don't work on game just making events with colored or painted mons, (sometimes ugly) and vanity allot for money. PRO is greedy stuff that ruin this game soon.

Honestly, a real live service MMO Pokemon game not existing in an official way is a huge missed opportunity to me. Episodic releases of regions as full price expansions, with a competitive meta shifting as gens are seasonally introduced (like Duel Links), regular live events for FOMO feat. legendaries, rares or unique ability/move Pokemon, or even new exclusive Pokemon for each region (imagine Kanto variants of later gen Pokemon), events with alt. game modes like tag battles with an actual player partner, they could monetize with a battle pass, accessories for Pokemon, rare items, maybe even sell extra shiny luck Why is it NOT a thing

@@BeefSalsaa People have always bought the 1st game of a gen even when they know the upgrade (i.e. Emerald, Platinum, B&W2, US&M) were due in the coming years. Just needs to be time-delayed, and again you could sell it as an expansion.

Honestly, Pokemon is my favorite game of all time, played since GBC releases. But Nintendo and Pokemon have missed so many big opportunities over the years, they get away with it because they have one of the greatest intellectual properties of all time, but with the amount of money they have they should be dominating the MMO market, but choose to make crappy games and microtransaction ridden phone games. Sad really.

I wouldn't know which region to start in honestly. My first pokemon game was Ruby but to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of hoenn..... or maybe zigzagoon is tainting my memory of it... Idk

The game is good but it is too slow, I am used to hit the space button to fast forward on the GBA lol
