I do think the game getting constantly powerful secret cards that are 4xs is a huge problem

I 100% agree. In a lot of the older sets you really only needed a couple of each secret rare.

Yeah right let’s make secrets as good as rares, price will be a joke the box won’t be worth it, apocalymon was op though but the rest are fine because that’s how secrets should be.

I remember about a year ago, you could make a top tier deck for fairly affordable (around like $60 maybe a hair more) but I've been lookin into decks that I have a good chunk of items for and even then it's still closer to $100 now. Because EVERYTHING requires Ukkomon (promo) and new BT16 it's quickly adds $40-50 out the gate. I looked into a poop deck and ball park it's $110 - 120.. like.. ugh..

See, most of the game has been having a give and take balance while letting even non-meta decks thrive compared to other games. But MagnaX from BT16....it's a problem. It's a classic card game balancing issue that they all eventually fall to, making a card so strong that it has so few counters that you pray your next card let's you do so or you have to play an entire deck designed specifically counter it. Now Bandai is usually pretty good at finding this issue and tackling it, they did when Susanoomon came out and banned Mega Digimon Fusion, but if they plan to start doing world releases on sets, they need to start finding the problem child during playtesting BEFORE printing the release, otherwise they won't be banning cards fast enough or they go the line of Yugioh and keep it as is for the sole purpose of making money. For the longevity of the game(if they don't implement a rotation system like Pokémon), they do the right thing and go trough past cards and match it up with the yet to be released cards and ask themselves "How can players potentially break this game with this card?"

I think I’d like be a hit more positive on Bandai at least for this TCG since It was very forward thinking of them to deal with Apocylmon and Anubis before it got toxic but I do think unless magna X and Rapid are taking up over 50% of top cuts we should be ok for the most part

@tntkaboomsky7427 That's a fair assessment, I'm still worried about the Gummy Bears deck right now as well. I have a friend who runs it, and all my decks can't even compete despite being strong and around a High T2 - Low T1 range. Once he gets MonzaeX, I struggle.

@@ShadeRider1 true but there are enough techs that's feasibly you can deal with it. Especially if you can tech crimson blaze or ultimate flare to wipe the board. but I can understand how frustrating it is to get blasted by platinum nume from trash

The game may not be pay to win, but it certainly is pay to have a chance to win lol. Try going to a regionals without deathx and ruin mode. The amount of power those cards hold makes them staples in many (not all, but many) decks. Don't have a deathx or a ruin mode? Might as well take your loss now. I'm not saying ban the cards, I'm saying they need a reprint to make them more accessible to players. Deathx is getting another alt art. Where is ruin modes?

I partially agree . Its true that every card game gets its stronger and more kinda busted cards , its still about what weaknesses they have and how to counter it . The only card game that doesnt go overboard was Duel masters. Even the most powerful can be still be destroyed by simple effects. I dont know how Duel master is nowadays in Japan because its still to this day their number 1 cardgame but they actually knew how to balance their game . But thats the only cardgame i know that doesnt go so overboard with their cards and balance .

It just mainly sucks because the “retail” price of the booster boxes haven’t gone uo so to speak but because of chase cards you’re at the mercy of websites and retailers because chase cards like Magna X are in there so the prices shoot up. This was the first time since bt12 I haven’t bought a booster box. Because it shot up from $85/90 to 130 overnight.

I wanted Magnamon just cause he looked cool and I like Armor Purge as a trait. But he is expensive and I don't care for yellow.

The twist endings are giving M Night Shyamalan a run for his money!

Are you going to do an updated D-Brigade Deck. I am curious to see how the build with Chaosmon will look like.

@AVAULT I know Set 16 is amazing! I have seen D Brigade go back to a Mono Black version with the new cards especially the new Metropolitan Police option card, Sealsdramon, and Tankdramon. Which are great new additions. I plan on testing that out to see how it does.

Ooh Virus Imperialdramon? Looking forward to "evil" Avault in the next ACU edit: aww no tyrant player found. Perhaps one day us bugs will be a worthy challanger.

My locals is filled with rats who have only been using Magna x since it came out. Taking a break till they do something with the ban list.

All TCG games are pay to win. Especially if you want to be at the top level. The trick is to not buy into it all, especially if your locals isn't that high level.

You said it. Power creep is how TCGs make money and that is pay to win in a nutshell. Some card games aren't so bad with this. Living Card Games especially, but YGO and MTG are the most egregious of all of them

Skill is still a factor but as with every card game, expensive cards still play a big factor. Though with digimon, power crepe has definitely affected the price of meta decks.

When you slap SEC on SEC yeah it is kinda pay to win. You dont need any intricate planning or deckbuilding when doing the gamebreaking plays breaks the game.

Oh man Virus Imperial. Such a fun deck but also kinda slow to setup. But way more consistent with promo Shadramon and the new Dinobee. Excited to see how it went for you!

At the I didn't see the answer of the question. Besides everything every has said about this set, my and a friend of mine we have seen the power creep of this game is too accelerate. You kind of need to chance your deck every set (or every 2 sets) to keep in touch. But in case of Magna X, it got to ridiculous levels. I also understand the nature of business which is money (no problems with that), but I think Digimon is getting unenjoyable nowadays, with no meta-decks that are around 80~100 dollars. Me personal I hate investing a lot money in a deck just because otherwise I will pulverized.

How you pulled these out of a Dimensional Phase booster pack is what I can’t get over 🤣 😂

Yo, but jokes aside it would be great if we could get BT16 product here is south Texas, it’s been 3 weeks + since the release of BT16 and we haven’t gotten any BT16 product besides pre-release, some prize packs at some not all locals and your occasional random adventure box that you’re lucky to find. BT16 will be over by the time we get product, very disheartening
