I lived in the same block as Reg and his family last year - he is genuinely one of the kindest people, and a total legend of East London (he tells fascinating stories of the old east-end incl encounters with the infamous Kray twins). When moving house, my transit plans fell through last minute…he kindly offered to take me to the new place and we managed to squeeze all my possessions into his cab! He even tried to refuse payment when we arrived. What a incredible guy and an inspiration for all. 👏🤝

24:50 Jesus Christ for some reason it had me tearing up I usually never so but to the point of bringing him to Paris and making him sleep in a castle, the amount of generosity they gave this old man.. oh my God. He even asked what he has done to deserve this.. this is absolutely beautiful. I never expected this to be such a beautiful story and adventure and thought it was just a simple-like normal theory kind of video but it completely changed my mind. I woke up feeling really down today. Every now and then, I remember my mother who had passed away 2 years ago. We didn’t have much growing up but she loved to travel and meet people. I don't think you could have found a more awesome and deserving person to have as your driver. Absolute perfect choice. It's also amazing to see people share their stories of Reg as their driver in the comments. That a taxi ride stuck with those people says a lot about the kind of person he really is.

I think this is my favorite video on KZread. You guys always manage to find the perfect character to enhance the journey.

I drove a Cab from London to Mongolia, via Iran in 2007. I clocked the fare all the way there. £26,000 rounded down. Great journey. The Cab still sits outside a bar in Ulaan Bator. I sold it for charity and the bar bought it.

Iran was the only country where the border guards were corrupt and blatently kidnapped me. They demanded $70 to give my passport back. If I didn't I'd be picked up down the road and with no passport be jailed as a spy. The rest of Iran was very welcoming. I was lost looking for the oil office in Tabriz on my first day (this was during heavy sactions on Iran by the US and UK - they were rationing petrol and Diesel). Trying to find someone who spoke English on a morning saw one man on his way to work stop to get me a taxi and then came with me to the oil office and explained what I wanted. He then went off to work (now late) and refused anything but thanks. One person in Mashad in the far east of Iran saw me get into the Cab first thing on a morning and was overjoyed, telling me he had lived in London years before and that it reminded him of that and he never thought he'd ever see one in his home town. He ran a market stall and insisted I take sevral sandwiches, boxes of Pringles and large bottoles of coke as a thank you for making him happy that morning. It is illegal to leave the country with the currency (Rials) so I went around the market on my last day and gave it all away to beggars. Felt good. I tried to buy diesel in the countryside somewhere at a garage and the guy spoke no English and was just mesmerised by theis ancient looking vehicle. I gave him a postcard scene of London and he absolutely refused to accept any money for 80 litres of diesel. On the whole, border guards excpeted, I found the people of Iran to be extremely lovely. I have other stories of their kindness and offers to help, but I've gone on long enough. Other poor guards with guns in Khazakstan and Tajuikstan just took small amounts of money or cigarettes, but that was largely offered by me, not to facilitate anything, just as a freindly gesture. Turkmenistan was the most ovbiously odd country. I was followed by state security...literally four steps behind me, everywhere I went. It was blatent. They bugged my room, moved my bags to other rooms, followed me everywhere and I was only allowed in the country for 48 hours. @@MyUnoriginalUsername

Personally I would give him the cab and then he can start his own company with the 10k. He can purchase more cars to lease to drivers and hire someone to run the phone lines. One man’s trash is another’s treasure. 10k isn’t much to start a business in reality. I am just stating what I would personally do in the situation. To each their own.

Had a Sikh cab driver in a town near Toronto that I got to know a few years back. Me and my friends ended being driven all around by this man and sometimes his wife, even met his son. Amazing family. When we were in a hurry he'd put on a cassette (yeah, old school) of trad music from his part of india and would drive insanely fast. Amazing guy!

honestly probably the best youtube video i ever watched... finally a video where a lucky person gets to go a on a spontaneous trip and truly enjoy themselves with some random people they just met... but you know.. the best part of the video, Reg. Cockney Reg, is perhaps one of the most genuine people i have ever watched go on a trip with KZreadrs and truly embrace for what it is and enjoy himself so much and I know hes going to be telling the story of his trip to next few hundred of passengers he drives... Reg truly made this video my FAVORITE video ever.

This is amazing! 4 years ago I was visiting London and having the worst day of my life when Reg pickup me up and drove me to my hotel. We had a conversation on the way there and he offered me some advice which actually gave me perspective at a point where I was close to losing hope. I often think about him and how much his words touched me when I was at my lowest point. So great to see someone who has probably given so much to so many strangers receive that same kindness from strangers!!

In the end when he is hugging everyone, he cries and calls them "mera puttar" in Punjabi. "My sons" in English hits one way, but the same thing said in his native language, filled with emotions, shows how genuine he is and so is that moment. Loved this video. I did not intend to watch it because it was long, but I ended up keeping everything aside to watch it completely in 1 go. This was my first Yes Theory video. And I am a proud subscriber now.

Why do you have to make me cry again at the end? It's been what 9mths since I watched this the first time and it was just as great watching it the second time around at the end of April, 24. So glad that at 69yrs of age you gave this wonderful man a chance to see other Countries that he'd never had the time to do before because working 6/7 days a week and raising a family he could never take a holiday. People like Reg are few and far between and I'm so happy to see we still have Great People with Good Hearts in the UK.

As a fellow Sikh with a dad who wears a turban, I have never felt so proud to call myself that. Reg is honestly an incredible representation of the values in the Sikh community that I have grown up seeing all around me and will continue to do so that in turn, one day my children will do the same. The world is simply a better place with people like Reg in it. I feel so much gratitude for you guys giving someone like Reg an experience like this, it really has touched my heart. Thank you and please continue to do what you're doing and giving people the most incredible experiences

I’ve worked with a couple of Sikhs in the past and they were the warmest most welcoming people. Reg was definitely a true reflection of the values I’d experienced in the past. Beautiful culture.

I'm from the UK and at the age of 30 I have never been further than the channel islands, watching this really makes me want to visit some really special places. the kindness you showed to not just Reg but everyone watching this video is inspirational.

What really amazes me is that Reg drives for 48 years, likely living a regular life and a random encounter coupled with his inner beauty brings about a life moment that most never gets to experience, a break that puts him in the hearts of millions. Moral of the story, keep being nice and open to chaos, life is full of sweet surprises. You are in one more heart now, Reg, love you!

I was thinking to myself “how do you always find the most perfect people for these?” I realized it’s because so many incredible people are out there, good people are common. That’s comforting to realize.

My father is also an immigrant. From Germany, he worked his whole life to support a mixed family of 9 . now 73 he takes care of his mom. He wold love to get out. Love this channel. Makes me forget a little, yet be motivated. Thank you.

I’m born and raised In London but now live down the bottom of England, Reg is what you’d call a proper bloke. Let’s get this man his own KZread cab show (I think that would be hilarious) where you have a talk show in the cab while driving around the country and on each journey he stops off to explore something different. Just take a shower. You will feel better and refreshed. Look outside. Go for a walk. Meet up with some friends or family. You will feel less isolated. It helps to dedicate 2 hours being off your phone, and outside your room. If you don't feel up for it, just open the curtain and allow some light in. It really helps being in a place with natural light. I hope this helps, and that you develop the skills to deal with your depression.
