Japan ps4 because it just straight up is good

That PS4 Dragon Quest Console is a real console and one that is rare in the Dragon Quest community, and that gold piece is a Slime in other words a Golden Slime. Also, there is a silver PS4 version too

The "gold blob" is just a Slime. Lol. Designed by the late Akira Toriyama, no less. Very iconic. That PS4 looked awesome

Definitely a cool looking ps4, despite it being based around a series I know nothing about lol. I was surprised to open it up and see a ps4 variant I’ve never seen before. I’ve seen so many, but some how never ran across this one. And here we are with the ps5 having like 1 special variant 😂

Yeah, I knew I'd seen it somewhere, it was bugging me, but then I saw the Dragon Quest and the penny dropped, I knew why I recognised it! (I haven't played Dragon Quest, but I am tempted now, especially since... you know... Blue Dragon is also on my To-Play List, while Series 2 is on my To-Watch List and Dr. Slump is on my Lookout List! And, no, that PS4 looked damned awesome! Get it right!)

PS4 consoles are region free when it comes to games. You can swap the x/o in system settings for japanese cpnsoles. The only thing is that DVDs/Blu-rays are region locked.

The only reason why I managed to watch ANY Of them with no issue is thanks to having a modded (chipped) PlayStation2 since day 1 ... later some DVD players were region free. Usually its labeled as PAL / NTSC then both further split to different regions codes (numbers) The players or consoles can be region free but the actual media releases are not.

The Dragon Quest Blue PS4. Akira Toriyama was the artist for the Dragon Quest games. I believe they released this design for either Dragon Quest Heroes or Dragon Quest XI. Either way, VERY beautiful console.

Found a playstation 4 pro latest version yesterday in a torn up bag sandwiched between two old laptops on the thrash pile near work. Still worked. Had to update the system software, but other than that it works fine. Same place as where we found a boxed Megadrive, punk records and vintage toys like Castle Greyskull to name a few. The stuff people throw away as trash still keeps surprising me, even after all these years as a thrift store employee.

There's actually a limited edition 2DS XL made in the same vein as that PS4. It's black with a silver metal slime protruding from the top of the console.

I had an old 360, it had that annoying plastic thing sticking off the AV cable that blocked the HDMI. In order to use my HDMI and also plug the audio in for my headphones, I sawed off that piece of plastic with a kitchen knife. It worked.

Btw you don’t need to use a converter on that Japanese PS4 as it’s multi voltage so it can be played anywhere in the world all you need is the correct plug it’s the same for all modern consoles apart from the OG Xbox one, been had enough Japanese consoles shipped to me to the UK to know this aha

@@CD-Gaming all modern consoles are also region free, even the PS3 is region free so you can play Japanese, PAL and any other region on one PS3, even the PS3 is multi voltage so all you need is the correct plug and with the North American plug being the same as the Japanese one it’s no problem, only console that’s region locked from the PS3 era is the Wii and Xbox 360, but they come with external power supplies, so again all you need is your countries power supply for that console as the power supplies that came with the Wii and Xbox 360 aren’t multi voltage I import loads from Japan monthly and as I’m an achievement hunter I buy the Japanese exclusive visual novels, I’ve already got a Japanese slim that I use with a UK 360 power supply, it’s difficult to understand at times but as you said it opens up a whole new world in terms of games and consoles 👍

There was a Retro Video Games Fair where I live a few weeks back, I could have got some foreign games, in fact I could have got the Japanese Dynasty Warriors Gundam: Reborn, which was only on PS3, but then the problem would have been in-game language...

@@CD-Gaming it was also released on PS2 and Xbox 360 in Japan, I’ve had a few copies over the years that I’ve sold on eBay between £8 and £15, importing directly from Japanese via a proxy service is far cheaper than eBay, the one I use is called sendico, very popular company among big KZreadrs like Austin evens and the retro future, I’ve had over 225 parcels delivered from them in the past 2 years and never had any issues aha

The hard drives probably empty because they upgraded to a newer Xbox360 and wanted to keep all of their installs and saves. I remember doing the samething when i got a newer one. Also 360s wont let you have backwards compatability with a 3rd party drive. It is cheapest to just buy a $5 case on ebay and shift it over yourself instead of buying new.

I started collecting PS2 games at the exact right time in about 2016, 5$ everywhere, consoles were pretty cheap. Games were just everywhere and cheap! I got all of the nostalgia games plus a bunch I never played for dirt cheap. Right after I started collecting they all started disappearing from the stores I visited. The only ones left would be sports games, except for the absolute classic NBA street. I could never find NBA street. That was the best basketball game ever for the PS2. I finally found a very good condition copy tucked between DVDs at goodwill. It's hard to find any of that stuff just laying around anymore it seems like.

Beware of the slim PS2! They're notorious for destroying discs by leaving ring scratches. The ribbon cable on the laser is known to stick up and scratch the everliving crap out of the disc.

That Dragon Quest PS4 is pretty side note the reason why the analog sticks felt sticky is just because the material degrading naturally over time

I still play on my 360 quite a lot, I game mostly on PC and don't like the newer 9th gen consoles so being an older gamer I mostly play old JRPG's and on PC I play MX Bikes and sim racers. But right now, I find myself playing Breath of Fire 3 and man what a great game and that I am playing on PSP emulator. But that PS4 is peak I have never seen that version console before.
