The audio quality at 1:50 isn't great because I don't have a way to record directly from the sound module. It sounds great when wearing headphones or with a good quality speaker!

That kit leveled up with the modern and clean sounds from the computer. Granted, the audio wasn't t recorded the same was as it was when you played live in the room on a speaker, but hey. Good stuff.

Amazing how you get a drum throne, headphones and pedals for a bit more than 200 along with the rest of the kit and how you are not getting that with a kit of more than 4000 (but then again you do need an actual hi-Hat stand and bassdrum pedal with a kit that expensive)

Always practice with a met. Always play with good technique. No exceptions to those 2. Then, practice your rudiments, as they build the foundation for most of what you'll be playing; many exercises for this. Finally, you could try resistance drumming, like playing 8s repeatedly on a soft pillow with solid technquie and stick control, making sure to "play through the head". However, this is more useful for getting more volume of the drum versus playing faster. But it is deliberate, which could make your playing more confident and therefore better. If all that fails, just play lower. Lower is faster. If your line is stringent about matching stick heights, perhaps everyone could benefit from playing fast/tricky sections lower.

Up until he hooked it up into GarageBand to play some halfway decent samples, this thing was unquestionably garbage. But if someone is just looking for a cost-effective set of triggers to use with a DAW and real samples (and they don't have any need to convey nuance or dynamics because you don't play with nuance or dynamics), then it might not be half bad. I just wish it was anything close to an honest review though.

To be honest, this would kill a beginners enthusiasm. It's a kit for a very good player who is fully confident of his skills. A person starting on this will lose confidence immediately and either quit for good or spend serious money on something impressive, not a clack-rattling hello kitty kit. A crap drummer will say its garbage... a bad worker blames his tools.

I believe that tempo accuracy is something one is born with. Those that don’t have it do not understand why those that do you have it feels so restricted and even insulted by having to play with a metronome. It’s just my opinion. I don’t use Music or charts either… I memorize every measure of every song and retain it for years, even decades, moreover it is absolutely effortless for me to do this… It happens whether I mean for it to or not. This also bugs the hell out of people who can’t play a note without sheet music. At stage band contests way back in high school, (class of 77) it even showed up on adjudication sheets where some judges noticed that I was playing without any music stand at all, and wondering how in the world I did that. No professional drummer I ever saw used sheet music or charts, so it never occurred to me that I was supposed to … I thought everybody had an eidetic memory when it came to music, plus, what they handed out as sheet music for the drum set was a joke. Fortunately, my band Director just didn’t care… In fact he was kind of proud of it. I literally stored complete recordings of songs in my head that I could play back at will so my ‘tempo memory’ was better - more accurate and reliable, than his was, and so he started just having me count the songs off myself.
