Each region is like a country. So it would be 8 gyms spread across different states, and elite 4 in the Washington DC. That way people can either pick just the gym closest or the full traveling challenge.

That's why you always teacher your pokemon one move that is good against, their counter. I always teach my dragon types one element move, one poison move. One dragon move, and a buff move.

Alternating between tough back and forths and the leader getting swept entirely by a particularly good anti-type strategy feels very authentic to an actual in-game Gym battle! This is such a cool concept, great job

You know, this makes me realize the gym leaders in big cities in-game must be exhausted with having to deal with tons of challengers, which probably justified the amount of gym trainers some of them might have. Also, I absolutely would love to spend my free time in a real life Pokémon gym and just be a groupie basically, sorta like how the anime portrays some gym leaders as local leaders and celebs.

The double discharge team was actually quite creative, Wolfey knows what to do against more conventional team, but didn't expect someone to just power through as hard as possible, making it surprisingly effective and creative.

It's interesting that Wolfe chose the 4 pokemon on his team that had no way of dealing with that team. His Palafin and Baraskewda had priority moves he could have used to take down at least one of their pokemon. Though admittedly he'd have a hard time winning either way.

I ran an Aggron that ran Thunder because "well, he's weak to water, and water is weak to electric". Ended up destroying Wallace with a lvl 80 Aggron lmao

Bro no lie. This is one of the absolute coolest things I've ever seen. Creative, fun, and bringing some of that magic we all grew up on to life. Thank you for bringing this to life. If you ever do something like this near chicago I'm going.

This isn't the collective work of the fandom, it's Wolfey and his friends in the VGC that made this possible the fandom is mostly arguing on twitter and reddit

this honestly had me smiling almost the entire time, such a cool idea!!! having the screen outside, having the badges, the guy in the front handing out waters and giving tips... just all around super wholesome along with having all the things youd want for a real life gym battle hahaha AWESOME job

This is an event I always wish to happen in my town. I hope that Gamefreak will take this as an example to do events like this around the world. They could do a lot of great events like this.

This is legitimately the coolest thing I've ever seen pokemon-related. I'm so jealous of everyone who got to experience that in-person. Please keep doing things like this Wolfey, you are just fundamentally changing the landscape of pokemon content!

Nintendo's marketing team should be taking notes. This is both a great thing for fans, and an amazing advertisement for Pokemon. They should be setting these up in every city like Apple does with its Apple Stores. Make it a place where you can go to watch, buy merch, challenge the gym, buy games, buy merch, get exclusive mystery gifts downloaded to your game, and buy merch.

Not the same thing but when i was a teen every summer there were pokemon theme events in a lot of the beaches of my country, you could go there play and do some gymkhanas , get oficial merch, and get event pokemon. Sadly this disapeared

Watching this video sent goosebumps all over my body multiple times. Holyyyy it must have been so cool to be able to participate in a real life pokemon gym event! Wolfey, you are the real goat!

I always wondered why there were people hanging around a gym in the games, and after watching this, I realized that I would be one of the groupies checking out the challengers and seeing what else gym has to offer. LOL Such a cool event!!

Wolfe’so new type of content is infinitely better. He interacts better with viewers and comes across as a very good content creator. Don’t get me wrong, I liked his old type of content but this just fits Wolfe more

tbh, part of me was missing the old content style, but then I found BonusWolfe and was ecstatic to learn we now have the best of both worlds!

Absolutely fantastic! Always wanted this to be a real thing. I think every country should have nation wide gyms and leagues with all pkm game gym leaders. Would be amazing to travel and meet communities all around the world collecting badges and sharing the love of pokemon.

Respect.... This was a creative way to bring so many Pokémon fans together, as well as giving them experience battling top tier players. Good stuff.

this event looked amazing! the woman that said she fell out of pokemon for awhile but got back to it with this gen hit me hard because wolfey is the reason why i stuck to this generation after having fallen out for abit as well. and here we all are united in our love for the hobby and of the world champion. thanks for everything Wolfey!

The entire video I just had this massive smile on my face, just amazed about everything from the concept of an irl Pokémon Gym, to *a real, actual water bottle guy,* to getting swept by a team someone would actually use _in-game_ to beat a Water-type Gym, to the *_ANIME AS ALL HELL FINAL CHALLENGER REVEAL._* You're pushing the envelope of competitive pokémon content, and we're all so excited to see what you're cooking up next.

That double discharge strat put the biggest smile on my face. Discharge-Volt Absorb-Lightening Rod was the first ever team I tried in Doubles, and seeing someone succeed with it makes me super happy

I watched this when it came out and since then ive had my mind burning with ideas to implement gyms in real life, i want this to be a thing so bad!

Why is this so wholesome? I was smiling the whole time. It's like my dream of living in Pokémon world is coming true

I love how the last battle was like something out of a legit Pokémon game with the former Champion going through his brother and then the Gym leader to regain his title.

It's almost unbeliveable that Wolfey went from uploading his commentary over DS gameplay from his dorm room to these heights. That's the "World Champ Difference".

We need to see more stuff like this. I feel like this would actually be a great place to visit. Open one pokemon gym in every major city in America and assign gym leaders based on their skillset.

it's genuinely surprising that TPC itself hasn't done something like this. i saw this unfold on Twitter, i thought it was the coolest thing ever, and it's even cooler watching it on KZread. keep up the good work!

It's easy to understand why it's such a fun concept. You're basically living out your dreams. You're getting the BEST Immersion. You're getting a REAL taste of what it's like to be in one of THE most Nostalgia fueled games!

It's such a familiar concept to the people who did play these games as kids/young adults. I just dont know why there arent more events like this.

This got me a bit teary, seeing loads of people having fun together with Pokémon, and seeing Wolfe pouring so much time and energy into it, with the event being a big success, it's such a sweet sight :D

This makes me miss when I used to be obsessed with Pokémon and knew everything about every move, item, and stat and would constantly come up with different strategies. That was about 10 years ago, I simply don’t have the time anymore to get that deep but maybe I’ll get one of the new games and play casual again, especially if I can transfer some of my old team over and “get the band back together”

This is the single most wholesome thing I have ever seen. Huge props to Wolfey for bringing so many people together for a really fun and creative event!

This concept is insane and the execution was beautiful

All it needs is random trainers standing at the wall who approaches you when you walk into their sight

Wow this is the most amazing Pokémon themed event since Pokémon Go I’ve ever seen. Has to take the cake as the best PokeTuber I’ve ever seen. Thank you for bringing everybody’s childhood into reality Wolfe!

Wolfe has proven time and again that he is undoubtedly my favorite Pokémon KZreadr! It’s an absolutely wonderful thing for you to host an event like this and all of your fans will thank you for it.

Crazy that I saw him first with Shady before he decided to make a KZread channel. Glad he's had so much success after keeping at it 7 years or so later. Persistence pays off.

I’m just learning of this and it makes me sad! I remember being excited when gyms were a part of Pokémon go, feeling like I might finally have an authentic Pokémon gym experience in the real world but ended up being disappointed at the implementation. I wanted it to have the feeling of walking into a gym and challenging it. That excitement of walking through the doors staring down all the gym trainers I planned to challenge. The anticipation of watching others challenge the gym and rooting for them to get their badges. People excitedly finding others to battle, trade, and talk Pokémon with as they waited their turn or as they spectated. Friendly rivalries built and tested. But that really wasn’t what happened with go. I hope you do this again because watching this video I had the thought “omg that’s exactly the type of real world Pokémon experience I’ve been craving.”

When I saw the title of the video I didn't knew what to expect to be completely honest, but I'm flabbergasted by how amazing this event seems: I can't even begin to image the hustle to put it all together. I hope Pokemon company will sponsor things like this in future, you would totally deserve it

Fun fact: I was like 10 feet to the left of the intro being filmed. This event was incredible, the BC staff were all the best! Get idea Wolfe!

Pokemon has touched so many children's hearts! Glad to see this joy didn't die in adulthood. This looks so cool.

This got to be one of the COOLEST things I've ever seen in my life. I was smiling like an idiot the whole video wishing I had attended. For real, this IS the definition of awesome. Wolfe, you are killing it man.

It's a shame really fun looking events like these only ever seem to happen in massive cities like new york, california area, houston, dallas or nashville. Kind've hard not to feel left out, ya know? Also I'm shocked that Nintendo didn't bring the hammer down on you for this.

As someone who grew up in a very small town, I 100% felt this sentiment and understand. However, you do have to think about it from the logistics perspective of the people planning these events. Their event will cost a huge amount regardless of where they host it, and if they put it in a really niche location that is difficult for the majority of people to make it to (though convenient for a small minority).... it just doesn't make much sense on their end. It is definitely the suckiest part of living in a smaller town or in a state that is not near any huge metropolitan cities. However, I will say it does get a **lot** better when you're older, because if going to events like this are a priority to you, you can spend the money to actually travel out to them and it is a lot of fun.

Outside of what the other commenter mentioned.. many rural towns literally can't handle the influx of people this would bring. Streets would be jammed. Requirements would have massive wires and likely even start running out of food.. bathroom facilities would be brutal.

Because small towns or places wouldn't get a lot of attention much less people. It will depend mostly on locals more than people traveling a long distance to it. That's why major events only happen in big cities. And of course, big cities can accommodate huge amounts of crowds with Airbnb, hotels, and motels.

This is probably the coolest Pokémon video I've seen, awesome stuff Wolfey!

Could you imagine if someone some how did this but made 8 gyms as well and an elite 4, that would be wild! It awesome you managed to make a gym IRL!

Love the idea but the main issue I see with that is just travel money. Pretty much only those able to afford the expense could ever become the Champion.

Dang. Even as someone just watching this from KZread thousands of miles away from New York, this has got to be one of the most passionate Pokemon events I've witnessed for a long time. Hope that the Elite 4 gets to be EVEN GRANDER (heh, gen3 pun)! Thanks for the content, Wolfe, Aarons 1 & 2, and James! :D

Really loved watching this. This could be a fun thing to try in my hometown. Really wish the pokemon co would actually sanction events like this in major cities.

Okay but how is this idea not an official thing Organise by Pokémon company all around the world ? This is the freaking coolest idea I’ve ever seen but sadly I live in Germany and can only dream to be at such an event one day. Amazing job Wolfe you’re a genius

Well, there are quite a few problems with that. Beginning with people in germany probably would have the least chances of having events in the country. Also, nothing is for free. Not only such an event itself will cost easily 10k€ (unlike community-events, people won't work for free), badges and rewards also cost money. The problem with that is, that people participating in such events are mostly people living nearby, so the amount of participants is heavily limited. Enough people complain about the prices of the game itself, but most likely that would already be what people had to pay to participate.

The whole event looks to have been so well done and like everyone had a blast; a show of what Pokémon can be. Congratulations man, this is amazing!
