I loved to search the rack packs(3 packs in 1 package), especially the 1985-87 baseball. You could see 3 cards on the top stacks and see the back cards too. it was fun to find a RC showing on either side!

I was a 90s kid so I have a lot of Stockton, Malone, and Jordans "Junk Wax" as you call it. It was so much fun grabbing a pack of cards as a kid and pulling your favorite NBA players. Then sticking in your binder to show it off to your friends at school and day care. The trading started at a young age and it was a blast!

Alvin Robertson was fun to look was really great

I've heard this term junk wax so much as a new collector and never truly knew what it was 'til now. Very interesting.

Upper deck started in 1990 amd changed the game. I was from a small city in Virginia with no internet so got a sub to Beckett and that was a huge part of my free time as a 13 year old. I still have all my old junk wax from. The hobby peak even though it's not worth much. 1990 score baseball was my first set

1986 Topps. I remember being on the playground when I was 9 looking at them. 1988 topps is when I seriously got into collecting. By the time I was 16 I was out of the hobby

I would say my favorite and only pack I opened 3 weeks ago from junk wax era was the 1989 nba hoops I pulled a Jordan and a Bird 🙂

I have a bunch of unopened junk wax that I can't bring myself to open. Wax packs of 1987 topps that came with the inserts (series of 16) I still chase Mantle from time to time grab score series 2 off ebay for a fun rip.

93-92 NBA Topps Stadium Club. I loved the Rim Rockers inserts! I remember pulling Shaq as a kid and losing my mind.

This is when the hobby was huge. I would go to the coin exchange every other week to get packs in Roanoke Virginia. The owner was a scum bag. Bought a 1990 frank thomas in. Screw down that I finally sold last year for same price as I paid for it😊😅

Some of the junk wax stuff is pretty cool to rip,I spent $100 on the Donruss baseball boxes trying to pull an Elite card, I ripped 6 boxes and didn't pull an Elite card!

Maybe for the guys today they call it junk but in the mid 70s to the 80s wax packs were the way we put our sets together. Plus packs were cheap for the most part. I wasn't looking just for the star cards in a pack.I have hand put together sets from 1979 to the late 80s.

Bro great idea he had on the background cards. Would be cool to collect short prints that bave famous athletes and stuff chilling in the pictures.

Ripped a box of 1988 topps football over the summer (video on my channel). I was looking for a rookie Bo Jackson. Over 30 packs and only pulled 1! Lol sent it off to PSA and came back an 8. Very hard for junk wax to be a 10.

Loved ripping 1990 hockey when I was a kid in 1999. They had them at the dollar store and the thrill of opening packs was amazing. Really got me into cards when I was a kid. All the stars and they were really cheap!

1985-1992 various cards from all sports... biggest pull, 1986 Topps Steve Young... biggest garbage 1987-1992 everything, have lots.

Thanks for the junk wax video Mojo. I would love going back opening some packs for the nostalgia alone of the 90s seeing some of my favorite past players who I watched as a kid and made me fall in love with sports. I also liked the idea of seeing spike Lee or others celebrities being in the pictures of player cards to add an greater experience to collecting

Love the mark Jackson Mendez Bros card I find odd cards like that and the jamorant young Dolph cards so iconic the ja Morant young Dolph card was one of my very first cards I bought that was over a 20$ value

I collected from 88 till 2008 and got out of it. Back then we were young dumb and full of -- we collected to have fun. It was never about money.

Man i have a ton of junk wax baseball. I was born in 1982 so thats all they had was junk wax. Cal ripken jr was my guy also jose canseco and mark maguire.

I’ve been ripping 1989 Topps searching for a Joe Sakic rookie card, I haven’t hit it yet but hopefully I will!

Fav junk wax is 1984 Topps. I love the look of the card and there are great players in there. Donny Baseball rookie card is from 84. I bet that little kid makes more money than I do lol That chicken parm looks to die for !! My last name is Russian/Polish but my mama's madien name was Cecchini. So half of each. I went to NY for couple days last December and went to card shop called cards and coffee! Great little shop! Hoping to go to NY this December and hit up more card shops!

i still have some junk wax saved....i saved a box of pacific football and the pacific nolan ryan express series stuff....it was cool to me cause as a kid that was the 1st whole box i could actually afford lol, i thought i was hot stuff my 1st ever whole wax box lol....the good ole days lol

I think it is funny that people call it junk wax because during that time period that's all we had to choose from. It wasn't like we were choosing to buy the over produced cards instead of better produced or limited cards like chrome, numbered, or inserts. Those products didn't exist.

When I was a kid in the 90s I would build the NFL pro set pack by pack and 92-93 nba set can't remember the brand but had it up until 3 weeks ago and sold it off to a guy who collects full sets I couldn't imagine building sets these days way cheap to just to buy it

To me isn't junk wax packs and some card brands and sub brands were crummy.

It may be junk to some but it awesome to me! What a fun rip with these old wax packs. Love it!
