The first time I saw that truck was out near Utah. I actually thought it was some kind of custom b model Mack. I saw the fella driving it and he made me think of a Santa Claus who was able to still kick my butt! I believe he said it is a 55 but for sure an international. He also told me he built that truck from a junk yard and he did every bit of the work himself! Pretty amazing piece of work. Wasn’t to long later I saw him out around Tennessee. Keep a look out because that fella don’t mind working!

Opie is showing signs of dysplasia in his right front leg. My GSD had signs in her hind legs. I've been giving her NOOTIE brand ADVANCED HIP & JOINT SOFT CHEWS from Amazon. I doubled the recommended amount and it was like magic how she responded. She plays with my younger GSD now, climbs the stairs to the deck and jumps into and out of the car. Losing some weight would help him to. My Vet says its best to show some waistline behind their rib cage. He's your buddy. Keep him healthy as he ages.

Kurt thanks you for showing us the old International, what a cool old truck. The first truck I drove in 1980 when I was just learning was a 1959 International, it had a 220 Cummins with a 5 speed main and a 3 speed browny. The seat was spring ride, when you hit a bump the springs would compress then try to eject you out through the cab. I will never forget that old truck, and the hood on it seemed like it was 50 feet long.

+ Just had a genius idea 💡 for Opie's up and down the truck ; instead of stairs; a ramp ; four 2' X 3' sliding panels: when closed you carry them like a bag when in use you open them to form a ramp that the dog would just walk it up or down, no more jumping. Glued on fabric for traction. 😊

Kurt, in relation to Opies limp which maybe caused by arthritis, my vet. gave me some medicine for out 10 yr. old GSD and it was called Roomadoll. I believe that is the correct spelling. Lady took it for about 5yrs. and acted like a 5 yr. old, I could not keep up with her. Next time at the vet ask him about that medicine.

The reason the morning commute is crazier then evening because American people are always running late for work. A Japanese fellow told me that long ago. I tend to believe that as well. Enjoy your videos and the company you get from the dog. Im long retired from the road, 1993 and had a small dog with me a couple times. The company of a dog is the best therapy. Mans best friend. That international that you seen was nice but not quite as old as you speculated. I have some black and white photos of a couple dad drove right after WWII. Be safe out there and hope your dog treats you well.

You may have seen this truck on the road. I was in El Paso in the back row, Pete's and KW's. There was a 50's KW needle nose with 160" sleeper. Color, all white. He had a blue tarp under the front of the truck and a wheelbarrow beside it. Went down to see what's up and could I lend a hand. He was doing a bottom end rebuild in the parking lot, a 400 Cummins. Moved the parts in the wheelbarrow and the tarp for excess oil dripping catcher. Times have changed, there are very few left. I had a 98 W900 72" sleeper,500hp Detroit and 18 spd. pulled lowbed. Best truck I ever owned, and yes I had a 379 6nz.

What you do is one of my biggest dreams, nothing but me, a big rig, and the open road. I'd love to start my journey in trucking one day. I find the idea of long hours behind the wheel of a 18-wheeler very nice. I'd want to take someone, and possibly find me a doggie companion to keep me company around there so I don't truly get lonely. However I simply like the idea of driving trucks all day and night.

I enjoy seeing that old metal on the highways and byways. Didn't happen often enough in years past, certainly not at all nowadays, retirement does that to me. For a while I drove an International 4300, might have been 1972 model, don't recall but it pulled pretty good with a 350 Cummins and a ten speed. Your W900 is a really decent semi, I do admire it and the way it's driven. Thanks for the really swell drive through mostly rural Kansas. Liked that a lot. Be well.
