I’m so sorry that people rag on you for being real. I became a mother this year and yes I love my daughter more than anything but this is very challenging! I get a lot of relief from watching your videos with Sage because you share what it’s really like to be a new mother. Thank you for being honest! 💜

I really like your videos. My son is one and I’ve accepted I can’t be perfect and do it all. I can’t work full time + have a spotless house + cook lavish meals AND take care of myself AT THE SAME TIME lol. It’s too much. I’ve embraced screen time so I can cook without my son screaming. I’ve embraced simple meals that have atleast some veggies in it because my son is a picky eater. I’m taking the route where I DONT go insane and have a breakdown so it is what it is. I tell myself that the most important thing my son cares about is that he sees a happy mother. You’re doing your best and those who criticize are jealous. Because I can’t imagine another mother criticizing another mother unless she’s deeply unhappy with her situation. Peace and love to you😊

This video made me feel like I wasn't alone as a mom. My son is going through a phase right now and I finally had a good cry the other night lol. Being a parent is one of the most difficult, selfless, and scrutinized jobs ever. You are doing an incredible job mama, thank you for being raw and real!
Girl, this video SPEAKS. I'm a Momma of a 16 month old & it is all so familiar. Sending love and appreciation for you being real and also sending solidarity to Mommies of toddlers

💯 mama, we need MORE mothers sharing what it’s really like. I don’t cherish every moment, because there are some incredibly HARD moments. You talking about the reality of being a parent is helping other moms know they aren’t alone and I really appreciate that you do. I have a 3.5 year old and a 20 month old so I’m in the trenches with you. There are days when the overwhelm is extreme and there are days that are pure joy, and that’s normal. There are zero days that I’m ungrateful and also zero days I don’t long for more alone time and space and more moments to feel like a woman and not just a mom. It’s both, I’m both grateful and overwhelmed sometimes and that’s ok. Anyways keep it up!

Hi hope you are fine
As a child development major all i can say is You’re doing a great job mama. When people feel the need to give their advice always remember. What works for them will not work for every kid. Sage is so lucky to have you. With Sage being sick and now getting over it, I’m sure she has been through a lot. Both emotionally and physically. She is probably asking for milk because that is her soothing mechanism. She gets love, such a as hugs and cuddles and also feels a bond with mom. You are doing great Mama. Toddler phase is tough but you are handling it like a pro!!! Hang in there on those rough days. And never be afraid to voice your frustrations because its 100% normal and ok to do. We need more influencers like you who show the good and the bad days.
Nikole, it must be mentally exhausting to have every aspect of your life scrutinized on social media 😥. Sage has the most incredible Mom!!

It's so frustrating that people only share the good exciting fun times, but never share the negatives real life. Then we complain how we are so depressed because we're comparing our lives to others on social media. .. ugh Stay real girl. I love your content because of it.

So glad you’re sharing this. My anxiety has been so bad lately, I have a 6 month old and it’s really hard for me to mentally keep it together for my family. Thanks for being relatable. ❤
I saw that clip. You modeled a perfect example of taking a break to regulate your own emotions, in order to better help Sage learn to regulate her emotions. You were literally showing an example of good parenting. Also, loved the real look at grocery shopping with a toddler, and ending up at checkout with a bunch of opened packages. 😆

It’s so refreshing to see someone on KZread be honest about what parenting can actually be like. It’s definitely been really helpful for someone like me as a first time mom. Thank you for doing what you do ❤️
I'm not a mom. But I'm not blind. People are so judgemental! If you're a mom and complain about any single part of parenting it's like people think this means you're ungrateful or not a good mom. It's crap. We are all human, all have VALID feelings and mom's are not exempt from this. I see you moms. Keep doing what you do. ❤️

GIRL! Can I first say, THANK YOU! Thank you for posting this reality. We have been watching your channel before Sage was born. When I found out you were pregnant I was filled with joy as I was myself! Our kiddos are close in age, my son will be turning 2 Oct 30. Currently my husband is away until March 2023 due to airforce reason. LET ME TELL YOU! I felt so alone in this. My son is acting similar to Sage, the clingy, the crying, the whining, all of it. However its such a fun stage because its also filled with lots of new skills, love and fun. They are learning how to communicate even more and its a wild ride. I do not feel so alone after watching this. So thank you girl.
Thank you for sharing this. I think every mother goes through that kind of rudeness and lack of understanding… in many different ways. My son is only 5 months and also teething , being very cranky, so I relate to this so much 🙏🏻 It’s nice to know you’re not the worst mum in the world for having different feelings , I wish you and your family all the happiness and patience
Thank you so much for sharing. It is so HARD! I appreciate the honesty of the struggles. I can't comprehend people taking the opportunity to negatively judge someone (and leave those negative comments) who is sharing their life with the world. Just, thank you. 🧡

I appreciate you keeping it real. I have a 14 months old that was literally up every hour all night and is in rough shape today. It makes me feel good to know I'm not alone in the struggles. Thank you!

I so appreciate you showing the not so perfect moments and it makes me feel like I’m not alone. My daughter is 20 months and has been having so many big feelings lately. I hate when it happens in public/in front of my husband’s family because I feel like people just don’t understand if they haven’t had a toddler and can be so judgmental about it. Parenting is hard. I appreciate you sharing not only the highlights but the real life struggles of parenting a toddler with those "big" feelings. My son is 16 months and sometimes I feel like my days are so exhausting... but your channel makes me feel noticed and not alone. I wished more moms would be as transparent to some of the struggles of motherhood. I walked into being a mom thinking something was wrong with me for feeling stressed or worn out some days. More women need to talk about the challenges instead of glamorizing every single moment of motherhood. Yes, it's a blessing and we are beyond grateful for our children but it's ok not to have it "together" every moment.

I agree that instagram has become a place where if you are not following the latest parenting trends, you are wrong. If you are not a bundle of happiness and joy, you are ungrateful. Honestly, for me your videos are a blessing, cause it helps me much more to know that I'm not alone when I encounter hard times with my daughter, than to think everyone elses life is constant sunshine and I'm the one failing. Being a good mother is the hardest job! You are doing great ❤
I've been working with babies and kiddos for almost 8 years now, and the toddler stage is SO ROUGH. So much that I don't work with toddlers anymore for my own sanity. You're doing amazing, and the best mom Sage has is you. Continue to be gentle with yourself, even if the world isn't gentle with you.
Thank you for sharing the hard moments!! So appreciated. Seems all we see on the internet is the fake perfect moments of motherhood. As mothers we want to see the hard moments too so that we know we aren’t alone. My 15 month old is teething and has 8 teeth coming in at the same time 🙈 been a rough couple of months for her and us. So thanks for sharing ❤
Please continue to show the real parenting. It's got its heights and lows, hard work for all parents. Good to see that I'm not alone and other parents are going through the same things. Thanks Nicole for being real and transparent! ❤️🙏🏻
Love this❤. Sorry people are being mean. I can relate to everything you’re saying with an almost 2 year old also. Being a mama is such hard work, thank you for sharing all sides of if since it helps other mamas feel like they’re not alone 😊

My son was born May 2021 so he is just a little younger than Sage.. I know capturing these bad moments are rough but that you because we need to see that we are not alone. I have had to stop watching other KZreadr because while I don’t necessarily want to always see bad moments, if one doesnt talk about them at all… it then becomes totally fake. My son is going through the same thing Sage is going through and I agree about having them being with other kids has been great. Navigating these big feelings is rough because there is no rhyme or reason but you see them so upset that it breaks your heart. I am almost positive teething is involved!

Hi how are you?
Thank you so much for being so raw and real when it comes to parenting! I have a 15month old and she's at a stage where she says no to EVERYTHING. I do want to share a book I'm currently LOVING and am sure gonna read and re-read for when she turns 2 and beyond. It's called: How to talk so little kids will listen by Joanna Faber. It shares a LOT of tips and strategies to navigate toddler tantrums and melt downs. And that waffle preference thing sounds a lot like she's trying to assert her autonomy rather than an actual preference.. won't be surprised if she says she prefer another way nx day...lol! That book I recommended has an example on how to manage that exact scenario too. Sending you all the love and strength for tough moments like these.. you're doing amazing!
Sometimes, you just have to lean into the hard moments to soften the blow ☺️ It’s definitely not easy putting yourself out onto the internet, but you model the real raw version of your life so beautifully. ❤ Keep doing you, boo 😘

Hi Michelle how are you?
Sage is the cutest! She has so many similarities to my 2 year old daughter. Just wanted to let you know that whether you do a great job or make some mistakes which are completely normal because we are humans, people will ALWAYS judge. You know you’re a great mom and sage is growing up healthy and happy and that’s all that matters. The opinion of others is irrelevant. Always looking forward to new videos.
We need more people to be real. I both absolutely LOVE being a mom to my son and I simultaneously struggle with aspects of it. The highs are pretty high, and the lows can be pretty low. He was planned and he's the best, but we need to normalize this discussion. I'd be lying if I said that social media didn't give me a somewhat unrealistic expectation of what parenting would look like. I knew it would be the biggest challenge that I've ever faced, but I suppose I didn't know exactly how it would be in a way. Thanks for being real Nikole. Sorry that some people are rude.
You are an incredible and loving mom! Hugs mama ❤️🌻

Hi Joanna how are you?
I have a 15 month old, and we are at the stage where he doesn’t know what he wants. Lol Sometimes he wants to be held. Two seconds later he wants down. Then he wants a toy, I give it to him, and he throws it. Toddlers are hard!! I have an almost three year old as well, and I can confidently say that it gets easier when they can communicate more. So hang in there! Being a mama is HARD! We are in charge or shaping our kids to be decent people in every aspect. It’s a lot of pressure, but also such a great privilege. Thank you for sharing hard times. 💕 it’s encouraging to know I’m not alone!!

How are you?
I appreciate your honesty and I hate hearing that people are dragging you down for being honest. Parenthood is hard and its nice to see I am not the only one struggling! Also my 20 month old daughter loves Encanto but now only certain songs on the soundtrack does she want to listen too, haha its never ending with toddlers!

Hi Lauren how are you?
I keep making your kale salad and I’m OBSESSED!
It must be so hard to have random strangers have an opinion on your parenting, but you're doing great. You've been inspiring and reassuring when I needed it the most as a first time mom, so thank you. It makes me mad that people on the internet can feel so free to say stuff they would never dare say in person, forgetting you are a very real mom and person behind the screen. Sage is happy and you and Matt are doing the best ❤️❤️ Sending love to your family, internet is not all savage 😉😅

Hi Jessica how are you??
I accidentally sent that before I was finished haha but anyway I know my daughter has those moments in wonders if she's a good mother and sometimes we wonder why she won't eat some days and will other days so it's nice to know that toddlers sometimes just don't care for breakfast or as used to love eggs and pancakes just like sage now we just don't know what to feed her so that's what brought me back to you . Stay strong you have so many that appreciate what you do especially the low moments .
Continue to show real mum life, this is what other mums need to see. Just showing the good times just makes other mums feel inferior and isn’t helpful for self esteem. You are doing an amazing job with Sage 😊 she looks happy, healthy and loved.
Nikole I’m so sorry you have to deal with the constant negativity on the internet. Thank you for always keeping it real. You can absolutely have challenging moments while still being grateful for your child! Any parent who cannot relate to having tough times is kidding themselves. 😅

Hi Mariel how are you?
I feel you mama! 😪 you cannot do anything now a days without someone coming at you for being a parent. Like I'm sure they do the damn same thing and don't even realize it. 🙄 don't stress yourself out, your doing a great job. Love you sharing those feelings that sage has with us. It's a hard life parenting a toddler when they cannot show their true emotions! We all need to come together and help each other out not look down on one another. It's shameful and needs to stop! This is why I stopped showing my son on social media due to this reason! My mother in law is the worst for it and it drives me nuts. Like mind your own motherhood 🥰
Yesssss. Thank you! I was an overwhelmed first time mama of twins with a always working hubby. I didn’t know about Montessori until much later. There’s so much pressure (I learned) to montessorify everything (kind of like the pressure / trend of BLW) and child rearing is so much more than Montessori. There’s so many ways to grow and develop. There’s no wrong or right as long as you’re giving love and doing your best
Are people blind? You’re the best mother! I have learned so much from you within the last year of raising my first baby. I’ve bought your baby book and referred to your content countless times. You said it well, toddlerhood is so fun but also very challenging.. and guess what, that’s okay to say! I appreciate your genuine heart and helpful content. We mommas (and daddy’s) are all in this together 🤍

Hi Leah how are you??
You are a perfect mom! Don't listen to anyone who says the opposite. I don't have kids but I adore your videos and kinda learn from you and when I have kids in future I'll be ready and prepared thanks to you! Hugs from Russia
