The musical philosophy of this band is simple, only do what the song, the music is calling for, no ego, no virtuosic display for self-gratification, just the music. Also they have released a few live performances of new songs from their upcoming album. Hell You Call A Dream from Pepsi Centre and Automatic Sun from Tecate Pa'l Norte Festival are fantastic.

when DPA/TW play *MORE* live, it hits harder and has a rougher, grungier sound than the studio version in the OMV... the OMV is a fun video with DPA/TW playing and dancing around on a set that has a huge number of hidden Easter Eggs that long time followers will spot easily... for me, that brings back some memories of the fun videos we used to see on MTV back when it actually was "music videos all the time"... yes, i saw MTV's first broadcast when they officially came on the air 😹 i'm quite proud and happy for DPA/TW for making these milestone appearances at two MTV functions, the MIAW in CDMX (back in Aug 2023) and the VMAs in NY&NJ (Extended Stage) (in Sep 2023)... three additional milestones are 1) they are the first Mexican band to perform at the VMAs, 2) they were invited to perform, 3) they were not nominated for anything... those speak volumes in a great and huge way! now add to that they have been doing this for 10 years... most of that was while independent... i would also be remiss if i didn't mention that this performance was real unlike the other groups that also performed here... DPA/TW did both of their songs fully live and in one take each while the other performers lip synced and took all three allowed takes... the ""best"" of those takes was selected for airplay... DPA/TW were also the only ones to be announced on the main stage when it was time to present their performances... they have been playing for about 16 years which includes while they were learning and starting to become proficient at their art and individual instruments... they celebrated their 10th Anniversary as a band in Aug 2023... they have certainly worked long and hard on their art... to think that this all started because of the game Rock Band 🤯😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

If you've not seen them live yet, you gotta do it! I'm heading home to California after seeing them with Band Maid in Tokyo! What a show! They closed the show with both bands on stage playing a new song they worked out over the two weeks before the event! Seeing Pau and Akane scorching their drum kits side by side, staring into each other's eyes while Ale and Misa stood side by side hammering the bass, and Dany/Saike belting out the lyrics was an emotional/spiritual experience. I'm new to your channel, so I don't know if you're familiar with Band Maid. If not, check them out please. And, as Gladis said below, the next song you should react to is "Evolve" from the same VMA show! It'll knock your socks off!

They have historically written all of their own music but for the first time they have started having others come in and write with them for this song and other songs off of their upcoming album, Keep Me Fed. I think they said they wanted to expand their horizons a bit and they have also been very busy touring while writing for this album. This particular song's writing credits include Dany, Pau, and Ale along with Danielle NIcole Rubio and Anton Curtis DeLost (who is also the producer on this album.)

They have 3 studio albums and 1 EP, 40+ original songs and they write everything themselves: melody, instruments, lyrics. Their upcoming album "Keep me fed", which this song is part of, is the first time they worked with co-writers. Now, this is pure speculation on my part based on interviews and random tidbits here and there, but I think that even though they worked with other people, the girls still did most of the heavy lifting in the writing process for this new album.

Lead single, released last year, from the upcoming 4th album, Keep Me Fed which is due out is a couple weeks on the 28th. The studio version was recorded with a wooden block, but the "Pau-Bell" is used live, Pau had to add it to her kit. This song has been played on the radio ,as well as the album's 2nd single "S!ck". 6 singles are out, "Hell You Call A Dream", "Que Mas Quieres", "Automatic Sun", and "Burnout" are the others. Next for TW, suggest Pau singing lead on "Dust to Dust" live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022.

All their songs on their albums, even for "Escape the Mind", are careful and meticulous _compositions_ - not just "song writing" that a lot of rock bands do. They have always been very careful about the details of _constructing_ a piece. They notably do very little improvisation on stage; outside of some "audience participation" and otherwise "organics" that happen in any concert, pretty much what you hear on the studio album is what you get in concert. One commenter I read a long time ago put it perfectly (I'm paraphrasing slightly here): _Most bands struggle to duplicate their studio sound on stage. The Warning does precisely the opposite... and often kind of fails at it. Live they are _*_better_*

as for your "deja vu" moment .... go listen to Blondie's _Heart of Glass_ and then report back to me. i also have a deja vu moment in their song _Hunter_ -- the intro riff always makes me think of _Aqualung_ . the half-step slide seems to be a staple in their songs, and they always leverage it in the most effective way i've ever heard. as a former aspiring bassist, Ale's style really fascinates me ... her lines seem accessible enough to want to try to learn while at the same time is complex and busy enough to keep you from getting bored and you'll feel like a badass when you hit it. that's a hard balance to hit consistently.

this song has a pop feel to it that kinda alienated a few fans at first. to me for some reason it reminds me a little bit of mid 90's No Doubt Gwen Stefani. I don't know if the MTV crowd is what they had in mind writing this song, but to me it was the perfect fit for MTV and the pop crowd. draw them in with something somewhat familiar to them then hit them with Evolve for their second song. only a few fans their knew who they were at the time. The warning left with a lot more fans. More loosened the roof, Evolve blew it into orbit.
