I Need An Orion Transfer Case for the FJ40. I "Easily" Remove The Old One...

The second I got home from the Rubicon I called Georg at Valley Hybrids and told him I needed to gear down. Georg was expecting my call, and he started by telling me I was going down a slippery slope. And I said, yeah, that's why I need better gearing! So to begin I am pulling my old transfer case and 4spd. I am going to replace them with a diesel spec H41 paired with a juicy Orion Transfer case provided by Vally Hybrids in Stockton CA.

Man the knee gets better every day! It’s still trash because I have no cartilage, but the regular walking pain is over.
The reason you had to remove the rear motor mounts was because the vehicle was originally equipped with a 3spd transmission. The crossmember is straight across. Your 4spd transmission is 2ins. longer than the 3spd. which moves the trans to close to the crossmember. If you look at a truck that originally came with a 4spd you'll notice the crossmember has a bend in it to allow more room for the longer transmission. I had a 71 fj40 that I put in a 4spd and like you had to remove the motor mounts. Nice job. Looking forward to the next video 👍

I just found your channel and after watching 2 videos I have subscribed to you. I don't have the money to buy the awesome FJ40, so I bought a vehicle that requires as much if not more work done to it - Jeep Wrangler LJ. 😂 I am looking forward to watching all of your videos and getting caught up with the videos of your FJ40 build and trail rides.
So I have finally caught up with all the videos. Amazing as usual. Just did a full rebuild of my transmission and transfer case through George because of my last Rubicon trip. Leaking horribly.. So much fun putting it back together! Seems like a lifetime since your last video. Hopefully the next one comes sooner. As usual, loved it and laughed. PS. Rachel should make an appearance in the next video. She's the prettier one of you too.

We took a bit of a winter break after the rubicon. Had to heal from that knee surgery and just enjoy the holidays. But we’re back in it. Excited for the struggle!
Hey Mr. Ben ! Hi Mrs. Rachael ! Did ya miss me ? I missed you . Both . Well , I will never complain again when I’m under my CJ5 banging my head in tight quarters . The FJ seems to have its quirky method and expectations of disassembly . Fear not , mr. Ben breaking out the big guns . Like how the Baur HD impact was employed and/or called into service . Appreciating the “ connentations ” being used , as always . Sorry miss Rachael 😔 . I get shy around girls when such terminology is used . Looking forward to seeing this improvement as more research and development is field tested . Well done and thanks for sharing . Could we possible see miss Rachael driving the FJ ? Please ?
