Hi Sujith , yes London and UK public transport is expensive - but the train you have boarded doesn't sound expensive when comparing to London zones travel ticket with southern or Thameslink train. Daily commute from London outskirts to London is to the tune of £40 for roughly 30-35 miles journey - so with £80 if you can travel all the way to Edinburgh from kings cross which is 400+ miles away, itsnot bad at all Overall I feel in UK domestic travels are more expensive than long distance journeys . An ofcourse when converting to INR , yes every penny counts. Enjoy Scotland.

Hi Sujith, I'm sorry to hear that you had to book a second ticket for Scotland but you didn't have to as you can travel with the train ticket for 11.30 any time after 11.30 as per condition of the ticket. So you don't need to book a second ticket as you had a valid ticket for the day at specific times. I think 87-90 pounds ticket is a regular ticket which means its not a discount/ advance ticket. So you can use ticket for 11.30, any time after 11.30 as per permitted route and peak time conditions. All Saturday and Sunday's train are off peak. I use Trainline for purchasing tickets, the conditions of tickets are shown in the app. It might be helpful for you next time. In case of any confusion, you can talk to the train company staff they are helpful. Hope this was helpful. Thank You.
