Maya, I’m in tears….That song… maybe a lot of young people don’t know it, but you have a lot of elder people who follow you, and pray for you, that know this song…Songs like these, the old hymn of old, are surely anchors for our soul. I lost my husband of 60 years to covid a year ago I miss him, thank you for bringing this song to mind, it brought ministry to my soul… It makes us sad when our loved one departs this realm, their memories is what brings us comfort. I see your dad in you Maya… His soul went back to his origin, as he fulfilled his purpose here on this earth…Your mom have his children as an extension and continuance of him, it brings comfort to her soul, remember scripture says children are a gift from God, so she will never forget the Captain! His life may seem short, but fulfilled……May God continue to go before you, and make your path straight Maya! Much Blessings! Thanks for this video 🧓🏾💕🙏🏽🙏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

🇯🇲 🇯🇲 Who am I?🇬🇭 Wode Maya. Ghana-baby. Son of the soil, Son of the meek, Son of the "Captain", Whose heart I seek. Daddy the day you died I almost cursed the sky. My heart was ripped and dripping. Days of stress, it was depressing. Pain still lingers in my quiet moments. Still trying to unite the Black continent. Memories of you, Dad, I cherish. Still a Utuber, future looking lavish. From abject poverty we came. You thought me life is a game. Play by the rules, no-one to blame. Be kind & forget not the past. A million subs will be a "blast".

Your dad is definitely proud of you. I can relate with a lot of what you said in this video. My dad always came to meet me and see me off at the airport. Even when my husband(then fiancé) came to get me, my dad would tag along. And he and my mum always kept my passport till I had to travel again. Those prayers and fasting for us all has brought us thus far🙏🏾🙏🏾. May God continue to give him rest. It is a blessing to have parents who will move heaven and earth for their children.

This video was hard to watch as I lost my dad 19 years ago when I was in Germany. Our dads had a mutual German friend (Mr Berthold Winkler) in Takoradi. Both were God-fearing men and a lot of what you said reminded me of my dad especially with the Mercedes Benz:) When I was in Germany I planned to get my dad a Mercedes ML at the time. Sad I couldn’t give him that. As I’m moving back to Ghana in a couple of days I wish he would be there to see his grandchildren! I’m grateful to God for keeping my mum. May the souls of our departed dads continue to rest in perfect peace! God bless you bro! Your Dad’s legacy lives on. His values lives in you!

"christ" is higher consciousness, that we all, of us Humans can attain once we do the necessary work. It is an Afrikan concept that yurugu stole to create their myth of a historical person named j. christ! No such man ever existed! It is also ironic that Afrikans embrace the ideologies of the very same people who kidnapped and enslaved Their Ancestors without asking the question, how could the same people who perpetuated such heinous crimes against them and their people, be the same ones to guide you to heaven/paradise?

I feel you Wode Maya, I lost my dad in February 2019 He was a reverend and he really loved God. I was very close to him and sometimes the memories are very strong. I miss his calls, his Prayer phone calls, encouragements, our chats etc But most especially when he would pray for us when we are arriving at home and when leaving and the evening fellowships etc. I laughed when you say that your father asked you to join him in singing in church, my dad loved doing this every now and then, there was this day he called us with my siblings but we had not practiced the song very well, then we started laughing we were just young kids. I miss him very much and many times I get emotional. He will always live in our hearts and memories

Not only would my dad tell me what's the right thing to do but he would also tell me what he would do. He was a wonderful person who is truly loved by everyone in his community. My dad was a proud black man and a ex black panther. My dad always wore dashikis and African pendants. I miss him very much. This is been the longest I have ever went without speaking to him for guidance. But I know that I am the man that he made and I will do well. When you said “ I miss going down on my knees, his touch, because he had a spirit of God” , that’s exactly why I love my mom, her prayers, she would even pray over my clothes when I’m away, “ she has a spirit of God and I live for her prayers... I’m who I am because of her prayers and I don’t know how you are coping without your dad’s prayers . I’m sorry for your loss.

Oh my goodness! This one brought tears and made me reflect a lot this morning. I believe your dad is looking down with pride and appreciation because he raised a great man! I lost my dad 9 years ago and can relate very much, especially being "a dad pleaser." I wish my dad were here to see the person I have become, but he is not here to see and enjoy with me, which hurts- We indeed have an anchor that keeps the soul, and only the Lord can fill the void left by a loving and caring father. To all of us grieving, let's continue to keep and cherish those loving memories in our hearts. Wow! I watch most of your videos, but this one moved me to comment-my first comment- A great tribute to a great dad! God bless you abundantly and keep you and your family!

I think that is one perspective of death… We are all going to die if the Lord tarries, but it’s something that we don’t really think or focus on until it hit home or very close to home, then we are devastated! Our creator gives us all time, only we don’t know how long, so you are at a good place family…. It’s good to reflect, and be full of gratitude and thanksgiving… 🧓🏾😘💕🙏🏽

I can feel your pain, I also lost my dad one year ago and it is really not easy. All you can do to honor your dad is to continue his legacies and give your life to God.

You really look like Elder Charles now. The last time I was in Ghana, I saw his funeral poster on a wall and I was broken. Elder Charles, continue to rest well. God bless Auntie Maggie for the good work.

If you understand ancestors, you know that their energy never dies. Your father’s energy still exists in another realm and his words and ways said in life, were positive for the future, for your future thoughts and ways. You do him honor by being the shining light that his hope rested on. Love is a powerful motivator!

My dear young brother… I know that ‘society’ has taught us that, ‘men don’t cry’, yet… God gave men tears, too. They were put there to ‘shed’ during times of ‘pain’ and ‘grief’ to give you a release and provide relief. Yes, you are truly a man… a human. Your Dad and my Mom both passed on the same day & month (26 April) only she passed 3 yrs. earlier in 2014. And your birthday is 1 day after mine (you - 3 March, and me - 2 March)… just thought that was interesting, as I DEEPLY miss her, too. Just know that your Dad planted many infallible seeds in you through how he lived his life, what he taught you, and how he prayed for you - with the most important of him sharing his faith. You will ALWAYS ‘miss’ the physical presence of your Dad… there’s nothing I can say to ease that heaviness… and although people may tell you that ‘time’ heals all wounds… I’ve found that time just makes things a little more tolerable. Keep doing ‘good’ things, young blood… for The Most High (TMH) is truly with you. As you told the story of always looking for ways to please/impress your Dad… continue to do that, as TMH (your spiritual Father) is being pleased. Talk to Him as you would your Dad… anytime… then be still in your spirit… and in the quiet moments you will receive your response. May the peace of The Most High that surpasses ALL understanding rest, rule, and reign upon you, now and forevermore… Know that you are well loved throughout the world, Wode Maya. Peace and blessings to you… love you much, Shalom.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Wode Maya, I thank you for that song. I'm from the beautiful island of Barbados. When the young lady started singing, I heard my mom, who is now passed, singing those same words. It brought sweet tears to my eyes and vivid memories. My mom sang a more upbeat version of the song, while beating her cymbal with her church army group.

Wode you just reminded me of my dad.. a very powerful man. He was a soldier and highly disciplined.. unfortunately he died @ 56.. When I think of all I have achieved without him, all the emotions come back.. He fought the good fight even though it was short. Please take heart. It is what it is.

I shared a tear unexpectedly, because this is the song we sang at my beloved daughter's ( 16yrs old) funeral service, a different tune, but the same words. May the soul of your dad rest in peace, he would have been proud of you.

THANK YOU for sharing! I identify with your joy and sadness when you talk about what you remember and miss about your dad. I lost both parents within two months of each other in 2015. It still feels like yesterday. Your father would beVERY PROUD of the man you have become... (and yes! REAL MEN DO CRY). I speak the Aaronic Blessing (Numbers 6:24-26)🙏🏽 over you today. May GOD continue to guide, protect, and BLESS you and Trudy abundantly beyond measure. GOD BLESS your entire family.

I have never ever comment on any thing I watch on social media, but I couldn't resist on this particular show of yours. I lost my husband of twenty years through covid , he was a health care worker and contracted as he was saving those affected. I feel like I would one day look back as your Mum has done raising the three boys he left behind into prominent people in society as you have become. Thanks very much for your strength.
