I Met A Cute Malaysian Girl In The Jungle 🇲🇾

I met the amazing Indigenous Malay people called the Orang Asli today. It was an incredible journey to trek through the wild jungle with them, and to end the day with eating the delicious traditional food they had prepared.

Kacang botol = Winged bean (it has other names too like four angled bean) It is rich in protein, can be eaten raw or cooked. In fact, the whole plant is edible including leaves, flower and roots

You can buy the wing beans in Australia in some Asian stores except they are expensive.

8:15 oh man that candy is so good!!!! I got it from Amazon. The salt in it adds a nice flavor! It’s not sweet like candy. Very refreshing too!

The advantage of folks living outside any city or town proper, the indigenous people, is their knowledge of what the forest could offer to survive. The "jungle berries" are one that city folks may just ignore if they get lost in the forest. When your guides were explaining the prepared food, I heard the guy say "Labong" and at first I thought maybe I misheard the guy. But when the gal was getting you your food and you recognized it as "bamboo shoots", then the Malaysian have the same name for it as in the Philippines, labong. Eating with your hand is done best if you're using banana leaves as your plate and you're eating grilled meat or fish... another good video David...

They're Temuan native tribe, common in Selangor..in fact Damansara Perdana area used to be their settlement before it's being developed today by MK Land. You can find their resettlement homes by the developer hidden from the main road
