They still are not majority in TN. Now, let me come to your "illegal". I'd advise you go through Article 48 of Indian constitution where it states “The state shall endeavour to organise agriculture and animal husbandry on modern and scientific lines and shall, in particular, take steps for preserving and improving the breeds and prohibiting the slaughter of cows and calves and other milch and draught cattle.” since it's a state that legistates this law , TN banned cow or calf slaughtering and upto 3 years jail term or 1000 fine. Here you need to understand this "Beef consumption and slaughter of economically worthless animals allowed in TN". This is a loophole which many use legally. I and my family members are totally against slaughtering cow or calf or ox or buffalo! In fact, we are vegitarians for generations. And i still iterate that your lack of knowledge that leads you to manipulate anything and everything!
