An ambitious project… My local Lowe’s home store finally got in exactly one 4x8 sheet of the 1” Foamular pink XPS, so I snapped it up to build my own city boards. I had started the project buying the pre-cut 2x2 project panels, which are convenient but significantly more expensive than the big sheets. Unfortunately, once I got the 4x8 sheet paid for and was breaking it down in the parking lot to fit in my car, I noticed those same pre-scored grooves that you encountered! What a pain! I have been able to work around them, mostly making modular “half boards” that are 1x2, but those existing grooves were extremely inconvenient and wound up erasing any of my cost savings in the end…
I love modularity. Also, I've been wanting to build more large scale builds. I've not tackled anything of this magnitude... yet. Rest assured, I will be watching all of this project, with keen interest. This looks super cool, and I'm sure it will turn out as well as all stuff. Way to go, Garman

Got to love a city type of terrain build!
Nice! Big, bold, bodacious! Looking fwd to seeing how it all evolves!
Exciting project, looking forward to more
yay city build! yay moonstone! awesome!
I wish you luck on your project. But I’m sure you won’t need it because I’ve seen your work and it always turns out perfect . Can’t wait to see your future game board. Good luck and can’t wait to see the video.👍👍
once i have all the foam and the hot wire I will be recreating sharn city of towers from ebberon, this was a good start to give me a idea how to lay out the project !
Lol I feel your pain on these series of videos. I always build with the philosophy of go big, or go home. I’m a month into building 10 ruined buildings for my home game. The bricking process was so tedious. Great job though on the finished boards, this will probably be my next build based on what you’ve built.
Can’t wait to see this come together!
Will be watching with interest, good luck with your build 😀😀
Because I want to is the very best reason to start any craft project
I can’t wait to see the progress.
Wow!! Good luck. Necer give up. Never surrender.
Dude, yes! This looks like it will be epic!!
spent years watching youtube tutorials of terrain building and finally building my first terrain this weekend. Thanks for all your tips!
Now this is going to be epic
sooo excited to where this goes! keep posting!
Really looking forward to this build! Great idea with the notches at the edges of the foam. I have those on my xps as well and was never sure what to do with them.
I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT VID!
Can't wait to see more of this build! Do you already have enough "stuff" to fill up a board that size?
Great idea. This will be awesome. Are you going to build any modular bridges?
Good idea with the templates! I´ll build a board in the warcry / aos size. A little difficult for 44x60 in 8 pieces as i want a lot of variety for warcry (22x30)
What is that pad of paper you were sketching on? Look like nice sized squares for a job like this
