Beautiful rock :) Would put in my pocket. 10/10. Would often take rock out of pocket to show friends rock. Thank you :) But also happy to hear the anxiety/panic disorder has gotten a bit better. Struggled with that for a long time and it can just completely remove you from your own life if you don't deal with it. It's always nice to not feel so alone on something that makes you feel absolutely isolated.

Agreed. Panic attacks aren’t fun, but a fun part of ourselves we have to carve into what we like, like a rock. Like a. Rock…. Anyways yeah it’s important to know something’s that while people are busy hating themselves, what they put out for others can make them deeply loved. Don’t forget that, readers!

I had depression as a child. Treatment in a specialized facility worked but as a side effect I developed anxiety that got worse at night. I went through years and years of therapy and meds. No child should go through that bs, but today I'm almost completely anxiety-free. Still I might get some flashes of anxiety, which kinda scares me. But there is hope, with treatment you can beat depression and banish anxiety back into the shadows.

Just wanted to say that you put out wonderfully balanced content that is the right amount of silliness, artistry, and wholesomeness. I watched my father die in 2017 and haven’t been dealing with it very well. But as odd as it may seem.. you inspired me to do something about it. @@mj-sw2nh The biggest concern of mine is the fact that many, many of their "mental health professionals" are in fact, unlicensed people that resemble life coaches more than therapists in any way, shape or form. They're completely unregulated, too. Secondly, and I don't think they're still using this as one of their selling points, but the whole "contact your therapist at any time" thing is highly unethical, as it can, and in some cases *will* , lead to patients feeling dependency towards their therapist. That's why there's no such thing as "my tharapist is my friend" or "i'm friends with my patient!", as it's illegal in most countries due to the risk it poses for both parties. Third, betterhelp sells customer data for comercial purposes, having been fined for ~$7M by the FTC some time ago. Lastly, there's a youtuber who's an actual therapist who spoke against them and critized their practices, and betterhelp started censoring her and taking down her videos so yeah.

You can use the trick of using cured resin sticks as the supports for things you want to appear suspended in the resin. Just make use the same resin as the one you plan to use for the fill so that they have the same refractive index, and blend in with the fill.

People have also complained about being paired with a therapist that treated them poorly, ranging from being careless or inconsiderate towards them to victim-blaming them for the trauma they’re there to talk about. It has been mentioned that bad therapy can occur in-person too and people have had decent experiences on BetterHelp but, especially with their handling of users’ health data, what I’ve heard about them has made me wary enough to pursue other options instead.

Working through the problem. How you do that is going to vary individual to individual. My now partner was in a toxic relationship, struggles with trust, worries load and suffers anxiety. It didn't matter what I said, she had to figure it out for herself, but when she did, all it needed was my support. She's come on leaps and bounds, but for every 3 steps forward it doesn't take much to knock her back 2 steps - it's a long, slow process, but it needs to be, otherwise you're probably in denial about it.

If you want to avoid the visibility of the rods, what you can do is look up the index of refraction for the material and then try and find either an appoxee that matches the index of refraction or material that matches the epoxies index of refraction. Or you can just make the rods out of the epoxy. Anyway, it looks super cool and like a fun project.

That lensing effect is WILD! The reason you can see the acrylic rods is twofold: first, the refractive index of the acrylic is just slightly off from that of the resin, and second, that resin pour was AMAZING! It was so clear that I would believe it was glass. Ditto with your top notch polishing, just gorgeous.

You can just pour some sand into the rock and add a little resin to that. You can move the sand around to where you want, then all you need to do is let it cure. That will allow you to forego the "gluing", "smooshing", and "baking". It's an effective technique I learned from watching diorama artists =)

thank you for talking so candidly about mental health and how it effects you. i was thinking "man this guy is living the neurodivergent/adhd dream, completely and unapologetically himself" and then you talked about your struggles with anxiety, and im currently in that struggle. im trying to get help, but wanting help and actually getting help has turned out to be quite the struggle for me. its one thing for people to say "it gets better" or "ive been there and it gets better" and another to see someone who feels so. human? personal? like me? actually talk about their struggles, how it affected them, and then how it really does get better. to see that better, but not perfect. to understand what comes next, what is possible, what you can do. thank you for that

What totally cured me of anxiety and full blown panic attacks was, I listened to an emergency doctor when I was stuck in a severe anxiety attack for 3 days. I couldn't eat or even drink and lost 15 lbs in those 3 days, bringing me to under 100 lbs. So off to the emergence to see if they could give me something. He didn't give me anything except advice. Stop all caffeine intake and go easy on sugar. So no coffee, no chocolate, no dark soft drinks/pop, and definitely no energy drinks. After about a week or so I was totally cured. Even my heart palpatation completely stopped and so did my nightmares, when I used to get at least 2 a night. I had even stopped dreaming. Found out coffee also makes you dream. I'm not saying this is a cure for everyone or that this is the cause of everyone's anxiety, but it couldn't hurt to give it a try. It's been over 10 years now without an attack.

Not always true, unless the thread is exactly the same Refractive Index as the cured resin, and even then you get a small boundary layer where light can bend. In this context in an enclosed area looking down, would likely be fine though, and far less obvious than the stems used.
