Dealing with 8 sims isn't that hard. Day 1 while they are still standing on the sidewalk add a bed for each of them then 2 couches facing one TV, a bookshelf and chair, then 1 other form of entertainment. Pick a sim and have them read the cook book that comes with the shelf, tell 4 of them to watch TV, have 1 sim do the other entertainment, and 2 talk to each other after getting a job. Then once bladders and hygiene start to drop start having them use the toilet and shower so you get all their bladder and hygiene meters staggered while also rotating them from TV to finding work and socializing. Dinner time have the cookbook reader cook dinner for everyone then if there's still time before bed let them do their own thing. 9ish at night send them all to bed. The next day those that found work will go after a snack/quick meal and those that didn't can look again while you make sure they use the toilet before the workers get home and the cook reads more cook book in the morning if they are without a job. Once the workers come home have the cook start dinner before everyone is hungry. Also once the workers are home and paid add more entertainment for the sims so all 8 can be doing something fun at the same time. First week after day 2 entertainment adding save up cash for work skill related items and a second toilet/shower room. You get the second toilet/shower and maintain the cook making sure there is fresh food for the lot you are pretty much home free from the most difficult part and can let them tend to their own bladders and stink plus find something to do the rest of the time. Then it's just send them to bed and up for food you don't have to cook before work as your hard job as well as tell one of them to up their work skill a day and you only deal with them 1 at a time. If you just let them do whatever until their needs are all messed up and they don't have enough beds or entertainment then try to set them right is when it gets difficult.
