I'm not sure if you've already done an Anastasia doll, but she's one of my favorite characters. And a Christine doll from the Phantom of the opera might be fun too!! I'd also love to see Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables. I just adore her character :)

If you're looking for very different outfits, you could look into the amazing female characters of Black Panther and Wakanda forever. I think that the Queen of hearts from Alice in Wonderland would be cool. Also, I love your Rapunzel! She’s perfect 😍
I love it!! Would be awesome to make her a changeable hair to have the flower braided hair version too 😍

How could you doubt your painting skills?! It turned out wonderful! You and your mom have mad skills!! Have you thought about a My Fair Lady doll? Audrey Hepburn had several beautiful dresses to choose from. Thanks for what you do Poppen! Good work as always!
I think it would be interesting to see you re make one of your first dolls, and compare how your skills have developed!
If you're looking for ideas, I think it would be cool to make a Crowley doll from Good Omens! In the TV series he has many different outfits and hairstyles from different time periods - some as a woman, some as a man - so you could choose which gender doll to use as a base! Also, since he can turn into a snake, no matter what outfit you pick there's cool stuff like his yellow snake eyes and a little tattoo on his face, and whatever accessories you want to make could be subtly snake-themed. Good omens in general is an all-time fave for me, with a lot of characters who I could see being very cool dolls!
I think it’d be fun to see Ariel pink dress or her wedding dress! The pink dress has a lot of details so I think it’d be more of a challenge if your mom is looking for one
Anastasia has some BEAUTIFUL outfits. The Broadway show even won awards for the costumes being so intricate. Plus she is a beautiful girl with a lovely story and fun movie. I think it would make for a great video!
I love your dolls! For some inspiration, I would love to see you make a doll based on Christine from the Phantom of the Opera, specifically from the stage musical. She has so many gorgeous costumes!
I can’t remember if you’ve made her or not, but Anastasia (my favorite princess) from the animated movie has some gorgeous outfits, especially her blue ballet gown and her coronation dress. Just a thought :)
As always your Mom's skill at sewing small delicate and detailed clothing is amazing. This is such a sweet faced Rapunzel. The freckles absolutely make her look so innocent. The painting accessories are the cherry on top.

I'd love to see more mythological god's/goddesses this year! Greek, Roman, Norse, I just love mythology lol. A couple more ideas: - Anything zodiac or astrology inspired. - Dolls inspired by different gemstones or crystals (emerald, diamond, ruby, sapphire, etc.) - On a similar note, dolls inspired by tarot cards would be awesome - I'm obsessed with anything medieval, and the outfits in that time period could be really fun and interesting. - different types of witches, as they are traditionally portrayed in different cultures or countries (first one that comes to mind is baba yaga, which would be amazing!)
So beautiful! Your mum is so skilled it's always wonderful to see her creations in these vids! Two of my favourite dresses from films that I'd love to see her interpretation of (plus your version of the characters) is the dress Sarah wears in the film Labyrinth, and the dress Danielle wears in Ever After: A Cinderella Story!

@KateandBree

She has many beautiful costumes, but it’s also deeply problematic with the Indian costumes.
@PhoenixWolfAnime
Жыл бұрын
@@KateandBree No it’s not. First of all, in the movie, it’s a French play set in India. What were they supposed to do, not have the sets and costumes reflect Indian fashions, or ship in Indian actors and not employ the destitute actors of their own country? It’s a beautiful homage to Indian fashion and art. Second of all ‘cultural appropriation’ only seems to go one way. No one blinks an eye at Christian white weddings being appropriated by nearly every other country since queen Victoria wore her glamorous white dress. It’s prudent to recognize that adoration, appreciation and practise of a culture other than your own is a positive mark left by the most inspiring aspects of what other people show and offer to the world. Do not confuse this for colonization, which is more in tune to restricting and eliminating the practise of culture, or ignorance of the significance behind the meaning of any given cultural practise. Do not let your ethnicity stop you from admiring and paying tribute to the cultures that inspire you and extend the same honour to people of other ethnicities who admire and pay tribute to your culture.
@KateandBree
Жыл бұрын
@@PhoenixWolfAnime First off, I'm not Indian and I've traveled quite extensively (grew up military.) Second, many Indian bloggers have written extensively on Moulin Rouge! and how it culturally appropriates Bollywood (as Baz Luhrmann got the whole idea from watching a Bollywood movie), its casual use of sari (and the lack of any taste and cultural sensitivity) and using Indian song in the wrong context. Sure, this is also what makes the movie great, but it absolutely lacks sensitivity. We can be aware of both. Also, funny you mention Christianity and "Christian" white dresses and Victoria wore the "first" white dress. Historical record shows Jewish women have been wearing white to their wedding 500 years before Victoria. Traditional Japanese brides have worn a pure white kimono (shiromuku) since the Heian period (794 to 1185 AD) for the ceremony. Victoria wasn't the first, just the first "celebrity." Many cultures, you'll notice, that have adopted the contemporary wedding dress were once colonies of England, France, Spain, the Netherlands or the United States. Perhaps that should give you pause. As a person who realizes not only is my "race" considered the "dominant" but also my religion was used as means to colonize 6 continents and to enslave, rape and commit genocide others, I am sensitive to others in that I do not ever confuse appreciation with appropriation. Appreciation means I learn why a piece of clothing is worn, when it is appropriate to wear and wear it with dignity. Appropriation means recognizing when something is worn or shown with no taste.
