Use applesauce (unsweetened is usually better, it's flavorless and you'd never know plus it gives any baking goods an amazing moisture; I learned this in chef school)

Do I absolutely need bread flour or is there a substitute? Just asking so I have all my bases covered.

Bread flour has more protein than all purpose so it is is best for use with yeast where you want it to stretch & have some chew….it’s not ideal for brownies. I’m thinking it would make them dense and gummy.

1. Preheat your oven to 350 deg F 2. In a medium bowl combine: 1 stick melted butter 1/4 cup cocoa powder 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp instant espresso (I used a double shot of liquid espresso) 2 eggs 3. in a large bowl combine: 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup bread flour 1/2 baking powder pinch of salt 4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients 5. Add in 1 cup of melted chocolate and mix in 6. Bake for 20-25 minutes 7. (Optional) Splash some oat milk on your brownies right out of the oven and let them cool 8. (Optional) Sprinkle with flakey salt *copied from the link in description

@cupki is it ½ tsp or ½ tbsp of baking powder? I have a copy of the recipe but I find myself messing up a bit because it's complicated converting from grams to cups (every website I go on has slightly different conversions) so my Brownies are always slightly off 😭 I also don't like coffee so I brown the butter instead for a nuttier flavor if anyone wants to try that.
