Also, a future version of Yeah with an "inverse" output for the envelope follower would be useful for creating a sidechain-like expression output. That would be very very cool, and not something I've seen in pedal form before.

I've been looking for a "Yeah"! There is nothing out there like it I can find. The closest thing that I know of is to create a custom ZOIA patch. I'm eagerly watching your store page waiting for the Yeah to show up 🙏 EDIT: Found that it's under "Misc" and not under "Pedals"

After I saw this video, I ordered the Yeah and Lust. I got the Yeah yesterday and hooked it to my Afterneath and to the Boss SY1. If you use your own instrument signal, it can sound very cool and organic modulations. Then I ran a drum machine as the signal while my guitar was on the SY1 and it would very quickly cycle through the filter on whatever setting I had, but at the beat of the drum machine. It came out really really cool. I think I'll run it through the Pigtronix Mothership next! Thanks Simon! Such a cool idea!

I couldn't find anything similar to the 'Yeah' pedal either so I tried to build my own using the (very basic) envelope follower circuit from Nicholas Collins - Handmade Electronic Music: The Art of Hardware Hacking and rigged it up to an LED/photoresistor optocouple thing. It worked and opened up some cool possibilities on my other pedals with EXP connections, but I didn't include a 'thru' path which I see you have put in that makes it way more practical! I found the sensitivity and range needed to be tweaked a lot to get good results on different pedals, so quite hard to set up for a live situation, interested to see more on this one if you've solved that in demos, or try it out myself if you're making more? Tip for anyone who got one or is DIYing it - a compressor in before the envelope generator helps in a lot of situations. Could also be a market for an envelope generator (rather than follower) with adjustable ADSR characteristics, maybe tying the attack time or sustain level to input level? Modular synth lot are probably all over this but not in pedal form.

-Add a joystick/s to the tube feedback pedal with its function of controlling volumes of different feedback circuits on +x, +y, -x and -y axis. add on/off switches as alternative to buttons. You could morph/blend between the different droning feedback circuits. -add individual i/o for each circuit to add external effects.

Now I'm trying to figure out what it actually was, um, so when you're at the talkbox and then cede into the springs I remembered. I'm not completely sure but I think it was that the signal got played into a kind of a chamber, twas an old barbecue half sphere and then 8 strings were strung through the space that also had a reverb plate. The hope was that all that various sound pressure, the speaker driving both the strings, with a pickup mounted, and the plate with piezos, could then be mixed with feedback applied as well. That was almost the last project before, it was quite a while ago, I finally got taken up by a art gallery and the painting and normal sculpture took off (for a few years)... then I went on holiday for ten years... but now I'm back! Anyway, I just thought that interactivity, physical, might be useful. Actually thing about it I should look into the sustainers, using coils to drive the strings themselves.

Feedback Organ is the kind of thing I watch your channel for. The nozzle cap things could be silicone so you could stretch them and fit different plugs or sound funnels or make the whole thing easy to take out on either side; then..... that same idea you had could be explored in various, more echo-prone environments for feedback play.. like in a cave or something. Super cool man :)

I have no idea how much you're selling that for, it's likely too much for my poor pockets, but God damn yes man, I salute you. Also, idea for your feedback machine - put many little mics and speakers on sliders in their own tubes.

I got an idea for a pedal that I think you are the only one capable of making into reality. (I have no idea how to make it work myself) It would be a type of delay pedal where the buffer would be effected by rolling a giant trackball from an arcade game, like Golden Tee. Rolling it on the X axis should do something and rolling on the Y axis should do something else. What? I don't know. Maybe delay time if you roll it forward/ away from you? Reverse if you roll backwards/ towards you? Right and Left? Glitch? Pitch? Feedback? It should only effect the audio when you roll the trackball so you could use short/quick rolls like a turntable. Or, roll it very hard to make it last as long as possible and get some aggression out. You use your imagination, I just want one of the pedals when you are finished.

I have a pedal from a while ago called Clari(Not). It is a slap-back delay that has it's time controlled by the intensity of the input signal. It also had a built in fuzz. I modded it to give me an envelope out to hook to modular gear back when I was playing a lot. I think they used a vactrol inside to control it. I'm assuming it would work the same way if you hooked up the expression pedal to the Lust pedal. Would love to see.

man I wish shipping wasn't likely to be so much to New Zealand that it would double the price of the pedal or I'd love a couple of your creations. So the 6 OSC droney randomy thingo - slew on the S&H would be a nice addition? Also - instead of (as well as) random it's using the Turing Machine algorithm so if we like the pitch pattern we can have it repeat predictably? Just a thought. And another thought. I like this idea of checking out while you create then coming back to show what you did with the time. Maybe I should steal that idea, the internet is hellishly distracting! Nice to see you back and great to see how productive you've been!!
