@@electionsretrospective6256 ...I mean he is? Every protagonist is supposed to be likable in some way. Otherwise the audience gets pissed off. Or bored. Or depressed. Or just generally starts questioning their purchasing decision. Batman was inspired largely by Zorro, who is "typically portrayed as a dashing masked vigilante who defends the commoners and indigenous peoples of California against corrupt and tyrannical officials and other villains." And Batman is pretty much that, but for the fictional urban city of Gotham. And I don't know many people who don't like dashing vigilantes fighting for justice, even if they're broody. At least thats how Batman was originally portrayed, I know different writers/media have played around with the character.

For example: Bruce: Does something incredibly awkward Game: NPC will remember that All those self help things tell you no one will remember the weird things you do. Yeah this is more Zach Snyder. Frank Miller may have made Dark Knight strikes again and Allstar, (no one takes those ones seriously anyway) but he also made Year 1 and Dark Knight Returns. Zach Snyder however, he managed to ruin Batman's character and people became his fans just for that
