I have read that they live in areas with little humidity and that they need at least one completely dry area. What can you tell me about your experience? Can they stay in completely humid terrariums? naturally not the paludarium-type aquatic ones, it's a variety that I really like too and I would like to put them in woodland-type terrariums. I'm Italian and I hope that Google translator has translated well :))

@Antonella Tundo well they are a large species so I wouldn't recommend putting them in anything smaller than 6×6 inches. In my experience they do need a dry area. That does not mean they won't live in a humid environment but they certainly won't thrive to their fullest. It is a hardy species so it should be able to adapt fairly well. Even if they have leaf litter or hard scape to escape from moist substrate I would think they would do fine

At the moment I am keeping Cubaris sp Panda King very successfully but Scaber Lava would give a nice touch of color to terrariums. Good job and thanks for sharing your creations with us :))

my favourite feature was the wood acting as if it was making a cave over the pond, also the leaf litter, moss and botanicals were spread out in a very pleasing ratio. Planting behind the hardscape had a beautiful effect that the terrarium continued outside of the terrarium like it was a real forest. In my opinion this is a 10/10 build.

Porcellio scaber “Lava” is your Isopod species and it’s common morph name. Looks great!

These are the videos I always watch before bed as they are so calming relaxing and wonderful to look at

In the future, undo the perfect geometry of the pond (or any plastic accessory used for any purpose). I do this by submerging in boiling water. That gets most plastics soft enough to reshape by hand. Use cold water to lock in the shape. Repeat until you are satisfied, ☮️❤️🌈

This is one of my favorites so far. I love the round shape of the glass it would look good in most parts of the house. Using the wood made this look like a mini forest and the acorns were a plus. Nice job.

You need Buffalo Beetles and blue death feigning beetles but you have to wait until all 3 start overpopulating and then you can add 6 blue death feigning beetles

beautiful! a little silly question: how do you find glass lids like you put on the top at the end? i've seen a lot of people use them, but all the jars and bowls i can find either come with a proper closing mechanism or none at all, and im not the type to cut round pieces of glass lol

Really nice build! Though I'm wondering, did you do anything to the acorn to prevent it from sprouting? Or will you replace it once it has grown too much?

Ima use coco fibre AND leca for the drainage because I'm gonna do a 2 gallon

Love the acorn ❤ it's so sweet😊 my terrarium got moldy even with the isopods 😅 I guess they are slow cleaners! And I don't know if there are enough spring tails there cause it's the black species

That's basically the same exact thing I was gonna do, with a spherical glass jar and a pond in the center, except to imitate the Garden of Eden, and I was gonna make a replica Tree of Life on a crystal/rock in the pond! I hope to do it someday, but idk if I can do it now.

A few small garden millipedes would add some interest. They're only 1" - 1 1/2" long, and won't bother the isopods or springtails like garden centipedes would. I love the pond. It adds a lot to the terrarium.

This was well made! You even showed it a few weeks later! The duckweed is brilliant! I have a piece of feedback...that piece of driftwood at the water could work as an escape for the isopods, if it were dipping in the water. Or is the rough surface on the sides enough for them to crawl out of the water to escape?

Good idea! They’ll be able to climb out as it is but that would definitely make it easier:)

for the pond you can also used hardened clay.

I believe those are Lava Isopods as I have those too

You should add shrimp to the mini pond
