Simply tie a string at least of that length to something you place that distance away from the curve you want to trace, and tie the other end to the pencil. Perfect curve of exactly that radius of curvature... every time

Back seat craftsman here. You could’ve just printed out the engineering drawing in 1:1 scale and then just tape it over the MDF as a template for where you should cut. It won’t be perfect but it’s far better than what you did.

Not checking if its been commented, but the show you are thinking of tied to billy and mandy was Evil con carne. It takes place in the same universe as billy and mandy, originally, the two shows were piloted and aired as a single slot called Grim and Evil. You would get 15 minutes of grim, 15 minutes of evil. However Billy and Mandy was significantly more popular so the network ordered more Grim episodes and aired them as a double slot.

I mean that's a damn admirable effort. For using nothing but hand held power tools it looks embarrassingly close to something you'd get professionally CNCed. I've always said the difference between a handy person and a not handy person is the willingness to try and fucked it up. You did not fuck this up. Good work.

Honestly good fucking job getting a respirator and goggles on for cutting the MDF. So many people don't wear adequate PPE with that stuff. There is an irritant resin that can fuck you up when it's put in the air. My only other suggestion would be ear defenders, circular saws are loud and in a garage like that you might be more comfortable.

So, something that might help with your trackballs is installing a roller system, so, basically getting some ball bearings that sit in the support rods, should lower the friction and make any ball work at least a bit better.

Was about to suggest something similar, looks like it's just setting on some kind of cradle thing. some rollers with bearings for the ball to sit on and even the imperfect ball would probably work pretty decent. Was thinking like of something like the inside of an old roller ball pc mouse but with multiple levels of rollers.

hey Ian, for drawing clean arcs, look up an arc drawing jig, they are fairly easy to cobble one together quickly. You're router is also a lot more handy than you think, it can be used to make a sphere, and also could have been used to make a clean circular cut out for the sphere on the cabinet there. Really depends on the amount of time you want to put into things, but you may be able to save that epoxy sphere you have by making a jig for your router to cut skim in down to a proper profile.

The circles were different because you used converse shoelaces, which have stretch to them. So the amount of force exerted while drawing affected the curvature. Gotta use fishing line or something more taught

This is the biggest pill to swallow for his new fans. It's not that people are clawing and frothing at the mouth for him to spout racism, it's that he straight up told his fans that he didn't like them anymore.
