I created a summer inspired, indie rock/surf rock rig in my Quad Cortex using some of my favorite pedals and one of my favorite amp! Since it's July and Summer is among us, my wife suggested I make some vibey tones inspired by The Beach Boys, Vampire Weekend, Harry Styles, and others in the beach-y Indie Rock genre.
In this video, I'm taking you along for the journey on how I was able to capture a couple of my my go-to pedals and amp: the Belle Starr, Moonshine, and Supro Delta King 12 as well as dial in some vibey modulation, delay, and reverb tones inside of the Quad Cortex. I'll take you through my process and discuss the ins and outs of the guitar fx, how I dialed them in, signal chain, and the why behind what I chose. We'll cover it all from compression, fuzz, overdrive, amp tone, vibrato, chorus, tremolo, spring reverb, and modulated reverb.
Once we've got our rig programmed and ready to go in the Quad Cortex, we'll put it to the test with a Summer Surf Rock / Indie Rock anthem to demo the wide variety of tones we just made!
