I Made a Notecard-Based Productivity System

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I’ve tried a ton of productivity apps, tools, notebooks, and planners. As such, I decided to experiment with a simple, notecard-based productivity system that has worked great for managing projects and tasks. In this video, I’ll show you how it works (and how you can use it too).

My favourite is my de-ringed mini filofax, which contains sheets of A7 sized paper, secured by a bulldog clip. I think your system is more elegant than mine, but we are both achieving the same thing.

I really like the concept of a pocket “briefcase”. Thanks for sharing this.

I get what the aim of the ✅ on the back of cards is, but this creates a 50% card wastage. Much more efficient to simply strike through the used side, turn it over and add your next task there. This halves the number of active cards bouncing around which was a key consideration for why planners were bad…

I deleted my previous comment/question about Radarist (which I absolutely LOVE) because I just discovered that I can expand the yellow notes section. Thanks!

The "pocket briefcase" is interesting. I have used a Filofax "Gotta" before, but it only holds 6 sheets of paper. I'm increasingly experimenting with using a bunch of card sized pieces of paper, all held together with a clip. Typically around 60 sheets at a time. Thanks for sharing.

I like that you can reorder the stack based on priority! Only problem is I still need another place to gather todos that are generated, e.g. when I'm consuming social media like tiktok I often want to try something so I need to write it down somewhere. My to do list to improve my knees and other imbalances are 100+ long 😂

Sounds like a ring planner without the rings. I need the rings to keep my pages organised otherwise…chaos 😂

How satisfying to “throwaway” done. But…I find that much of what is done will happen again: taxes, cleaning and de-cluttering, menus, mending, and the old stand-by maintenance of home, appliances, and the at home office. So I would file my “done” cards for the next season of money-saving and do-it-yourself projects. All because of living “life.”

Really great ideas. Thanks for sharing. My goodness, there was a lot of waffling on and on. Twenty minutes way too long to get the information across. This would make a good one minute Short video
