Heya everyone! Hope you’re enjoying the video! I am getting some comments surrounding “copying” Martincitopants, which I want to clear up. Yes, this video is at some points reminiscent of Martincitopants Factorio video, especially moments in the first half of my video. He was the entire reason I wanted to make content in the first place. I love the guy, and credit should be handed out, where it’s deserved. He really is the man, when it comes to creating awesome content! I knew my video would be slightly alike to his video, when editing and uploading. Some elements like the “activist” story is the same idea. I could’ve just called them biters for instance, but then have no story surrounding them. Also the use of “expanding” is used once. You people should ofc continue to voice your concern if the “copying” is too much. I am taking every comment into consideration for the next video. I want to push me and my persona out there, whilst also having other elements I like from other creators in my videos. I don’t want to be a copy of everything, but use nitpicks of inspiration here and there that make it into my content. In reality I could be copying so many with all the little things, but Martin inspired me the most, and I used that inspiration the most, because this is after all, my first video. I hope y’all understand that I don’t want to be a copycat, and have instead been very inspired. We can always agree to disagree 🙌 -Blint

I don't think you are copying. You still did an entire playthrough, edited it and did a voice over. That takes a lot of effort, and taking some inspiration from others is completely fine. I loved the video by the way

Inspiration is great! When starting out, imitation is usually the best thing to do while learning the ropes, and when you feel more comfortable, you can try to find your own style :)

MY GUY how is this your first video, the editing was incredible, the pacing was sublime and you added just enough sound effects and jokes to be funny without it becoming annoying. The entire video was just about perfect

"If Martincitopants, and Trupen had a child" Jokes aside, this was really fun to watch, and I'll definitely be back for more! Also I wouldn't be TOO concerned about the entire "copying" Martincitopants thing. I mean sure, there are moments when you really do sound like him, but it's not THAT bad. Id rather say you took his style, put a twist on it and made it your own. And Im sure that as time progresses youll continue to naturally adapt it furher. No shame in that. Everyone has to start somewhere, and the endresult is after all a video, that especially for a first one is pretty darn good!

Great video. Clear inspiration from creators such as Martincitopants. If there is any creator you should take inspiration from, it's him! I am not calling it copying because it isn't. This is inspiration and it's what everyone does! It takes a lot of time and effort to do something so well, and that for an empty channel! Amazing video! Keep them coming. If I could give one tip: cut the background music. When you're jumpcutting, the jumps are a bit noticeable. Honestly, that's about the only thing I got

Nicely done. This is the 2nd video I've seen presented as a zero to complete in one relatively short video recently and I enjoyed it. Always interesting to see the way different people approach making a decent sized base like this.

If I’m not mistaken, a KZreadr by the name total timewaster about 6 years ago did something similar. While I can’t find any footage as it seems to be unlisted, and this KZreadrs has moved on from factorio and KZread all together,. I believe at one point they tried to push for 1 rocket every second, or at least the required material output for something close to 1 rocket a second Again, can’t find the video or live stream of this. Plus it would be about 6-4 years ago, before factorio 1.0 Impressive none the less. Love seeing people do this

I used to watch him, so I know specifically who you're referring to. Tho it's been a long time since I watched, his monotone voice can still be heard in my head. I enjoyed his angel and bob's playthrough the most back then. I don't recall what you're describing, but I wholeheartedly believe you. He did many things!
