I made a HUGE Mistake at this coin show 🤡
Which coin surprised you the most?
Friendly reminder to look at comps for the actual coin you are looking at, lol. Not the first time and I doubt it will be the last. Just have to dump it and forget it.
I bought some awesome collections over the weekend as well, so I will have some really cool videos this week so stay tuned!
Winners of the book giveaway will be announced in the next video!

Not a terrible mistake. You paid a little more than you would have, nothing to lose sleep over.

I agree. It is still a desirable coin in an old holder with nice original color. There are such bigger blunders to be made in this hobby.
I have seen my share of San Diegos, that coin is a 67 every day. Many are not.
that 1935 holder was funny i bet they wanted to see if they could break and reseal holders so they picked a cheaper one. probably for fun not to rip people off. or maybe the 35 was for there album and they wanted to reuse the plastic some people dont throw nothing away.
1:13 good advice to double check the year and mint mark when making offers. I know it's kind of fast paced and higher pressure at a coin show compared to browsing online or at a casual setting in a shop. It's easy to make an over sight. I would still say its a good investment because of the high grade and older slab.
I appreciate your honest appraisals of each coin, the prices, etc... Great video!!!
yeah that advice at the start is always why diligent research is key and yes we are all human :) I will say though you could always hold onto it for like a few decades and sell it later unless you need the cash right away!
NA your thinking about it all wrong. you just set a new auction record price! congrats those were all some real stunners
The San Diego coin is awesome. I’d love to find one in 68
Thanks for the video. With that 89 CC Morgan...a Fine 12 seems to me to be a little weak of a grade, as I think if that was a common date, it would have graded a VF. With the high prices, it may be worth a resubmittal.
Mistakes are necessary. You learn from mistakes. You still didn't do bad on that commem because in that 67 condition with the nice toning, you will eventually make your money back. If some time passes and it doesn't go up in value to your liking, just sell it a little short and put that money into a better coin that will appreciate. Hence learn from those mistakes. 50 years experience talking here. Good luck! Just one more thing....you've got a really good eye!
1:40 I would not buying slab coins so expensive. In Switzerland where i live slab coins are very unpopular and not common in general.

In the US you'll have a tough time maximizing what you get for a coin when you sell it without a slab. Not saying I love that but it is the way the US coin market works.
Sounds like you had a great show overall!
We can hear Big Nub at 13:55 and see him at 14:30. Say hello to the little guy for us.

I was wondering if that would come in, lol.
Nice coin. We all make mistakes.
You need to get yourself a greysheet. Befriend your LCS and go from there.

I have Greysheet

@@bignubnumismaticsSo you looked at it wrong in Greysheet since 36-D is right beneath? When you say "comps" that's new generation lingo for ebay sold and such. I figured you had looked at multiples on there to gather your Intel. You no doubt paid twice as much for the coin, of course the dealer said yes. Did they really not have a price on it? Also, you fell for the "what will you give me?" Trick. You have a lot to learn young man, but do not be discouraged. Wisen up after this lesson, it's cheap tuition.

Dealer had it marked at 835. I saw Greysheet was 850, but a lot of older comps were around $700, with a few nicer ones exceeding well over $1000. It was much nicer so I decided to buy it, and was able to talk down to 815.I was in a rush because I had to get back to my table and didn’t double check.

@@bignubnumismatics Gotcha. Of course you know the toning, eye appeal and old holder command a premium, so you're good.
Nice coins my man !
It would be good if you gave a price that you paid
I wouldn't crack out that Walker. It may come back AU.

Definitely not, but regardless it is no longer in my possession.
The white glare spot is driving me crazy. Anyway to adjust it away on next video?

Thanks!
If the comps are 800 why would you pay 800? If you sold on ebay they will slice 10-15% if you sold it in an auction they will charge you like 10 percent and the buyer 18-20 over hammer price. Now if you said you paid bid or a percentage back. As far as the mistake don't beat yourself up everyone makes them especially if you are busy.
Nice GOOD Job
I like your videos, but the constant orbital rotation with the annoying spotlight reflecting on the slab is too much for me. When you remedy this; I'll come back otherwise good luck.
IMHO avoid Commenns, qurter CC is nice, Cant see anything. Get flood lights. ❤🐥
Made a great buy on the currency shield I have not seen one for less than 7,000 with really clean variants for 9-10K. How did you come up with the price you paid and the price you sold at???
I stay away from certified colns on the whole . Totally different market .
nice pick ups.

Do you have a website we’re the coins are listed for sale?

I use Facebook & Instagram mostly. Occasionally I’ll use eBay and I’ve been just linking pictures prices with videos lately.
What was the price the dealer had on the coin before you offered the 800?
@bignubnumismatics

Like $875
These overpriced subjective valuations to me are the same as for baseball cards, targeted at people who have too many fiat paper dollars. Incapsulating them in plastic cards prevents the overpriced buyer from weighing and using other measures to detect fraud.

That's why i do not have any silver coin in a slab.
I’d rather buy silver bullion !!!!
The World Trade Center holders are all still being hoarded by a very small number of SPECIFIC collectors correct?
