Basicly he uses effects, loops and filters to manipulate a 'wavetable' being the 909 sample. It's sound synthesis basics. But the result is very nice.
when you make better music than 90% of producers with just one sample :)
most gabber/hardstyle producers: to make gritty sounds you need this and this samplepack also you need those serum and nexus presets and ophidian, an intellectual: PFFFFFT

I have never met any gabber producers with such a consumerist attitude.

Renoise can work as a synthesizer,it's sampler is absolutely outstanding. You can layer several sounds and detune vor big leads, pads or just layer Kicks ,snares and other nice percussive sounds.
that is kinda sick implementing your own style while challenging yourself damn
Well, knowing the math behind the Fourier transform, it would surprise me if you could *not* make any sound using a single wavelength of signal from a sinusoidal source, but then actually doing it and having it come out this perfect... Wow!
In-fucking-sane. The level of sound design in this track, is beyond godlike. Not only did you make a track with 1 sound, you made a banger with 1 sound.
Bewijst maar weer waarom Ophidian een van de beste producers is!
Artist crazyness Out of mind. No words Just Ophidian
when I read the title I expected a very minimalist song. A song only using 4 or 5 tracks, something like Pilldriver - Apocalypse never. And nothing wrong with that, because that song is still kicking ass. I did not expected taking the phreaking to a whole new level. This is 'kraakpiep' in optima forma. Very well done!

man you're a genius
you got too upload this song men, its amazing
This is how one forces oneself to be creative. I love such a minimal start.
Damn that's impressive. So much sound from just a single sample. That makes producing so interesting.
You earned a new sub... and I don't mean the woofer 😗

This is amazing. I like a VERY limited amount of hardcore/hardstyle music because sometimes the distortion gets way too intense and ear-grating, but this one was actually really good, and all from a 909 kick as well! Good job!
@Phoenix-Brah

Definitely agree on that statement, care to share your top picks? I'm looking for similar tracks with emotion and atmosphere. I only come across a few tracks every year that stick. Would be awesome if you could share a playlist or anything! :)
Mozart of Hardcore, srsly dude.....holy fk
incredible! that's what i call high end sound design skills! even with finished samples I do not even get such a fat song.:D i love the atmosphere and the creativity the song has! very impressive and gorgeous. You can be very proud of the song. :-)
THIS NEEDS TO BE RELEASED!
limitation in creativity yields such oddly satisfying characteristics, i actually really like the track a lot haha
Me at 0:00 > "Cool, he'll do some "Data Mining - Dokument 8" (an Embrionyc non serious track made with distorting a single kick that still sounds awesome. Me at 4:30 > "Ok, there's already half the elements to remake Running on Empty!"
This is how to Produce a track, Amazing. the most "Producers" don´t know how to produce a track with Synths and so on, and you made a track with 1 fucking sample!!!! HERO - Give this man a Beer.
As always - I shiver All over - groundbreaking !
You ARE a Master of Hardcore Sir!! I am listening to your trax since the early 2000's. Awesome man!
That's bloody amazing, you're just way above everyone, mate!
Sometimes I think one of the main reasons you and The Outside Agency are cool with each other is your kind of humour.

Dude :O In het begin van het filmpje was ik een tikje sceptisch maar het is gewoon echt een heel erg complete en bovendien toffe track!
I am usually not the Hardcore-Type, but this is different. You gave yourself an extra challenge and still produced such a well made song, very impressive!
You should call it OphidianoCore, i fucking love this version of Hardcore!
It's really amazing how you can pull this off with such limitation. Great track, I really look forward to see more of these challenges.
genius ! a real GENIUS !
Love the idea of these challenges, keep it up!! Edit after seeing the video: Holy. Shit. Impressed once again by your creativity.
Educational, inspirational and downright awesome!
this is absolute fucking insanity how is this humanly possible
Limitation breeds creativity! Holy fucking shit, you just expanded my consciousness. Imagine the possibilities.
Earned a new subscriber, just because this was fucking unbelievable. Amazingly done mate, this proofs my point once again that hardcore is as pure music as any other genre.
That's awesome! It's incredible what you can do with a single sample
Amazing! Was thinking a few years ago if this same thing could be possible with just a 303. Would love to see you make a 90's style gabber track in the same way.
@DJ-Ophidian

Thanks! It sounds like fun to try it with a 303.
Simply Ophidian. Thanks master!
Really appreciate this one. Haven't ever thought it's possible, amazing melody. The only part of this track I don't like is hardcore kick which isn't too hard, but still whole song rocks. Ophidian is Chopin of Hardcore.

William Syndrome well.. its not a hardcore kick or bass.. its hardstyle. And it makes it sound limited. If the bass was like the early hardcore. This track would be awesome.
@KonFishCA
6 жыл бұрын
Lunatick666 100% true! Rawstyle-influenced kicks are used in almost each track of today's hardcore. Imo, lack of hardcore tail and punch make the songs powerless, that's annoying trend. But early hardcore version also would sound interesting. Anyway, this track was created by many transforms of only one sample, so I suppose creating proper kick would be much more labor-intensive.
Oh my god! What you did is the definition of art. Made my whole week, this track. Pure genius. Thank you for all the greatness you provide for us.
Did I ever tell you how awesome you are? :D Even people who don't like/listen to hardcore love your music (: I remember butterfly vip on the radio thats some accomplishment my man :D
Recognize.
that's awesome! you should release it !
My mind is blown. This is absolutely amazing stuff!
This is what its all about right here, impressive man.
This! is the one and only True explanation why I have so tremandous amount of respect for you! As an artist but also for the person you've shown to me the few times we've met and we spoke a while
you simply are a genius for making hardcore art again..this is better than 80% of all hardcore tracks out there because they have nothing special in it,but you have the feels for real music.
like always you blow my mind, you are a source of inspiration for a lot of us, keep your art going for us
Niet normaal. Beetje laat, maar wat een parel. Soms lijkt het alsof we bepaalde apparatuur nog niet uitgespeeld hebben. Grote klasse
nice to see what sound design can make out of just one small sample and a bit magic within EQ'ing and having some Effects
This is beyond amazing! Your years of experience definitely shows on this track, I’d buy it if you released this one.
WTF man!? That's insane, I know you were good, but this is wicked! When you explained what you wanted to do, but didnt have a name for it, I was thinking "The Pindown Challenge" =D Cool stuff! Keep it up. :)
Simply stunning. I seriously envy you, but watching this video I also felt a sense of gratitude that I'm able to get these kind of creative nudges in a world filled with "buy this synth, buy that plugin" advertising. Simplicity, creativity. Brian Eno and Robert Henke have some sensible things to say on this topic as well.
I think these challenges were some of the coolest things I ever dun seen, Also my comment from 4 years ago still holds true. Fucking amazing.
MIND BLOWN! BRAVO, you are a DIGITAL GOD!
Love your tracks, your melodic HC is insane! :D
jij bent gewoon een baas wat jij kan gewoon perfect. ik kijk naar jou op hoe jij je muziek maak :D greatz Ratacore

That's dope m8. By the way that's an awesome software, I have started with Fast Tracker back into the 90's under the DOS system and it was cool enough. Big UP!
Wtf did I just watch and hear?? Speechless.
You a brilliant human, boy! :D Respect from Hungary!
Love it. Back to basics. You don't need much to create a good track.
Nothing special he says....wow what a track man, huge inspiration!
I think video's like this will inspire lots of other producers to get creative, and not do what everyone else does. Good stuff
King of the 909!! Fuck that was dope!!!
Ophidian is the best electronic music producer period. Hardcore or otherwise
This is pretty epic, ive never thought it could get this good. I hope you can do more of these type of things
Wow, dude. That was seriously captivating. Thanks man, guess I'll be listening to some hardcore today.
Holy shit........ No words can describe how awsome this is!
Nog steeds m'n favoriete producer! Machtig en prachtig! Skillz pay the billz!
That's called skills. You should call it "mindblowing" and release it for free for the fans. :)
wow love your insights into music making!
Reminds me of "Dead Weather Machine" which was 2 albums produced from about 2 minutes recording of a broken hand dryer. But this is much more impressive, not even 5 secs of source material.
No words!! Just amazing!!
man you are so bloody talented. WOW!
This is absolutely, undeniably genius work. I'm amazed
This is how you make other musicians/artists understand hardcore
Cool dude!!! You have been mentioned in the Netherlands, 909 kickzass
